Avatar f tn 10 months isn't a long time to not have sex or kiss someone. Your doctor is correct. Very simply, just the treatment alone (lotions and laser) won't prevent more warts. Your body needs TIME to recover. You must HELP your body recover by not having sex or kissing anyone and getting more strains than you currently have. The average recovery period for people is 3-12 months. So ten months is in that range.
1442059 tn?1340240952 Welcome to the forum! I am sorry to hear you feel so bad but the bright side is you are starting treatment. I was a smoker and coffee drinker for 43 years. Never thought I could survive without both of these crutches. I quit smoking 2 years ago with Chantix and the support of a "quit" class at a local university. The Chantix worked well for me and I laid it all down within two weeks. I quit taking the Chantix at that point and never picked up another cigarette.
Avatar n tn My husband quit in 45 minutes with laser treatment, he smoked heavily for 30 years and it's been 3 months now, I still can't believe he's not smoking, it has an 80% success rate so I wasn't sure if it would work on him, he sometimes mentally wants a smoke when he gets stressed but the physical craving has gone so if he stops thinking about it the feeling passes.

Avatar f tn I know this because I have smoked and quit and I have decided to start smoking again and I have cut my smoking down to just evenings and weekends. And some of these periods have lasted for years. I had recently been smoking evening and weekends for about 2 years when I decided to quit it all again. That was in March of this year. One night I imagined not smoking and made it real in my mind. I stopped the next day.
