Puppy throwing up after vaccination

Common Questions and Answers about Puppy throwing up after vaccination

throwing-up

Avatar m tn My dog is 12 yrs old Australian Shellie cocker spaniel mix she is throwing up a lot of green bile and her back legs are not as strong she can't walk up the stairs without help she is not eating but will drink
Avatar n tn Is she ok now? Or still sick? A pup who throws up more than once or twice needs to go to the vet because there is the danger of dehydration. Puppies are more susceptible. I would be inclined to take her to the vet anyway, because throwing up bile is not a sign that the puppy is hungry, it's a sign that something is amiss. It could be anything. An upset stomach, an infection, a foreign body...etc Did you, or the people you got your puppy from make sure she had her vaccinations?
1096512 tn?1384889778 Usually the parvo vaccination is given in a combo-type vaccine with distemper, adenovirus (canine hepatitis), and parainfluenza. Sometimes other vaccines are included in the combo. So, your puppy may have been given other vaccinations already, in addition to parvo. You need to find out. When you were at the vet's office, you should have been given a vaccination schedule for your puppy, with instructions on when to come back. I would find it very curious if you were not given that.

3186206 tn?1344746964 Hello....Karla is right, if the puppy is throwing up a lot it can cause dehydration and you don't want to mess around with that. You definitely want to see a vet as soon as you can, it can be something minor like a change in diet/food or something serious. Keep the puppy hydrated and watch what he eats, personally i'd start him on a bland diet as a precaution....good luck!!!
Avatar f tn Also look up the American Animal Hospital Association vaccination protocol.
Avatar f tn My 2yrold son hit our 9wks old Maultisexchu baby girl ruby very hard some where with a hard flat shoe. She screamed for a while then started to trow up for an hour. She has now stoped throwing up for about 3hours now,but is'nt playing or running around like she would she also look's sad. she will walk a little then sit down that all she doing.
Avatar f tn Hi there...I completely concur with peekawho. Your puppy should be seen, not only for his health, but the health of your family as well. Almost every puppy is born with roundworms. The symptoms you describe are consistent with a heavy parasite infestation. The scary thing about roundworms is that your puppy is shedding about 200,000 roundworm eggs into the environment every day when he defecates. Those eggs are microscopic and they are difficult to eradicate from the environment.
Avatar m tn I have had several dogs over the years and have always given them their appropriate puppy vaccines. I am now at a new vet due to a move and a new puppy and they are saying that the puppy shots are now a series of 4 shots instead of the regular 3 that I remember. When I have questioned the staff (vet tech not the vet) I don't get a straight answer about 4 shots instead of 3. I was also told not to have the puppy around other dogs until he has had all 4 shots which will put him at 18 weeks.
Avatar f tn My puppy is nearly 2 month old..I gave her the 1st vaccination shot weeks ago and was preparing to give him the second this week..2 days ago he began showing symptoms like depression, diahrria which has now evolved into bloody diahrria , vomitingŲŒ he is walking hardly it looks like she is walking over nails.
Avatar n tn Hi Yoyo, I just posted a question myself and then I read your message and thought I would give you my two cents. It's sound like your puppy is just being a puppy. However, I assume that you just recently got this puppy and it has seen a vet. If not, you should take it in. The vet can examine the pup and give appropriate vaccinations. You can also bring up his behavior. If this is healthy, it is probably just being an active puppy.
Avatar n tn You might even try contacting various shelters for low-cost vaccination information. Congrats on your new puppy, and keep her healthy!
Avatar n tn i have pet (german shephard of 43 days .
Avatar f tn Hi, your comments is highly appreciated since I need someone to ease my worries. 2 days ago my son was in pain after playinh with our 3 months old puppy. I don't know if he was bitten or scratched by our pup but he has a tiny 2 lines cut in his head. Im super worried about rabies bec our pupoy doesn't get his vaccination yet because he was still young. I can't sleep and very afraid right now because the site of exposure is in the head which is very dangerous.
Avatar f tn My (now 1 year old) Shih Tzu still has digestive issues off & on. But today I'm wondering about something. My son was playing with her with one of her favorite squeaky toys and all of a sudden she stopped and threw up. There was no liquid it was kind of like mush. Anyway, the thing is she ate breakfast at 7 AM. So this happened 5 hours after eating. Why wasn't that food digested and long gone by then? She usually eats 7:00, 3:30, 9:30, roughly.
10050525 tn?1407504411 Chances of rabies is rare a puppy throwing up is very common might be provost virus which is very common for puppy's. Unless the dog is showing other signs like foaming at the mouth, acting very aggressive, having problems with bright lights, walking funny, bumping in to walls and feeling very hot it's likely the puppy has just got a non human transferable virus.
Avatar m tn This issue that has been bothering me for the last couple of months. While travelling in India, a puppy licked fresh open wound in my son's toe. He was given 4 doses of Rabies vaccine in India. He was to receive 5th dose and we were hoping to give the 5th dose here in the US. But, we were told the CDC recommendation is for 4 doses. So, he did not receive 5th dose.
Avatar m tn I assume, for whatever reason the Mom is not available or, if so, the pup isn't nursing? You are following a similar formula used years ago. They do sell canned or powdered puppy formulas now. However, and I have used this on many pups, you can use canned goat's milk. You probably need to feed every 3-4 hours but don't over feed, which "may" be the reason for the bloating. Try burping the puppy after feeding.
Avatar n tn Vomiting can be caused by a number of things......However, in a puppy this young, dehydration can be a serious complication.... How long has he been vomiting (How many times?) and what does it look like? Is it full of food or foam? What color is it? Does he have diarrhea? How long have you had him? Another concern: Are you sure he has had his shots & wormed? Or were you just told this? The reason I ask is that this puppy should still be with it's mother....
