A three pound Yorkie is EXTREMELY small. Look at it this way, the difference between a four pound Yorkie and a three pound Yorkie is the same as the difference between a person who weighs 100 pounds and a person who weighs 75 pounds! When it comes to being able to carry a litter of puppies and deliver them safely, that one pound makes a BIG difference!

Hello, I have a 5 month old Yorkie. Since I have had him he does this real quick cough. Sometimes when he is playing or drinks water. It kinda sounds like a gag. Or someone clearing there throat. He is also very itchy.

Took my ten month old puppy (mixed breed poodle, chihuahua, yorkie, pitbull) to the vet for a pre-op checkup and bloodwork before spaying surgery. Dr said she’s really healthy and her blood work was normal and she didn’t have heart worms. Dr gave me two chewables by Nexgard and Heartgard for heart worm, flea & tick prevention. She told me to wait a day to give them to her at the same time. I did it the next day. Puppy had a seizure a few hours later.

there is no contrainidcation whatsoever to having or taking care of a dog while immunsouppressed as long as the dog has had the standard shots. cats are different because of the risk of organisms in their litter box. Enjoy the dog and congratulations on doing so well post transplantation.
well after much debating in the kitty room my mom wondered off to the puppy/dog area. we were watching the puppies play and there was this little black fur ball sitting in the corner all by himself. he was VERY shy and scared (which he's not shy with the family but is a TOTAL scardy cat!). of course we decided on the little odd ball sitting by himself. that was 10 months ago and now our little fur ball is a big beautiful 1 year old ....mutt of some sort.
Hi! I have a 6 year old yorkie whom I adore! Probelms is he "marks" all over the house. He goes outside to do his business but he still makes drip spots all over. The corners of chairs, table legs......He is also quite the Mama's Boy and he growls and snaps at other family members (except me!!) sometimes. He is getting worse.
The only changes in the house, was a recent loss of our 13 yr old dog and an addition of a 7 mo puppy in December. There were no affects to the new addition and they have gotten along well in that the cat hisses and the puppy leaves the area. I have started brushing her out, but it seems to exaserbate the problem and I've started to notice bald spots on her now. It does seem as though there are large flakes of dandruff in her rump area but there are no color changes to the skin.
My tiny dog has so much dry skin. Its beyond considering it dandruff. I've been giving him flee baths about once a week. Maybe a little less then that. What could I put on his skin that could help this problem?
but it is hard for me to believe that mycotoxins in our flowerbed killed our sweet baby puppy. Our 9 week old Yorkie began having vomiting and diarrhea, we took him to the animal hospital, he then then aspirated his vomit, then went into seizure, suffered cardiac arrest, stabilized then began bleeding out of both ends. Vet called to tell me his organs were failing. We euthanized him quickly after that information.
Your puppy needs to be seen by an emergency vet TONIGHT. A nine week old small breed puppy has absolutely no defenses against something like this and from your description of her behavior afterward, she could have sustained serious injuries. Normally, if a puppy gets a minor injury, say, if they get their paw stepped on, they will yipe and act like it's the end of the world for a minute or two but then they'll be right back to running around playing.
I have a jack Russell mix,(2yrs old) the dad is a yorkie. she has been panting heavily for about 12 hours on and off, she is in a dark quiet place, and I am not sure how long before she gives birth to a puppy?? She has been very restless, she has had some discharge, and there is milk present, not dripping, but there. this is our first time breeding any of our dogs. I am somewhat prepared, but nervous just the same.
