milk

14975014 tn?1437675913 They need that for a few days and when your real milk comes in, your baby is ready for it. You have to remember that your milk is made exactly for the baby, pumping before hand messes all that up and isn't good for either of you.
7845638 tn?1395841467 That would be great to breastfeed for a month b4 exclusicely pumping. One thing that concerns me is with only pumping, you have to pump alot, like s s many times your baby feeds a day. & your milk comes in by supply & demand. So maybe, pump during the day, but breastfeed at night. Your supply goes up at night. I've breastfed all my kids. Tried the pumping thing, its very vigorous but u have to do it to go to school/work.
Avatar f tn Pumping doesn't stimulate milk production like natural breastfeeding does. Try hand stimylating with pumping every hour, using warm rags around your breast to make the let down reflex easier, and eating certain foods and even some teas can help the body produce milk.
Avatar f tn t have came in to help you with that I had my twins 3 months earlier and still had milk it was slow the first couple of days but you breast need to be stimulated if not by a baby by a pump.
2032629 tn?1329618488 hey, have you tried skin to skin breast feeding instead of pumping for a little bit. by pumping you are encouraging more milk and at a rate that the baby doesn't control itself. i think i would defer this question to the breast feeding forum here. they are full of information and great tips. perhaps one of the ladies there will be more helpful.
Avatar f tn Im breastfeedinq my bby qurl and my right breast hursts cuz its full.of milk and Ive tried to qive the bby from that breast but my nipple hurts alot and bleed also .. ive tried some nipple cream and puttin warm water ..
Avatar f tn Im trying to decide on things that i can get alternates of to be cheaper and thought id consider a way cheaper version of a pump the only thing is i was wondering if id end up with a hand cramp by the time i finish pumping lol i dont plan on pumping a whole lot mostly just so that my husband can feed the baby and in.
Avatar f tn By emmaly U could just pull on it or massage it
Avatar f tn With my first child I did breast feeding for a year, but when I tried transitioning her from breast to bottle, it was A PAIN! She refused to take the bottle, so now I want to try to do both.. I bought a breast pump, so I'm wondering how does the whole freezing your milk process work? How long is it good for? How do you unfreeze it? Or boil it? Thank you for your time!
422823 tn?1229736847 Never combine the cold milk with warm breast milk, so each time you will have to store one bottle (or the breast milk bags are good too)....once the milk is cold you can combine them. Whoa...off track, sorry! After I put the milk away I would wash the plastic nipple attachments and the other bottle. I used hot soapy water, then just set out to dry. At the end of the day you can steam everything. The tubing I would steam once a week, as no milk ever gets into that part.
Avatar f tn I delivered my son at 33+5. He is doing great just a little stay in the NICU. well neway I'm pumping right now till he able to latch the breast. Yesterday my pump got left in my husband car an he was at work which is a 45 min drive. An I couldn'tgo out cause its cold ffor me to be out. Now my breast are HUGE an SORE!! I think my milk bagged up from that one day. Any help on what to do at least sooth the pain. I'm still pumping tho!
Avatar f tn I just had my second daughter on the 4th. She wasn't getting anything from me, lost significant weight. Said if my.milk doesn't come in by that day I had the apt to try formula because she needed to eat. As soon as I gave her formula I became engorged with milk. She still wasn't getting enough.from breast, so I started pumping, I get quite a bit from pumping and I still mix an ounce of formula, with 2 ounces of breast. She's doing great with it.
Avatar f tn I had a lot of extra milk so when she was about 1 month old I started pumping extra milk and freezing it for when I returned to work. I went back to work when she was 5 months old and continued to pump every day. (I had to travel once a month usually for 3-4 days at a time so it was good to have a surplus of milk in the freezer (at one point we had an entire little freezer full of milk!
6337597 tn?1396556014 Cabbage relieves the pain. Put it in your bra. It stinks but it works I'm told.
Avatar f tn You can give formula while pumping to breast feed but like others said it will be hard to keep up milk supply. Make sure to get the right pump, my first wouldnt latch so I had to pump but I lost my milk by 8 weeks and had to supplement with formula the whole time. Turns out I didnt have the right type of pump and didnt do it enough. I thought I would have problems having a baby breastfeed but my son did and I actually found pumping more awkward.
Avatar f tn Maybe you should stop pumping. If it gets painful, go in the shower and hand express. Pumping and feeding is making your body believe your baby needs all that milk at once.
1149221 tn?1304827966 Is anyone else pumping and really getting tired of it? After the hospital made him have a bottle he would never take the breast so I have to pump. I am really getting tired of it. I just feel guilty if he has to have formula all the time (he gets it 2-3 times a day) plus pumping is free. I just find it so hard to take 30 minutes every 3 hours to pump. By the time I'm done both my boys are upset and I have to calm them both down. I just don't know what to do.
7498971 tn?1391425105 can you pump before the baby is born? If so, when can women usually start pumping? What different ways can you store your pumped milk? And how long does the milk stay fresh to use?
Avatar f tn Can you give breast milk and formula? Had my lil one on the 20th and just like my first son he cracked me the first day,so i started formula,my milk has now came in and i can pump, can i do both? I really wanted to breastfeed this time but idk about doing both..
Avatar n tn yes I was, but I didn't want to get into the Tandom feeding. And yeah I am engorged :( same feeling I had with my daughter when I was weaning her right before I foundout I was pregnant. My doc said to pump and just give it to my daughter or freeze it. But I can't get anything out by pumping. ( TMI ) but it's just pouring if I hand express or lean forward. Not really sure what else to do that will ease the pain !
Avatar f tn I breast feed my first born for 2.5 years, and plan to breast feed this baby too. It's so much easier than making bottles of formulas and you save money.
327668 tn?1224792350 She is 11 months now and I still get PLENTY of milk for her just by pumping ( she decided at 7 months she was done breastfeeding so I had to pump) I get 25-30oz a day just depending on IF she nurses once in the early morning( very rare but occasionally she will). If your little one cant nurse but you still want to give her breastmilk exclusive pumping is very doable.
Avatar f tn I would drop it to 3 hours and if it drastically affected my supply I went back to 2 hrs. By the time he was 9 months I was pumping every 4 and had a ton saved in the freezer. My son was preemie so I pumped right from the moment he was born. They let me put him to Breast a couple times but that was until he was a couple weeks old so I had been pumping my milk for him til then. He never latched after the one time so I exclusively pumped for a year.
