Common Questions and Answers about Pulling teeth necessary for braces

teeth

Avatar f tn It would be for the cleaning, pulling, filling, replacing, and braces. Also should I be worried about the brown spot? And my last question is, should I apply towards dental insurance or could New Mexico medicaid cover all the expenses? My teeth never hurt but fillings are necessary as well as braces.
Avatar n tn t know what you do about the frontal teeth because sealing is mainly done for the back teeth. The front teeth may now be an available option too. If you go for a check-up, I'm sure the dentist can give you many helpful hints on ways to prevent cavities while wearing braces. I think my husband's problem was he wasn't a good brusher while wearing his. I'm just proud we had the sealing done on my son's teeth.

Avatar m tn Grandaughter had recently gotten braces. Found out she had a couple of teeth growing wrong and sent to an orthodontist. Paid to have X-ray and now they want $1600 per tooth (has 3 to extract) for bone graph. Is this needed and how dangerous is it..... I have heard its GREED.
Avatar f tn Brushing after every meal should be made a regular habit as nothing should be stayed stuck in your braces and teeth. Along with that, eating the kind of food which is beneficial for your oral health is necessary.
Avatar f tn Sometimes these spots are caused by nutrition, genetics, or an excessive intake of fluoride, while other times they become evident after braces have been removed. Some children also develop white spots on their teeth as they are developing. Usually white spots that appear on the teeth are actually areas of decalcified enamel and sometimes this problem can actually lead to the deterioration of teeth.
Avatar m tn My dentist suggested root canal on it. I also have braces so he also told me that the crown will be placed when the braces are removed. But looking at the cost and the amount of care to be taken, I am holding back. I would prefer extraction because anyway it isnt helping me in chewing and two of my teeth need filling so i would first spend money on saving them. What should i do?
Avatar n tn I have 2 pretty seriously crooked teeth in the front, and I'm wondering if (aside from having years of braces for just 2 teeth) veneers are the best way to fix these. I'm not looking to make them neccesarily 100% straight...just better than what they are right now. If not what else is there? extraction and bridges? crowns?
Avatar f tn It seems though that you have done all the right things for your son, and you are to be commended for that. I hope things work out for this part too.
Avatar m tn They only really hurt when i talk or move them around. Last week i started brushing better because i got only my top braces done and I wanted my teeth to stay healthy. So being said that, I switched to a spin brush approximately 3 or 4 nights ago. The problem is the electric toothbrush was only 5 dollars and pretty rough. I'm thinking this could be a reason what do you think? Another thing is my gum's are red though.
Avatar n tn She gets extremely upset, cries, and usually has to be restrained. Will most dentist sedate for braces or should be just put off this for a few more years and hope she gets better at the dentist????
Avatar n tn Just finished braces and we created a space for a missing canine. I was pretty sure about implant however my dentist said that eventually the two teeth on either side would need to be capped so now I don't know what to do. Money wise bridge woluld be covered 50% implant next to nothing. I still want to make the right choice. Any help wold be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn I had braces at a relatively older age than most people in my early 40s. The dentist warned me at that point that if I was to get braces then he couldn't guarantee the strength of my teeth in the future (older age) and said I might have complications. I read braces were allowed at any age, but why did he warn me at that time? I'm 58 now and my teeth are a bit crooked and I've lost several teeth as well.
Avatar f tn You can bite correctly, eat more comfortably and care for your teeth and gums more easily. It also improves your smile. Braces are useful to straighten crooked, crowded or protruding teeth, close gaps between teeth and correct the bite of the teeth. It is a prolonged treatment. It may take 18 months to 2 years. A visit to the orthodontist may be required every four to six weekly. You should take extra care with the braces since there is a tendency for food to get trapped and plaque formation.
Avatar n tn We were told that there were also teeth missing and that applying the braces would fill in the gaps. Now 2 teeth are trying to come in between the teeth that have been pulled together by the braces, and the doctor wants to extract them now. We were told these teeth were genetically missing. I think the braces were applied to early, before all her teeth had a chance to grow in. I can upload the exray.
Avatar n tn One of the reputed dental specialist in a dentistry clinic in Ajax has whom I had consulted recommended me to wear braces which can lead my teeth properly aligned. I’m totally unaware of this procedure. Which one is the most preferable - the invisalign or traditional braces? Can anyone share their experience who has got braces?
1174891 tn?1263599857 No one is too old for braces. Many people in their 50s and 60s are getting braces because they were not really available when they were growing up.
Avatar m tn I'm 17 and was wondering if I should get braces based on the picture, or is there anyway to get bigger teeth, my two front central incisor or front two teeth seem bigger in proportion to the rest of my top front teeth, I'm fine with my bottom, I'm just wondering if I should get braces, try to get bigger teeth somehow, or anything in general. Always looking to improve my teeth so any tips are helpful!

Avatar f tn Im also on motrin 800 mls, and celexa, and xanax. Ive only been in these braces for a month, so maybe down the rd, things will get even better. I this point, im willing to try anything for relief. good luck to you!!
Avatar n tn what's so good about having braces? Are they only for a better appearance? I read that misaligned teeth can cause tooth decay, but can't you just brush your teeth to avoid tooth decay? I also read that misaligned teeth can affect your speech and chewing, but by how much? Can misaligned teeth affect you so badly that you absolutely can't chew or speak intelligibly? And if yes, does it only happen if your teeth are very misaligned?
Avatar f tn He should also probably do any necessary cleaning at that time and will make his recommendation for further treatment (if the deep cleaning hasn't resolve the issue) or a maintenance program to prevent further problems and avoid further deep cleanings. It sounds like the area isn't fully healed. I would try to do what you can to maintain the health of the gums. You may want to call and ask your dentist about your symptoms. He may want to prescribe a mouth rinse.
