t find an alternative to Concerta I may have to try to wane out Paxil altogether. I have heard of Provigil, I wonder if you know anything about it. Thanks so much again for your support, I really appreciate it.

I even feel the effects of the Provigil the next day (though not nearly as strong). Actually the Provigil fades out about 8 hours after I take it, but I sure do sleep well that night! The next day, I have slightly more energy than usual. I love Provigil, but, due to the chest fullness, can't use it very often so that is why I was considering Adderall (I'm also ADD). In your opinion, how did the Adderall compare to the Provigil in terms of fatigue reduction?

Hello, I also have adult ADD and I have tried both Concerta and Vyvanse. My doctor wanted me to try Concerta for a few weeks and I didn't like it at all. It didn't agree with me. It made it feel depressed and NOT motivated to do everyday things. I was on a 36 mg dose and when I went back to my doctor I told him I hated it. He mentioned that there is a new medication called Vyvanse and asked if I would like to try it. With nothing to lose, I said yes. I do like Vyvanse.

Hello, I lost 15 pounds over the last 3 months. I'm taking Concerta (36 mg- twice per day), Tecfidera (240 mg twice per day) and Brintellix (10 mg). I have no appetite and when I eat everything tastes awful. Concerta and Brintellux are more effective for me versus Modnafinil and Cymbalta. However, I can't afford to lose anymore weight. Additionally, I'm only sleeping about 3 hours per night due to trips to the restroom.

I was wondering--have any of you been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder (ADD)? I was quite surprised when my neuro diagnosed me with this last week. I think it's related to my MS, but not sure (dummy me didn't think to ask). He told me that Provigil actually helps with this problem and raised my dosage a bit. The cognitive stuff has improved greatly since taking Provigil, but if it would go away completely, I don't think I'd mind one bit!

I give it to her 7 days a week because she is ADHD, know the difference between ADD & ADHD. ADD is only Attention Deficit vs ADHD includes Hyperactivity. I don't know about growing pains vs. "problematic" pains either. Has her dosage of Concerta been increased? I ask because often ADHD meds are gradually increased, and sometimes kids can only tolerate a lower dose. If her medication had been increased, that might account for some of the more twitching coming on suddenly. The twitching would concern me more than the pains.... I too had a lot of "growing pains," when I was a teen. God Bless!

I tried provigil, stratera, wellbutrin, lexapro, celexa, Prozac, paxil adderal, and concerta. Concerta is ritalin (methylphenidate hcl) but the delivery system is different and is supposed to be more effective but it's wicked expensive. My medication doesn't make everything all better for me. I'm not able to go out and do normal things just because I take the pills. I was never able to just do normal things. The medication does make things much easier but it doesn't work magic.

The propanolol increases the Provigil in the blood. I only take 100 mg. of Provigil. I have tried other medicines for fatigue and they don't work for me. I don't have any adverse effect and it actually makes me feel human. Typically, the medicines used for attention deficit disorder or ADHD are used to combat fatigue.

only took it 5 days now I am discontinue it. My doc mentioned trying concerta or strattera. Anybody have experience like this or with these meds?

A co-worker called this week with a question about our insurance - she was denied provigil/nuvigil, even though her doctor contacted the insurance company and appealed the decision. She suffers great fatigue and the sample helped her a lot. She was wondering if I had any clues as to how others get this drug approved since it is not an MS drug.

I had a mild form of cataplexy. I didn't even know I had it until I started the Xyrem! I used to take adderall but my blood pressue started going up. I read were they didn't even prescribe it in Canada d/t the side effects on your heart. So they switched it to Concerta. It doesn't work as well as the adderall but its better on my bp. I didn't realize you could take provigil and adderall at the same time. What does the Codeine do for you?

We have had several excellent discussions going about cognitive decline vs. physical decline. Now my questions for all of you is, who is on medication for the cognition? Please take a minute to tell us what you are on and what your opinion of the medication is. Is it helping? How bad if at all are the side effects? I have an appt. on 12/22 and want to request to be put on SOMETHING for this mental decline but I have no experience with "these" meds.
