And is it safe to do so? Cause I've been taking Protonix for a while, and could interact with Pepsid?

Ever since then I have been experiencing uncomfortable constipation with full relief coming only once. As you can imagine, it's not only uncomfortable but embarrassing to be bloated and gassy almost every day. Please don't tell me I missed that too, in spite of going back and reading again...........LOL It's possible that you have nodules that are leaking hormone independently of the thyroid gland itself. What happens if I take more than the daily recommended dose of Tums in a 24 hour period? Anyone out there on Protonix? I was diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on Nexium which helped slightly with my burping but I was still getting stomach aches. I went for an abdominal ultrasound, endescopy and CT scan with IV contrast and all came back fine. My Dr just switched me to Protonix.

The Dr gave me Nexium, but I was still getting upper stomach pain and pressure in the chest an back. I was switched to Protonix and it seemed to help with the upper stomach pain right under the breastbone. I'm taking two pills a day. Does anyone know how long Protonix takes to work? t doing well and you raised them on your own to see if it would help which is never a good idea? What is the dose that you are taking? What dose did you take today? I could give you some more information then. But more importantly if you are starting to feel sick then you might have taken above what is the reccomended maximum dosage and clearly you are encountering some side effects.

I told the nurse everything I take the day of my endoscopy and no one ever mentioned this interaction to me. Also, is it safe to take 80mg of Protonix a day? Would that be an appropriate dose for a refractory ulcer?

t help but had to try that first before insurance would pay for Protonix. I have been on Protonix for over a year now and am having problems again. Right after I eat, I get bloated; I liken it to when you are full and you bend over to tie your shoe and you feel so much pressure on your stomach and diaphragm area and your head feels full of pressure. That's what I feel like after I eat and I am NOT bending over.

t have medicaid and yesterday my health insurance company said I must use generic of Prilosec first and if it does not work I guess my doc can request the Protonix. I really feel a difference not having the Protonix. Glad you can receive it. Thanks.
