Been on basicaly every med on the market and recently I am on 2x daily protonix which has completley gotten rid of the nausea. My bloating (indigestion?) and belching throughout the day has gotten worse. It gets worse by the end of the day and after I eat dinner sometimes lasts for an hour.
I also just started a new weight lifting routine to try and counter this weight loss I had in the past 3 years (dropped from 150 to like 135). I started this the same time as my 2x daily protonix.
Anybody on here taking protonix for acid reflux. Since I started my third trimester I've been having the worst acid reflux/gas EVER! I can't sleep, I can't eat. The third trimester seems to be worst for me than the last two. Was thinking about taking some protonix that I have from my job but I read its a class B drug with no proven side effects to baby.
I started taking Protonix daily and watched what I ate. I have a lot of bloating and gas and a little bit of pain. My symptoms are not too severe all the time but I start to panic when I get in a quiet environment like a classroom or a work meeting. I get really worried about having an episode. Unfortunately, the panicking makes me have an episode of bloating, gas, and pain. I don't mind the pain but the bloating and gas episodes are not allowing me to do day to day tasks.

Recently had a bout with some left rib pain and abdominal aches. Went away for 3 months. Then came back with a few bouts of gas. After getting these aches in my left rib, and sometimes right, doc sent me for and endoscopy. Said I have very slight Barrett’s and some inflammation and put me on protonix. Also have small polyp on gallbladder that we will check again in 6 months.
He said the pain in rib (front and side) can be caused from this, and that it affects everyone differently.

Hello I have had chest pains for nearly fifteen years that recently have been more recently, I have been on Nexium for nearly two years and I was on Protonix for one year before that. I know that stress,poor eating habits and drinking could be factors however I have limited these factors but still get freuquent lateral chest pains that feel like stabbing sharp pains, can you offer any help?
he prescribed me the regular treatment with antibiotics and protonix...i was doing fine the first days..but after i changed to prevazid...i ve got bloating ,pain in my chest..heartburn..pain in my ribs and back...he tried to changed me to omeprazole but the side effects of that medicine are really horrible...i'm back to prevazid//just one time in the morning before meals( one hour before)

I had tons of gurgling in my stomach and colon area and a general feeling of having trapped gas/air/bloating all over. My bowel movements started changing. One day they would be shaped fine, the next day they would be kind of skinny, then one day they would be weird puzzle shapes and kind of like diarrhea, then the next day diarrhea, then back to normal. No particular order. This went on for two months.
I saw my doctor. He pushed around on me and said he didn't feel any lumps.
Anyone out there on Protonix? I was diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on Nexium which helped slightly with my burping but I was still getting stomach aches. I went for an abdominal ultrasound, endescopy and CT scan with IV contrast and all came back fine. My Dr just switched me to Protonix.
The Dr gave me Nexium, but I was still getting upper stomach pain and pressure in the chest an back. I was switched to Protonix and it seemed to help with the upper stomach pain right under the breastbone. I'm taking two pills a day. Does anyone know how long Protonix takes to work? I was told that some PPI's could take 4 to six weeks to take affect.
It was only a days ailment and went away but now since yesterday I notice after I wake up and drink water with my pills I get this sensation that there is something in my throat and like I have trapped gas and I need to burp so I drink water and indeed I burp. I am on Protonix 1 x 40mg and I suffer from gastritis/esophagitis since 2010 but every fall and spring I am.in a flair. Any advice?
I had been on GERD meds for a long time, protonix, prevacid, zantac etc. I did not realize this could cause malabsorption of vitamins and am chronically deficient in iron, vitamin d, magnesium etc and was put on prescription vitamins. I stopped taking the acid reflux meds for a few months and now am waking up a lot at night (in addition to my sleep apnea), have gunk in my throat and feel stuff coming back up again.
Otherwis I get pain in chest and the feeling that there is alot of air or gas in middle of chest. I have to stretch and force myelf to burb to try to let it out. It is extremely uncomfortable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am 31 and just started having problem this year

I do have tenderness on my right side--exactly across from where my gallbladder used to be. There is no blood, no gas, or belching--just a dull cramping each time I eat. I stopped taking Protonix two weeks ago to see if that was the cause, but I am still experiencing the same symptoms. Any advice would be much appreciated.
I have been having trouble with constipation and gas. As well as pain in my ribs and back that feels as it is caused by gas. I also have this problem of food regurgitating up to an hour or two post meal. Just got diagnosed from the mayo clinic with rumination syndrome which is related to the gas trapped in my stomach that causes pain and then to burp more then normal when it finally releases.
Heartburn, throat feels like its on fire, chest pain, acid taste, indigestion, back pain, burping, acid coming up every time I burp. Finally got in to the gastro dr. He put me on protonix, and scheduled me for an EGD and Gastric Emptying Test. Both came back fine, but still feel horrible. Surgeons question if it could be anxiety? I really don't think so. Went back to the gastro today to follow up. He changed my dose of protonix, and said to see how that worked.
Gas and bloating and trapped gas - is common if your certin medications , as they can cause this to happen/ as well with acid reflux , you should be taking somekind of med for it (to stop it from happening) gas can cause palps to happen in some cases. yes it depends what your eatting too! try and eat as blan as you can - dont drink soda pop's
fizzy drinks - eat slow and try to keep the mouth closed when eatting, dont talk while eatting. as air gets down inside you - thus gas builds up.
