Just wondering what is the best time to take valtrex if on suppressive therapy 500mg X1 day?

Its great to hear that some of you have experienced no or few side effects. Please tell me what you suggest is the best time of day to take the double pill dosage. I am so thrilled to hear of your successes with this treatment. God Bless.

I will start tx soon and would like some input as to the best time to take meds, injection once a week and oral meds every 8 hours. My five y/o grand daughter, and her mom (full time college student) live with me. I was thinking Thurs. or Fri. for injection (would like to attend church Sun) and 6am, 2pm, and 10pm for oral meds.

In order to keep best our kidney, what time should be take a pill of viread? Am or pm?

I went for an abdominal ultrasound, endescopy and CT scan with IV contrast and all came back fine. My Dr just switched me to Protonix.

No but my doctors have told me to only take either tums or zantac. I take Zantac now because it works fast and helps throughout the day and night.

When is the best time to take Celexa? My dr just started me on 5mg and told me to take it at 8pm. I stopped taking the pills cause it said that prolonged magnesium deficiency can cause serious heart problems. Since then I take Zantac, it does next to nothing even though I take 4 maximum strengths a day, and I pop tums all day, but the heart palpitations have gone away. Not really sure what my next move is going to be. Maybe after 6 months of this I can go back to the protonx for a while.

I was having similar complications on the omeprazole from time to time, but found that the protonix worked much better without the complications. Though I do agree that speaking with your doctor is best, especially if you have other medical complications or concerns also.

The best person to ask about drug interactions is your Pharmacist at your local drug store...they know which meds should not be taken together and which ones can be taken together safely,.... The protonix should be the better med to take as I am sure it is stronger...talk to the Pharmacist and let me know what they advise.

Hello, About 2 month ago, I started having bad stomach pain, with pins anf needles sensation, and pain radiating through back. I went to see family doc and he did blood test to rule out pancreatitis (result came back normal), and put me on Protonix 40mg, once a day. I took for couple of weeks, and felt ok, so stopped, but pain would come back, so went back on it couple of days later. The bottle had 30pills, and one refill.

I take Protonix to control my gerd. An allergist recommended this and it does seem to make a difference. Does anyone else take these types of meds to control their gerd and, ultimately, help with asthma? I cannot get Protonix any longer through my health insurance and was wondering if someone took something else as effective. Prilosec and Nexium do not have as good as effect as Protonix for me. In the past I was able to control the symptoms assuming Carafate and 20mg of Prilosec or Protonix for certain periods time to time, which helped without causing any significant side effetcs. After some time both medicines started causing bad stomach cramps. I have had a reflux flare up for 5 months now causing me a mild esophageal inflamation.

Does anyone know if this is dangerous for anyone with my issues to take this medication? I am on Carafate 2 x daily, Protonix 2x daily, and a Zantac 1 at bedtime, from my gastroenterologist. I welcome any help. Thank you.
