Avatar f tn t reduce my blood pressure effectively enough so I was placed on Lisinopril (10mg once daily at 8am) just last week. As I attempted to gradually reduce my propranolol dose I experienced tachycardia, so, after consulting an ER doctor, resumed my regular dosage. I am due to see my pediatrician this thursday. *I was home alone with my father when he suffered the stroke, which took place during a huge blizzard. It was rather traumatic.
Avatar f tn I am a 25 year old female. I have never smoked. I drink maybe 3 times a year. I have been having chest pains over the past couple of hours. It has been a steady pain....(7-7.5 on a scale of 1-10)... I've had a little bit of pain in my shoulder as well...What could be causing this? I am 5'8" and I weigh 260. I do have high blood pressure and asthma, (i take Lisinopril and Albuterol for those).
19948752 tn?1487604687 s show rbbb with left anterior fascicular block and I have also been diagnosed with having hypertension which I take meds for (Lisinopril, Propranolol and Hydrochlorot). Every once in a while, especially when I am talking or feeling a tad stressed I get a sudden pressure in my temples with a stuffy nose on the left side. I recently had an MRI which was pretty clear (for the most part) and a doppler scan of my carotid arteries which were clear.
Avatar f tn By the time they implemented the flecaininde, I was on 300 of metoprolol and 200 of propranolol. The body does and amazing job of compensating and I was able to maintain a pressure. When the flecainide was added, it seemed to make everything else work better and for the first time since myocarditis, my heart was SLOW. After the 3 ablations, I still have to carry a backpack full of meds.
Avatar f tn He diagnosed me w/cardiomyopathy (a new word for me). He told me to continue the propranolol and added lisinopril 5 mg per day. I asked him if this condition is what's making me so tired and he said no; acted like its no big deal and said he wanted to recheck heart function in 6 mos. and hopefully the meds will have improved my EF. I went online to find out more; found theres 3 kinds of cardiomyopathy and wondered why he didnt tell me which one I have.
Avatar f tn Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Avatar f tn I have a history of migraines for about twenty years. I quit smoking 7 months ago, and started propranolol 20 mg once a day. I gained 30 pounds. My whole body is sore and Im having episodes where my upper body and sometimes legs just feel so heavy and tired I feel like Im going to pass out. Had a Head CT, Head and Neck CTA, CBC, EKG all were normal. Is it related to migraine? ER doctor said it is anxiety. Oh I stopped celexa five months ago because I was extremely fatigued.
Avatar m tn Lisinopril and Carvedilol are blood pressure medications (lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor, Carvedilol is a beta blocker) and should not have any effect on your lipid profile. Both are important medications for those who have suffered a heart attack and undergone stenting. In addition to these medications, you should be on some sort of lipid medication (a "statin" such as atorvastatin, pravastatin, rosuvasatin, lovastatin, etc).
Avatar f tn I read that too much potassium doesn’t work well while on propranolol because while on it the body does not excrete potassium as normally and you can get levels that are too high. Could this be the cause or is there an adjustment period while taking propranolol? I’ve been drinking pomegranate juice and cherry juice, 4 oz of each, with breakfast this past week. These are very high in potassium. Something is making me feel very strange and I’m hoping it wears off.
Avatar f tn 5 mg had problems with that also, the problems that I was having was my BP would go down to 95/55 and I would get so dizzy and lightheaded all day long and was unable to live a normal life, so was put on Carvedilol 3.125 mg, I am doing better with this except that I have asthma and people who have bronchial disease shouldn't take Carvedilol it has a tendency to weaken the lungs, I have been having a terrible time with my asthma as of late, it could be the meds.
Avatar m tn As far as I understand it, lisinopril (like all the ACE-I) may produce dry cough but normally no runny nose, also if you are taking it for 3 months and it is now when you have those problems, chances are that it is not lisinopril. Jesus.
Avatar n tn I am taking high blood pressure medication called lisinopril and I started an itchy throat, itchy ear and start coughing like It would never stop, it's getting worse when I swallow liquid. Any advise or diagnoses for my symptoms?
Avatar f tn Amazingly, I never even had low bp probs with all that, my body would just adjust. Once I was on it AND metoprolol AND lisinopril, bp started to be more problematic but the rhythms were bad. Then they added diltiazem and kept increasing the dose every two weeks. Then, flecainide was added.. and my rate slowed down... ALL the way down. I had to be taken into the ER with a rate of 0. So, they gave me a pacemaker so they actually could give me all those meds and not just kill me.
Avatar m tn I use simvastatin to lower the cholesterol and lisinopril to lower the bp. The lisinopril works w/o the simvastatin and v.v.
Avatar m tn and 2mg of lisinopril. I only take a few supplements, mostly, a multi-vitamin and joint supplement, Mirracle greens, fish oil, CLA and Protien shakes after workouts. The main problem is I have every side-effect from the Coreg. (dizziness, headache, nausea, light headed ness and worst of all I have developed ED because of the meds.) My Cardiologist wants to double my Coreg dosage to 6mg twice daily. I barely function now as it is, I've been on them for a month. I feel HORRIBLE!!
Avatar m tn Just so you know, on the maximal amount of Coreg and Lisinopril that your heart rate and blood pressure can handle, the heart muscle can get stronger and we can see the EF improve!!! I think you may have 15 years left to your heart but you need to be very careful and take all of your medications (never stop plavix again with all of the stents you have) as prescribed and continue exercising at least 30 min 3-4x per week.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was diagnosed in a ER with CHF a couple of weeks ago and the cardiologist I am to see is on vacation. I was placed on lisinopril, lasix, and propanolol as a preventive by my PCP while waiting. I have been coughing lately and I saw somewheres that coughing may be a lisinopril warning sign. Is this correct. I do not see the heart doctor until next friday for final diagnosis and future planning. Thank you in advance.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know how propranolol effects exercise? I do triathlon and train using a heart rate monitor. I am wondering if I would be able to progress athletically given my heart rate would be lowered substantially?
Avatar m tn She also takes a high dosage of Lisinopril and Carvedilol and it seems like she is getting weaker at times. The dosage for Lisinopril is 40mg and 25mg for Carvedilol She has been taking this medication for almost 2 years now, but now she has become weaker and is more nervous now, have anxiety attacks. Is the dosage too high? Or is there anyway to reduce the side effects of the medication?? Thanks...
3122467 tn?1342138836 To deal with it, I take a beta blocker, propranolol, and it works beautifully. Not only does it take care of the akathisia it also treats anxiety. Once i ran out of propranolol because it hadn't arrived from the mail order pharmacy and the akathisia came back so I know two things... I still have it and propranolol stops it.
Avatar m tn I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse. Does anyone here have anxiety problems along with HBP and the medications have made them worse? Doctors don't believe me but I know my own mind and how different it is since I went on these medications.
Avatar f tn I got my period on 2 may this month and it was very light like a red/brownish and only lasted 2 days approximately and my periods normally last up to 5-6 days and are quite heavy. 2 weeks later I have come back on again this time seems normal I'm quite heavy. Has anyone else had this problem or similar and would you say it's something to worry about I just want to talk to people with the same situation so I feel comfortable and can kinda put my mind at rest a little.
Avatar n tn Lisinopril has been assigned to pregnancy category D by the FDA for use during the second and third trimesters and to category C during the first trimester. Animal and human data have revealed evidence of embryolethality and teratogenicity associated with angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.
Avatar f tn re not also busy diagnosing and treating the flu and heart problems and body pain etc. So theoretically they become much more expert in it and the interactions between drugs and things like quitting smoking and also in the appropriate drugs to prescribe for a certain condition. Beta blockers, for example, have only been found effective for social anxiety, which doesn't mean they don't work for some people for other things but that's not their main use in anxiety treatment.
