Common Questions and Answers about Propecia brain fog

propecia

Avatar n tn I have not taken any of these products for several years now. However, the brain fog seemed to develop while taking Minoxidil and perhaps Propecia. As time passes I hear more and more about the negative health effects of these drugs. Basically I have no clue where to begin, I am frustrated both with my symptoms and doctors inability to help. I have considered things like STD's, Lyme Disease, Toxic Mold Poisoning and even tried to pursue these things.
Avatar f tn When does it go away? I'm now on my 4th week on 90mg of Armour and still have really bad brain fog. Will it go away when I get to my optimal dose? Can't tell you how many times I'll walk into a room not knowing what I'm there for. Everyday blends into itself so I have no clue what happened on what day. Gotta say, when you think every weekday is Wednesday it's always cool when you find out it's Friday.

Avatar f tn I have had blood tests come back normal, but I know there is something wrong. I'm awake, but don't feel like I'm awake. I have been experiencing such a weird "brain fog" & I don't know now else to describe it. I have a feeling I could be experiencing perimenopause. My dr put me on a birth control pill that I took for almost two weeks & had to stop taking it bc it affected my legs & I was worried about blood clots.
427265 tn?1444076436 Brain fog is also called "chemo" brain. It's from the medications, especially interferon, I believe. Yes it can cause all the symptoms you mention in your posting. It is from ammonia in the brain. You doctor can give you a prescription for Lactulose for it (especially if you are constipated). You can also take L-ornithine. They say it does go away in time. I know a friend who had chemo 4 years ago for cancer and he still has chemo brain.

400308 tn?1204247129 Thanks Jim, why doesn't he fly your way! I do hope he isn't a pilot. That wouldn't be good with brain fog. My brain fog was so bad sometimes I wouldn't drive. It would seem that a leave of absence would be the way to go, or cut your losses as Jim says and try again when the PI come out and tx is shorter.

Avatar m tn Hi, The fog could be from over studying and just plain brain fatigue. But, it could be something neurological. I have brain fog and its from neurology. It is written that reading helps slow down such episodes if you are experiencing fog based on neuorological anomaly. Have you seen a doc or neuro specialist?

Avatar f tn I have headaches and pain in my lower abdomen most of the time, but the worst is this brain fog. I noticed the last couple of days, whenever I stop at stop signs or red lights, i go several feet past the sign. My brakes are fine. Someone mentioned my perception could be off from the meds.
Avatar f tn Interferon causes brain fog but i am not really sure why. This article is about hep c causing brain fog, not tx. But the second paragraph talks about the bodies natural interferon going into overdrive as a possible cause for hep c fog. Have never really seen anything else on the why though. http://www.hcvadvocate.org/hepatitis/factsheets_pdf/Brain%20Fog.
Avatar f tn One night I woke up and had terrible ear/jaw pain especially when opening my mouth. Shortly after, I had an onset of brain fog symptoms -- I just feel out of it, a little woozy and disoriented. Besides the ear pain, my head does not hurt. Furthermore, since these symptoms occurred, I have been feeling a bit of neck and upper back discomfort. I went to a nurse at my school and she mentioned that I have a little bit of fluid in the side with the ear/jaw pain.

Avatar m tn My brain fog: difficulty concentrating, moody, lethargic -- it feels like I don't fully awaken Symptoms: - Difficulty getting out of bed due to a tired, lazy feeling (but, I do awaken without an alarm) - The problem is mostly related to mental energy and not physical energy - The lazy feeling continues through the day, but slowly diminishes as the day progresses - By afternoon I am functional, sometimes feel pretty good - In the evening I feel good - Symptoms are very consistent and the wo
Avatar m tn Hello again, I am still expierncing this brain fog thing along with the sypmtom getting worse. I am on alprazolam and it really does not even help. I really do not think it has anything to do with anexity but I could be wrong. The only thing that I have noticed that has changed is I am always sick to my stomach, vision is funny, as well as when I walk I hear a constant clicking in my ears. I am worried that this is something that will not be able to be cured.

My chest feels better but my brain fog is still somewhat here. It comes on when I start to exert myself. Today I took a nap and when I woke up I felt almost normal again. Can anyone help me and let me know what is going on with my body it is really depressing.

907968 tn?1292622204 So, While there reading this thread I remembered there was mention on the thyroid forum about Brain Fog and at the time I read the thyroid thing I thought Brain Fog was something else and not quite me. So, again, Is Brain Fog part of hypothyroidism? and if so What is Brain Fog? just in case it is something different from the ear problem "brain fog".
