prometrium for period

I had an IUI a few weeks ago and then started taking prometrium for ten days. I finished up last Wednesday so it has been 5 days. How long until I should expect my period after my last prometrium?

My Dr has prescribed Prometrium 200mgs to be taken for the 1st 5 days of my next period. Everything I have read about this is that it is usually prescribed for 10 days before your period, so I am confused. Also, he mentioned that Prometrium will help protect me from endometrial cancer and possibly breast cancer. I read that it may increase the risk of breast cancer so I am totally confused. Can someone help and offer advice? I am going for a 2nd opinion in December with another Ob/Gyn.

My cycle is nowhere to be seen (not totally uncommon for me) and my last period was in mid-December. My OB was fine with giving me an Rx for BC pills to induce a bleed, but when I called the RE's office, she said that I shouldn't start them and that we will talk about an alternate route at the appt. Now I'm just curious what types of drugs they would put me on? Are there stronger injectibles to induce a period?

I took Prometrium for 10 days ending Saturday, and I was wondering how long until I should begin my period? I am so ready to be able to start TTC!!

my doctor put me on prometrium. 1st month 10 days later i got my period. 2nd month 10 days later i only spotted for a day and no period. Did this happend to anyone? What could it be?

I talked to the doctor today who told me to stop the prometrium and I should expect my period in 2-3 days. I had my hopes up that perhaps I was pregnant because I know some women who have not gotten a positive on a home pregnancy test until a week after the expected period. I think I had my hopes up too much when the period was late when in fact it may have been the progesterone that was delaying my period. Has anyone had experience on progesterone like this?

I am on prometruim on days 14-28, my understanding is that it helps thicken the lining of your uterus and makes you have a period. If I actually get pregnant during a cycle obviously I won't know it until cycle day 28 or so - My question is will taking the prometruim make my cycle start even if I conceive therefore causing an abortion?? Does the prometruim function like birth control causing your cycle to start or will my period only start if I don't ovulate or conceive?

My husband and I are trying to concieve our second child. With my first child I was put on prometrium for the first trimester due to low progesterone levels. This month I thought there was a chance I was pregnant and he told me instead of taking it days 16-25 I should remain on it until I know for sure if I am pregnant. Everything is going great. I am on baby aspirin a day and 200mg 2x prometrium. its working for me! progesterone does an amazing job at holding pregnancies, and the baby asprin is to thin you blood so more goes to the uterus. This can also help if you have a blood clotting issue. i have never been tested for anything but i wanted to try 1 more time first with these medicines and i believe its really helping me.

I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes.

While taking Prometrium for luteal phase defect, I got several faint positives on home pregnancy tests. But then I began bleeding (light but steady full flow). So I stopped taking the prometrium. I've been bleeding for a few days now--still more than spotting though less than before. But I decided to take another home pregnancy test anyways because something felt funny. Two different brands of test were positive, darker than before but still quite faint. What do I do now?

I got mine the next day, as soon as I stopped prometrium I started spotting and the next day I got my AF.

Since my IUI i have been on Prometrium twice a day. My question is... will i get a period if not pregnant while taking Prometrium?

This is my first time posting a question so bear with me. I'm a 24 y/o F who has been trying to get pregnant since last April. I have very irregular and missed periods so my Dr. put me on 10 days of Prometrium. I had few side effects, fatigue, dizziness and some nausea. After the 10 days on the pill I am supposed to get my period and on day 3 of normal mentration return to the clinic for lab work to diagnose polycystic ovaries. It's been 7 days and no period yet.

-( The doc now has me on 5 days of prometrium, I think to facilitate a period and start the whole process over. Anyone know about prometrium being used to facilitate a period? How many days later should it start? Any side effects? Thanks for the help.

m on the last day of my 2 weeks of taking Prometrium to get my period back after Lupron. This morning while I was at a hair appointment, I started to get really dizzy and nauseous, and I felt really weak and faint. Then like 2 minutes later I ended up getting sick in the bathroom and lying on the bathroom floor in the salon with horrible lower stomach pain feeling like I was dying. She had to take the foils out of my hair and wash it out and my husband ended up having to come get me.

t have a clear O day, how long should I wait to be for sure I am not pregnant? Also if I continue on the prometrium will my Af eventually come? If I stop the prometrium too soon and am possibly pregnant would I lose the baby?

I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..

Yes, I have been told that prometrium suppositories do delay your period while you take them, but as soon as you stop them, if you are not pregnant, you will get your period in a couple of days.

Prometrium doesn't delay your period. It's supposed to make it start. Mine didn't start until 2 weeks after I took the last pill, which I think is normal.

If you are taking prometrium for 3 straight weeks is just Wrong. You take progesterone only for 5 days and you get the period like 1 week after the last pill. Talk to your doctor about it.

Doc has prescribed me the prometrium 200 mg for 5 days to stop.Then he is asking me to take clomid100 for this cycle3. Has any one taken Prometrium for abnormal bleeding? and if so did this medicine really works??.Thanks for any advice, it's very much appreciated.

t work then he would put me on birth control for 2 months because that would help also. Well the Prometrium (I took for 12 nights in a row) ended up working and I got pregnant with the ovulation that occured right after taking the Prometrium. I don't know what provera is (depo?), but you might want to ask him about that. I also don't know anyting about ovulex.

A little over a week ago I had a canceled IUI due to too many follicles and very high estrogen. Since then I've been taking 200mg Prometrium twice a day (to bring on my period I think). Also since then, I've had a lot of pain in my breasts. It seems to be getting a little bit better but I thought if it was related to the high estrogen it would be gone by now. It's still very much present. Did anyone ever experience this and is it normal? Thanks!

But my doc told me to start trying after I get two periods after my last Lupron shot. And she gave me Prometrium to get my period back quicker because it didn't come back on its own. My thing is that I don't want to wait any longer I want to try now!!
