prometrium and alcohol

I had 2 miscarriages in the past and with this one i went on prometrium and baby aspirin although nothing was ever diagnosed either. i did not experience any bleeding as a side effect of the prometrium though. have you had a scan yet?

I had an IUI a few weeks ago and then started taking prometrium for ten days. I finished up last Wednesday so it has been 5 days. How long until I should expect my period after my last prometrium?

I took 400mg of prometrium a day and shots every other day for the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy.

I have never engaged in any sexual activities and do not understand how I got this disease. I took Prometrium in the past to regulate my menstruate cycle. I did some research on this drug and one of side effects for this drug is Herpes. Is it possible this medicine could cause a false positive or a positive blood results for Herpes Type 2?

I went through an ovulation induction cycle and was put on prometrium (progesterone) to support a healthy lining. I am now 20 days past ovulation, no period, and three negative home pregnancy tests (it is now day 33 of my cycle and I am typically a 28 day cycle, like clockwork). I talked to the doctor today who told me to stop the prometrium and I should expect my period in 2-3 days.

I have had a migraine every day starting at around noon and lasting until I go to bed. I took prometrium prior to pregnancy for period induction which i took for 10 days and i would get a "withdrawl" migraine for a day or two. Have any of you ladies experienced this? I'm really getting sick of taking tylenol every 4 hours but my head throbs so bad i can't see straight if i don't. I called my doc today and of course he's out of the office.

They only took my progesterone levels once after I started the Prometrium to make sure it was theraputic and it was in the 20's don't remember exactly. But they haven't taken it again. But I've had 4 ultrasounds where we have seen baby's heartbeat and everything is well.

5 mg day 3-7, followed by overlap Gonal F 150 units day 6-10, IUI April 25 and 26 (Sunday, Monday) and about to start Prometrium tonight. My Beta is on May 9th. Good luck to everyone! Here's hoping to keeping each other sane and a BFP soon!

Hi Elaine, So after 3 miscarriages I am pregnant (age 38) again with great hcg. And went for my 1st ultrasound at 6 weeks yesterday and they found the fetal pole and the hb was 116 bpm. So Im very happy... I would like to continue to have sex with my partner but do you think its safe? Could it cause a miscarriage? Also I\m on prometrium until 13 weeks so I;d hate to miscarry after sex and not know it.. Thank you.

The levels were 23oo last week thrusday and abput 4300 this monday. Progesterone dropped form 8.2 to 6.8. I am on 200 mg of prometrium and praying.

I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes. I stopped taking the prometrium th week before I called her.

t have any symtoms yet except feeling tired and irritablity. Do you take Prometrium? could be from that. Clomid since you took it for awhile, it's will not stay in your system by now. I am on Prometrium for 15 days after IUI. Let's hope for BFP. the mind does plays trick on us and makes us think we are pregnant. Just relax and wait until your AF due..... I will take my HPT on 5/26.

Does anyone know if you're taking Prometrium, and you are miscarrying, can the prometrium prevent any sign of the m/c ? i.e. can it prevent spotting/bleeding/cramping , or will the m/c go through anyway.?

I just checked online on the FDA government website and prometrium IS FDA approved.

t know should I find another doctor....Would it be OK to come off Prometrium all of a sudden and I should reduce my dosage to once a day...Please help..so confused...

Wow, actually, I had no side effects from Clomid as well, and I had u/s where they saw one mature follicle developed and then trigger shot and then IUI...so I guess I ovulated.. and my lining was good but I guess they still give you that prometrium pill just to keep lining good..

also u might want to talk to your dr about prometrium (sp) it is suppose to help with making it easier for baby to latch and hold on. I have had 3-4 mc. i was on it for 1 of them. Gl.

This month I had beta friday got a BFP HCG was only 8, went back Monday and still an 8. They took me off the prometrium again and I go back next Monday so I am really not sure what is going on. I hope everything works out for you.

My level recently went from 2025 to 1871 in 2 days. I have had increased spotting and some bleeding in the past week. I had an ultrasound on Spetember 2 which showed 5 week gestational sac, but empty (5 weeks corresponds to date of my LMP). I also have a question about progestrone levels. My progesterone levels fell from 53 to 25 to 16 prior to knowing my HCG levels. Does falling progesterone cause or contribute to falling HCG levels?

y current pregnancy I started prometrium at 3 days past ovulation and continued with it til 12 1/2 weeks and am now 26 weeks. It is best to have it started as early as possible but it does help if there aren't still other issues with the baby. I will tell you that it made my morning sickness much worse than with any of my other pregnancies and my breasts were extremely sore and I was always exhausted until I came off the meds.

I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..

I do not know what to give you advise, but the best is call your doctor and ask for their opinion. I think if prometrium helps, then dr will keep you on the med. call them and ask them. update with us.
