acne

Avatar f tn Using acne products is sort of like dying your hair during pregnancy Theyre not sure of how much of the chemicals is absorbed and if they harm the baby etc. Different drs have different takes on if theyre okay to use or not. The best advice i can give you is to tell your dr your using it, and use it after your out of the first trimester because thats when the anatomy is forming. I use stridex pads occasionally because i get acne a lot ): it *****.
Avatar f tn is it ok to use proactiv+ cleansing body bar with salicylic acid acne treatment?

Avatar f tn Hi I'm n my 5th week now and for years I have been using proactive facewash, content s benzoyl peroxide and another acne ointment. Does it affect my pregnancy anyway.
281603 tn?1229311681 i use Mk timewise also :) ............ i've used it for a long time but twice during pregnancies i wasn't able to use it... but last pregnancy and this time its been fine! but i also use the acne treatment gel which has 5% bezoyl peroxide in it and someone said that you shouldn't use anything with that in it. i was just wondering if that was true.
Avatar f tn I had other side effects from birth control so I decided to get off of it and the acne returned. I tried everything OTC for acne. I even tried proactive and it did nothing for me. So then I realized it was related to my hormones. I found a natural treatment. It's an herb called vitex fruit. It can take a couple of your cycles to take affect. It works by balancing your hormones naturally with your pituitary gland. It had natural estrogen properties.
Avatar f tn My 17 year old son was diag. with ALL Leukemia on his 16th Birthday (18 months ago). He is a St. Jude's patient, in remission and doing well. His protocol will continue through Sept. '09. He currently has bad acne (adolescent acne, not associated with his dia. or a treatment side effect) . We have seen a dermotologist (under guidance of his Oncologist) and been prescribed Accutane. My question is concerning his taking the Accutane along with his chemo meds.
Avatar m tn Hello, Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
5958897 tn?1426798528 I'm also experiencing acne. I use erythromycin topical gel prescribed by my dermatologist as well as Mario Badescu acne wash. Sort of helps.
304970 tn?1331425994 re having such a hard time w/acne. I suffered from severe acne from age 16-19 and it was really difficult. I still get bad breakouts at 25 and, now that I'm pregnant, things aren't any better! I can tell you a few tips that I used back in the day, and that I use now: - Always use a clean towel to pat (don't rub) your face dry after washing. I keep a stack of clean washcloths on the counter just for drying and use a new one every night. - Don't wash more than twice a day.

341551 tn?1266980730 I've pretty much told everyone on here that my acne is bad and only getting worse!! It seems to be only on my forehead with minimal breakouts on my chin and cheeks. But its horrible!! I've never had bad skin so I don't really know what to do. I wash my face twice a day, use moisturizer and that doesn't seem to help. A couple people suggested Proactiv...saying that within a couple treatments it took care of their acne for the longest time..but they don't know I'm Pregnant.
Avatar f tn Did any of you girls get acne during your pregnancy? My face is starting to break out.
Avatar f tn I use a salicylic acid (oil free) wash daily and I change my pillow cases, make sure my hats are clean, fresh razor when I shave my head, etc. nothing is really working to clear it up. Is there anything else in turns of treatment? Any advice would be great, thanks!
Avatar f tn One of my old girlfriends had an acne problem and she tried using that Proactive product you see advertised on television and it worked well for her. That's the physical part of the equation - the other part is mental. I remember how difficult high school can be. I didn't have acne, but I did have another problem called hyperhidrosis - it's basically when your sweat glands go into overdrive.
