anorexia

785277 tn?1244324809 I cant quite seem to be any type of eating disorder consisently. For a couple of days I'll not eat at all, to where i'd be considered anorexic if i was underweight, and then for the next few days I won't have any control over what I'm eating- binging and purging. How can I stick to one routine? I do have some weight to lose, and I'm not going to be looking at any professional help anytime soon. Anyone have any tips on sticking to one routine?
1310561 tn?1285863461 Anorexia is an eating disorder and is very hard on you body. While you are young now and it might not seem important, anorexia will cause issues as you get older, such as trouble with your periods, difficulty/inability to have children, as well as others.
Avatar f tn You say you've tried everything and that nothing works. That's what your telling yourself. Skinny doesn't happen over night you have to work for it and be strong. You can't honestly tell me that you stuck with a diet day after day being consistent and not cheating. You're looking for tips? This is not the place first off and secondly if you didn't manage to lose weight dieting because you were not motivated, lazy, and inpatient.
Avatar f tn Please see a nutritionist (you may need a referral from your doctor) to find out how to safely lose weight and what a safe weight goal for you would be. Thanks for reaching out for help here and I hope will not go down the destructive path of an eating disorder that can kill. If you feel you have underlying emotional issues leading you in this direction, now's the time to take the next step and get counselling professionally- if you are a Christian, from a Biblical counselor.
Avatar n tn You don't need to lose weight anywhere, you need to work on your self-confidence and how you feel about yourself; the problem isn't physical, it's mental. Trust me girl, I've been there! I never thought that being 20 pounds heavier would make me happier, but it has! I don't know what to tell you other than to see a counsellor, there can be some good ones that do "pro-bono" work - that is, free of charge, they are normally volunteer services.
6811971 tn?1385557755 i know this is like years later but since this is 2020 and i'm like finding out what types of eating disorders and i find this one like interesting. for me its different, i have a problem with eating to much and eating more and more and i'm kinda want to be over with. i want to have a perfect body like these models out here and everyone's pressuring me to lose weight and saying your fat, stop eating, i just keep eating and eating.
Avatar f tn / Though I think the first thing to do is lose any water weight you have by drinking a lot of water regularly (I've got an app on my phone which tells me how much water I should be drinking each day and that helps motivate me) also record what you eat and it's nutritional values (I also have an app for this) and don't skip breakfast! Then just do leg exercises (e.g. squats, lunges) often.
5061022 tn?1363018223 I have recently removed myself from my fitness pal and tumblr because it is an ED breading ground! It is where I would go to get tips and encouragement. I am trying to get away from doing it as I have had it under control for the past year and it was recently triggered again in January. I have been dealing with it since the 8th grade and I am now a college junior....its a constant battle and I hate it....I am trying so hard right now to fight losing weight the right way....
Avatar f tn So I'm a 16 year old girl, about 5'5' and 110lbs. I'm on a calorie restricting diet and exercising a lot to lose weight. My family doesn't know and I can't talk to them about it due to circumstances i cannot discuss. My one friend who knows about this tells me I'm on the verge of anorexia and people at school are talking about me saying how skinny I'm getting. When people originally told me this I took it as a compliment, now I find it embarrassing.
Avatar m tn SOME SAY THE PERCOCET CAUSED WEIGHT GAIN. OTHER SAY IT CAUSES WEIGHT LOSE. WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO KNOW WHICH IS THE CASE. WORKS WELL FOR PAIN BUT WON;T BE ABLE TO KEEP TAKING IT IF IT CAUSES WEIGHT GAIN.
918035 tn?1274644533 You sound like you are at a very low point if you think you need to continue to lose weight. I am afraid for your life. I know you don't want to tell your family but they have a right to know so they can help you. Are you religious at all? Maybe you should try prayer and programs at churches that give counseling to people with addictions. You need to talk to someone about all of this, someone needs to hold you accountable for your actions.
Avatar f tn Many people with anorexia nervosa, due to trauma in their pasts, want to lose weight for the complete opposite reason, to look sexually unattractive. In my own case, because of a lifetime of being raped and abused, I wanted to become emaciated so that men would find me unattractive and would be sexually repulsed by me, so that they would leave me alone. I hope that by losing weight the abuse might stop.
Avatar f tn After searching for the right combination of medicine for my bipolar illness because I was often non-compliant to my medication regimen due to weight gain, I found the right mix with Wellbutrin/Geodon. However, though I lost weight on the combination ( I weighed 107 pounds on a 5'1" frame), I was diagnosed with an eating disorder (anorexia with binge eating).
Avatar n tn Right now she is at a healthy body weight but she would still like to lose some pounds. the thing is she has been trying to lose them normally through exercise and diet but since her metabolism is so shot from her bad anorexia its extremely difficult for her and that only makes it worse. i really don't like seeing her this upset. any advice?
Avatar n tn To address your concern about gaining lots of weight in fat, I want to be very careful. There is such thing as Anorexia Athletica, or Athletica Nervosa, which is a very real type of eating disorder which involves compulsive exercise. This goes hand in hand with something called the Female Athlete Traid which includes 1. Disordered eating (this can include anorexia athletica) 2. Amenorrhea (mestruation stops or changes) 3. Osteoporosis.
Avatar f tn Omg me too! I weigh 143lbs but it's all round my face and stomach which looks stupid with my normal legs! I'm going to use this app, eat "clean" and exercise EVERDAY low intensity to fat burn I think heart rate at 129 and then do a half hour toning sesh, haha optimistic! I hope I stick to it I am the worst at sticking to things!!!
Avatar f tn m no expert but I would say your in the begginging or middel stage. You are one pound under weight and I take you by what you said you want to lose weight so my guess is yes. But I would talk to your doctor because no one online can diagnose you. You need to see a profeshanal doctor. And try posting this in the eating disorders fourm!!!
Avatar n tn I am a 40 year old female who have recently starting taking a weight loss supplement to help me lose weight. I have been exercising faithfully for the past 3 months. I try to exercise about 2.5 - 3 hours a day. I have noticed within the past 3-4 days that when I am on the Ellipitcal Trainer, my toes, finger tips and lips go numb and my lips turn purple. I have read about Reynauds and did not know if this is what I had or not.
Avatar f tn I was looking for diet tips and exercises to lose a little bit of weight I do not want to lose a lot for that would be unhealthy. I am looking for things that worked for other people. However, I do not want surgery there is no point to it only if i had to lose a lot I can live with the little extra flab. Weight loss surgery I believe is the last method to lose weight and its only for individuals that have a lot to lose.
Avatar f tn I'm a 16 year old female and I am barely ever hungry. I do feel hunger only in the morning and around 2-3 hours after I eat breakfast. I usually eat two handfuls of cereal with milk. When it comes to dinner, I'll take a few bites and I'll immediately feel full and nauseous. However I can eat a lot of sweets and salty things like crisps without a problem. A doctor told me that this is anorexia but I don't want to lose weight or feel bad about my body or anything like that.
