I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).

I live in the uk. Is there a private mri scan centre where I can book an appointment for a thyroid scan?. Also does anybody know where i can have a thyroid re-uptake test done privately?.

as my symptoms persisted and i had been battling on my own with help from family i arranged a private 3t mri, problem is the radiologist had wrote i had 1 lesion at the subcortial white matter frontal lobe and several schmorl nodes on thiariac spine. Then when i went to neuro they stated normal. then my optician says i had some lesions in white matter.

Hi guys I wanted to know if anyone knows where to get a private head MRI scan done in the Birmingham region. this was done under private health care,i didnt renew my private care so have been going to my local nhs hospital in london..they done blood tests bone scane and mri scans but say they cant find any thing wrong!! when i show them the report from the private hospital i was seen at they just say.theres nothing wrong!! they gave me pain killers and discharged me.im not happy with this.

But over the past 12 months I have started to learn a bit of what thing cost, and it appears that even if you go private they are considerabley cheaper than in the US which to me dosen't seem quite right. In the Uk it is only a tiny percentage of people go private and even if you do, if you are suffering a long term illness you tend to be pushed over to the NHS as they have the specialists and equipment.

t book MRI scans without sending a letter to a consultant ,who on deciding whether i needed on or not ,marked it down as routine even though my GP had requested an urgent scan.In the end my parents had to pay out £200 for a private scan. After a referral letter , from my GP ,i was referred to a pediatric consultant who examined me and then organised a blood test and a MRI scan.The results of the blood test were normal and the scan showed the same as the private one .

Hi have been suffering for 3yr and i went on line and decided to have private blood work done i had freet3, freet4 TSH iron panel and iodine which cost which cost £220 I done in on line with blue horizon and was sent to harley st for blood to be taken oh in london uk but they have places they can send you all over uk My doctor dont seem to think it was any use as he only go with TSH and say its other think that are going on with me like IBS and fibermolagi so I am at a lost the only think left

I have recently had an MRI scan and the report has indicated that I have a L5/S1 circumferential disc bulge whih displaces the exiting L5 nerve roots bilaterally.. On the left this effaces the perineural fate and contacts the L5 nerve root. A neurosurgeon has apparently reviewed my scan and said there is no evidence of this disc bulge without even seeing me and suggested tertherd cord syndrome should be investigated..

Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.

My suggestion would be to call around and ask both private and public MRI clinics if they offer it. I had this discussion with a fellow Chiarian and after some calling around, she managed to find a clinic that did one in Vancouver (BC). Though you may have more success back East with this, it may come down to having to go privately and paying for it.

My GP was unhappy about this and said I should make a complaint so I did To cut along story short I was diagnosed in London with POTS and hypermobility syndrome (2012) but because I had ataxia they sent me fro MRI .My MRI showed a couple of lesions in the frontal lobes.

For me money isnt an issue (im blessed i get to say that and pray it stays that way) if i get a private scan i plan on getting the package with 2 visits so id find the gender out now and get to come back later in my pregnancy to see the more mature face.

If you go to see a private neurologist, they will want a copy of your MRI anyway. Why not, as a first step, get your MRI CD which shows all the images, plus you should get a copy of the report as well. Reading through the report a few times might help you decide on a direction. I've learned that keeping a copy of EVERYTHING is really important, whether you go private or public. I actually was less than confident in an MRI I had, and got a second opinion online from a radiologist.

Any fellow Canadians able to recommend a good discreet private screening clinic. Keen so my gf won't suspect. I plan to get tested in London when on an assignment.
