pristiq with zoloft

SAME WITH ME, JUST STARTED PRISTIQ TODAY FROM ZOLOFT.

First morning, I had little nausea for an hour but didint have really side effects. But I have extrasystoles everyday since. I had that with effexor and pristiq in the past. My doc told me brintelix wouldnt be suppose to give me that when she prescribed it to me. So im asking, could this be cause by the new med or from the quitting of zoloft! Im scared to make an heart attack or something! I just dont kow what to do cause it scares me a lot!

I dont know how common it is but in itself it doesnt sound like a weird combo.Think its good though youre going for a second opinion.

My doctor put me on pristiq and I am afraid to take it. I took Zoloft while pregnant and stopped about a month after my daughter was born. I felt good then. Then my gp put me on Lexapro and that zonked me out. Back to Zoloft again. I feel just like the depression commercials describe. I hate it. I just would like to know if anyone has been taking it and how you feel on it.

Hi. I tried Pristiq in an attempt to help with menopausal symptoms. I was (and am) on Effexor XR, and Pristiq is almost identical to Effexor XR. I think the only difference is in their molecules. I didn't find Pristiq any better (for me) than Effexor XR, so I went back to Effexor XR. I wish you the best of luck with it. I hope it works for you.

But did you wean off of it as you introduced the Pristiq? If not you may be having with withdrawal from the Prozac combined with the side effects of starting a new medication. Or it may just be that Pristiq is not for you. Talk to your doctor about these side effects, they're pretty scary and you need to know what to do at this point where medication is concerned. What works for one may not for another. I wish you all the best with this.

helped more and has had less side effects than anyother I have been on. I have also tried zoloft, prozax, paxil, and wellbutrin xr. Anyways, I was just wondering what expeirences anyone else has had on abilify? I know it effects everyone different but.....

I would think Lexapro would have been the next logical choice after Zoloft, and Prozac before Zoloft. The reason Zoloft was prescribed most likely is it appears to be the most effective for anxiety, and the next drug that came on the market, Paxil, is, along with Effexor, the most difficult drugs out there. But there was still Celexa and its newer version Lexapro to try. Buspar isn't an antidepressant, it's supposedly anti-anxiety, but hasn't proven to work well.

Well he also gave me Xanax to take. I have only taken it a few times, I took Zoloft a while back and couldn't handle the side effects so I went back and he put me on Effexor. I have been more shaky and anxious and upset stomach... the same thing happened on the Zoloft. I don't want to be on this med any longer bcus of the bad experience I had with the Zoloft. I have been looking and the pristiq is almost just like the Effexor, I don't know what to do!?!?!?

I am on zoloft which does not help with my anxiety, does adding abilify help with the anxiety and the depression?

THIS IS MY 3RD DAY TAKING PRISTIQ. I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT THE BEST TIME OF THE DAY TO TAKE IT. I TOOK ZOLOFT 200 MGS. FOR 10 YEARS AND TAKE 6 MG. XANAX A DAY FOR PANIC ATTACKS. AFTER COMING OFF OF ZOLOFT I FEEL NAUSEATED, GET LIGHT-HEADED, AND HAVE ONLY SMOKED THREE CIGARETTES IN TWO FULL DAYS. I HAD TO LEAVE WORK EARLY MY FIRST DAY ON PRISTIQ FROM NAUSEA AND STOMACH PAIN, 2ND DAY I TOOK PRISTIQ, I WAS EXHAUSTED AND WENT HOME RIGHT AFTER WORK AND WENT TO BED ABOUT 6 P.

I switched from Prozac to Pristiq when my Prozac pooped out on me after 20 years. I have OCD with panic disorder and was in a bad way with horrible panic and anxiety. The Pristiq worked well but slow. My Doc raised my doses in 50 ml increments until I got up to 200 ml. I felt better little bits at a time but it really kicked in at 200 ml. It goes slow but it does work. Don't give up on it too soon. Don't be afraid to go up in dosage a little bit at a time.

Trying to treat her anxiety, Dr prescribed Pristiq to which after 4 days her side effets were too much for her, showed a glimpses of calmness however would wake up feeling agitated and out of sorts. It even took 2-3 days to get over withdrawl of pristiq even from such a short period.

Well I was on celexa then switched to zoloft then switched to pristiq...all in a time frame of a year and half. I been taking the pristiq 3 weeks now went on it straight from zoloft. I was taking it for anxiety/panic. I did a good tapering plan I am doing it very slowly now. i tried doing it cold turkey and I thought my life was over. I spoke with the doctor and said ti was ok to do it that way. I just am so afraid whenever I stop to feel this way!

My doctor (who I think is brilliant and I feel very comfortable with) told me he has placed many of his other patients on Pristiq with good results. As I mentioned previously, it is supposed to have very few side effects, if any; but of course every body is different. If you do not trust your doctor, maybe you could get a second opinion.

i take clonazepam which is the only thing that works, but every couple of years i hit a wall and need to up the antidepressant. been on zoloft, paxil, celexa,effexor, lyrica, cipralex(lexapro), maoi's, etc..wondering if pristiq works, or maybe cymbalta? only snri i was on was effexor, which didn't do much but also had a brutal psych. any info would be helpful. thank you.

Since July we have tried 2 of those, Pristiq and Zoloft. Pristiq was doing ok until I started having increased anxiety and some of my fingers were jumping. I came off and started on Zoloft. Zoloft caused me to wake up early each morning with horrible anxiety and my stomach in knots and I literally felt like I was shaking on the inside. It was a horrible few weeks. My doc decided to put me back on Celexa.

thanks for the comment..very true on the benzo's. Multiple addiction is very difficult to manage when Effexor..narcotics..AND benzos have always been prescrided and taken as directed for 2-3 decades. I beleave they would call this terminal addiction?

*shrug* My only other experience with this feeling is when I was coming off of zoloft a few years ago. I had these same shocky feelings, along with some waking dreams/nightmares. it was a difficult drug for me to detox from ... it ended up taking months longer than it should have. but I am not coming off of anything right now, and i am not even changing doses (or missing doses.) But this feeling is very uncomfortable. Any ideas?

I just recently got on Pristiq 50mg and have had a migraine everyday since. (10days). I initially started with 25mg and did not get any migraines. For about 10 years, I was on Zoloft and had about 8-12 migraine days a month. I got off it last year and my migraines went down to 1-3 a month. I had no idea the Zoloft was the cause until I discontinued it. Unfortunately my panic started coming back and I really need the antidepressant.

I was tapering off paxil because it stopped working after almost ten years the doctor stated me on zoloft an after two and a half weeks I started having the worst panic attacks. the doctoc said it was to stimulating. dose anyone have any suggestions on what will help for bad anxiety ???

I told myself give this another try with a new Dr. He put me on xanax for bed with a dose of zoloft. That lasted about 2 weeks! The xanax helped but the zoloft was making me crazy. I then got prescribed lexapro HORRIBLE for me. My Dr then put me on viibryd for about 4 months and it was too much, I thought I was going to pass out and die. At this point I took my butt to the Dr and told him firmly that I think there is something else wrong.

I have been taking zoloft 100mg for about 7 years originally because of a bad breakup with a boyfriend. Now I am feeling super weird. A couple months ago Rite Aid stopped carrying the same version I was taking and have a new manufacturer. I was feeling the withdrawals immediately and thought I should go back to the original manufacturer. Now I am completely unbalanced. When I take Zoloft I feel it zoom in my head, I am immediately hungry and lack any kind of sex drive.

Ok now someone in another post just told me that my doctor is nuts for switching me from zoloft straight to pristiq. I didn't wean off of zoloft. This is what she told me to do. It's been 4 days already...I take it for panic and anxiety. Now i'm freaking out that something is going to happen to me.

My doc did give me Strattera to try in combination with the pristiq. It is a non-stimulant and prob not as addictive. However, I am worried it wont have the same effects as the adderall has for me. Please I need help and advice from anyone who has been on strattera or knows anyone who has had success on it ???

My new doctor said they were the same thing and that I should drop Pristiq, which I did for a while with awful results. I went back to the doctor and explained what had been happening since I went off of it. He immediately put me back on it and said that since it was working for me, he could find no research that said that it should not be done, just that it normally wasn't.

My husband abruptly stopped taking his Zoloft several weeks ago without discussing with me prior. He thought he was gaining too much weight while on the medication. I have been in pure hell for the last month. Our relationship is going down the tubes and I can't seem to get through to him. He has lashed out repeatedly at me and has no patience with our son. I feel like his anxiety/depression has reached a worse place than it was even before he began anti depressants.

My only complaint with Pristiq is that at 100Mgs a day dosage I have sexual side effects from it. I am male and it has reduced my sex drive by about 50% which I hate. The side effects of stopping Pristiq are much the same as with Effexor. They can be rough as I once ran out for two days and had withdrawls.
