Can pristiq cause a normal blood pressure to go up extremely high?I was taking Savella 50mgs twice daily and blood pressure went to 180/100.Stopped it and went on Pristiq 50mgs once daily.Went to Dr. and blood pressure was 179/93.Are these meds casuing this?I have always had normal blood pressure.I am obese and have family history of high blood pressure.I have taken cymbalta and quite a few years ago took effexor xr and didn't have any probelms with blood pressure.

Has anyone with pre existing hypertension & fibro tried savella? If so, has your bp spiked at all? I'm afraid to try it for that reason. I took Pristiq for about 4 weeks and my blood pressure which was well under control went out of control, so I had to get off the medicine. I know it works in the same ways, and I know everyone is different, I'm just checking. I previously tried Lyrica & Cymbalta, which both made me feel worse than I did with the Fibro and Fatigue.

It is also considered to be safe to use oral contraceptives containing estrogen if your blood pressure is well-controlled. If your blood pressure is fairly labile, you may be better off with a progestin only method. The mini-pill is less effective than regular preparations. Depo-provera is effective, but watch out for weight gain that could worsen blood pressure issues, and take calcium supplements in addition. Hope this helps!

There has to be better options out there so I am wondering why anyone would take this medication? i have major depressive disorder, dysthimic disorder, and panic disorder. i am on 10 mg lisinopril daily (blood pressure), klonopin 1 mg 3 x daily, pristiq 50 mg daily, lyrica 200 mg daily, protonix 40 mg daily, and 7.5/325 mg of norco 3 x daily. I've never had performance issues until a few days ago with a new relationship that i dont want to **** up because she is a very positive and awesome person. im freaking out about being 26 yrs old and having performance issues.

The meds your taking will cause you to feel tired. Are you taking the Seroquel at night or in the morning? I've heard it's best to take it at night because it can be very sedating. Toporal will keep your heart rate and blood pressure down, which I'm sure you already know. What dose of Seroquel are you taking?

hylands restless legs is for restless leg syndrome,that feeling you get in your legs like you gotta move them all the time when you are at rest,like something is crawling under your skin and you just gotta move,how long have you been taking pristiq? if I'm not mistake it is an antidepressant isn't it? Does your doctor know you are trying to stop if not you should contact him or her and they should set you up with a taper plan,how long were you taking it?

Wellbutrin, Effexor and Cymbalta all made my blood pressure and heart rate go up. I take a low dose of Paxil and my BP and HR are just fine. Take care.

I am on Armour Thyroid for Hypothyroidism, Pristiq for depression, Protonix for GERD and HRT. I know the Pristiq can cause it, but the dry mouth started years after I started the Pristiq. But I think this drug is more like an ssri than an snri, which is what effexor and pristiq are. Keep in mind effexor and pristiq are almost identical drugs, with pristiq just eliminating some of the molecules in order hopefully to reduce side effects but mostly to get new patent protection. It's like Celexa and Lexapro. This class of drugs is stimulating as it targets norepinephrine as well as serotonin, and is usually not used for primary anxiety as a result.

I have been taking the pristiq now for over 3 months, and this is the newest add to my list (klonipin next newest at a little over 4 months -- the rest have been years.) I have just recently started getting these odd shocky type feelings through my arms, legs, sides, neck ... I really don't know how to describe tem, it's not quite electrical, but it's a good analogy. sometimes it almost just feels as if I can physically feel my blood moving through my veins.

hey everyone, today my psychiatrist switched me from 50mg of Pristiq to 37.5mg of Effexor XR, he said the 50mg of Pristiq was too much, anyone ever done this switch or have experiences on the 37.5mg of Effexor?

so I had to start taking it tonight and like 3 minutes after I took it my whole stomach starts like turning and feeling really weird like a nausious feeling but also like a lot of pressure. then right under my ribs i got a severe pain and now i keep getting chills and i feel really weak...i am also on Pristiq and in the past month or so i have felt absolutly no anxiety. So is this just anxiety or is it the medication reacting weird? Im scared..

I ended up on 100Mgs a day with Pristiq and took it for a good 5 months, it worked ok, but not well enough to cover my symptoms. I then got off Pristiq. (I must tell you that the withdrawl from Pristiq is very strong. MUCH worse than even with Cymbalta or Effexor. My best results were with Effexor XR (a couple years before the Cymbalta and pristiq problem) Effexor XR just worked much better.

m now on Pristiq which is Effexor metabolite. Pristiq is less side effects. Both may work differently. For me, Pristiq work better. Pristiq may also reduce sexual desire but not like Effexor. Also, it work differently from one to another. Google on Pristiq if it available where you live.

Just hot my thyroid levels at a good level. I switched from pristiq to cymbalta back in November. I am tired ALL the time. More than when my thyroid was out of whack. Could the cymbalta be causing this and if so, what if I took it at night?

Idk.. I'm having the same issue w/ Pristiq. What really boils my blood is that after googling for info on withdrawing from it, I now get pop up ads for Pristiq all the time and on websites I visit. OBVIOUSLY IM ALREADY TAKING YOUR PILL AND CANT GET OFF OF IT!! grr!!!
