1765695 tn?1313669583 Eicosanoids depending, on their source, can have positive and negative influences on our bodies. They may slow intravascular clotting which helps to prevent heart attacks and strokes, suppress inflammation preventing us from overreacting to allergens, dilate blood vessels reducing hypertension and increasing good blood delivery, control cell growth slowing the rapid growth of cancer cells That is good.
Avatar n tn , to prevent strokes or heart attacks). The other drugs mentioned are anticoagulants (which interfere with coagulant proteins such as Factor Xa -- they are usually used venous-side, e.g., preventing DVT after orthopedic surgery). Either type might be used for the in between, which is the heart: for AFib clotting/strokes. I don't know why your doc preferred to prescribe Plavix for DVT. But prasugrel and ticlopidine are next generation drugs of the same kind as Plavix.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, I've been having terrible panic attacks recently which have in turn increased my anxiety over heart disease, MI, heart failure, what have you, primarily due to the experience of symptoms during my panic attacks. I've gone to the doctor regarding my problems and I was sent to complete some blood work. Largely normal results in my lipid profile (save for HDL which was at 1.01) and my CBC came out normal too.
Avatar n tn oops i tried to post this in the doctor forums, i made a mistake sorry!
Avatar n tn What it does is prevent SCA, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and death which accompanies that. I suffered three near fatal heart attacks since the implant was done and knew that the device was not at fault. I was supposed to be on medications for my heart problems and ran out, so, I had the heart attacks. I also know that every seven years (or thereabouts) my device will need a battery replacement.
Avatar m tn I am a 48 year old white male, and I have already had a total of 5 heart attacks (all within the last 5 tears). At first my doctoer thought it was due to my low HDL, as it has been lower that 28 for the last 5 years. But after my last attack, about 3 months ago, the doctors are now thinking that my body is trying to reject the 3 stents the have pkaced in me. This last attack was pretty serious, and we are planning to have a defibri;ator implanted later this month.
1750814 tn?1311924289 this is now a few years later, just recently in march I started having panic attacks, massive ones. These panic attacks I have now are worse than the ones I had before... I still feel like I'm having a heart attack but now I can't move my hands, they buckle up and cant move it scares the hell out of me. I get tingling in my arms and face and nose, just total terror. It's starting to really bring me down, I feel like I am doomed.
Avatar f tn my father is 53 years old,he has alot of stints thru out his body and has had a triple bye pass.and he still get heart attacks. he has for about 4 months have been having numbness is his left shoulder and wont stop drinking every day.should he go see his doctor?
Avatar m tn This would include proper diet, rest and includes exercise (good for calming anxiety AND preventing heart disease!), then add meditation, yoga, deep breathing, spirituality, etc. You can consider adding counseling with a professional such as psychologist or counselor/therapist and learn triggers, coping skills, etc. And then there is the medical route. Your doctor can point you in the direction of a therapist and talk to you about medication if you can't combat this yourself.
1567139 tn?1295381938 with my heart racing over 150 for hours. I am not on a beta blocker which kind of helps keep the heart lower. I seen a psychologist because my endo swore that my thyroid would not causes these, but she was appalled by him. She said my panic attacks are not classical, and sound medically induced. She also said that if xanax did not help, that definitely suggests medical. This is what I have been telling them all along. I was not under any stress when my first attack happened.
Avatar f tn my husband does have a history of cardiac problems (open heart sx and 2 heart attacks) Also, I know cholesteral is helped w/ doet and meds, but does exercise play any part.
Avatar n tn It turns out, it had nothing to with my heart or blood pressure, I was just really wound up and it really effected me, but I felt like something was physically and medically wrong. It came out of nowhere. I was trying to stay calm, but nothing I could tell myself would help and I just kept getting even more panic and hotness, rapid heart-rate, and uncomfortable tingling, and dizziness. Are these typical of panic attack symptoms?
Avatar f tn Actually I heard garlic naturally kills off the gbs bacteria so you could be preventing yourself from having that later on! I also eat garlic on everything, it's yummy!
Avatar f tn Regular, daily exercise helps a lot with anxiety and preventing panic attacks, you are constantly burning up any extra adrenaline that is in your body. Also, make sure your breathing isn't shallow which tends to happen when these occur out of fear. Breathe slowly and deeply in thru your nose and slowly out of your mouth. You can do this throughout the day anytime your start to feel anxious. I know we feel like we are going to die or pass out, but we don't and they always pass.

Avatar m tn Hello All, My panic attacks have returned stronger and more frequent. This after no attacks and being off meds for almost two years. Last time my attacks were infrequent and rarely strong. I was treated with Xanax .25mg 1x daily (2x if needed) 10mg Paxil and .25mg Respidal. That worked for me and along with counseling I thought I had my anxiety beat. I had weened off of everything and all was well. Then my panic attacks started to return.
Avatar m tn The doctor said that my heart function was not reduced by much and he only gave me aspirin to help with the recovery. 3 months on I am fully recovered but I do still experience chest pain from time to time. The pain is not so server as when diagnoses was made but I am constantly worried that it may come back and I really don't understand the mild chest pain I still experience. The pain is either in the middle of my chest or slightly to the left of my chest.
Avatar f tn They did an EKG, chest X-ray and ran blood work to check my heart enzymes. All came back clear. They believe it is stress related anxiety attacks (although never had them before). Well, now I feel very strange, dizzy occasionally still and feel my heart thumping at times. I have no "pain" just kind of like a "ball" is in my chest and feel off. Sometimes visual things will make me dizzy as well.
Avatar n tn I do suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, but i just want to know if my heart rate will eventually go back down to normal. I've had ekg's and echo's in the past because i have palpitations, and everything is fine, i'm healthy, but i can't get this out of my head. Should i stop worrying? Is this normal?
Avatar n tn t think there was blockage, just no blood flow at all through the LAD. Cardiologist is baffled. Thinks my father should have been having heart attacks for a while and should be dead. No known high blood pressure. An EKG showed a 'thick heart', what ever that means. He has had reflux symptoms for about six mos. now. HELP!!!!!?????????? Doctor tried ballooning LAD with no success. Will try procedure again in the morning to see is any blood has started flowing.
Avatar m tn My heart was racing, heart palpatations, sick to stomach, hot flashes, trembleing, etc. Took a Xanax right away. Thank God for those! I've been under a lot of stress with on & off attacks since Wednesday. I'm explaining all of this just to let you know I understand what you're going through & you are certainly not alone.
17020225 tn?1455749597 I get anxious and overly emotional about pretty much everything, I get bad panic attacks, been to the ER for those near 10 times. I also have health anxiety, and mild ocd. I have taken pretty much all the anxiety medications for some period of time but quit using them after a short period for one reason or another. So I'm not sure which ones really work the best. But I do know when I tried lexapro it seemed to make me sick. I am currently on klonopin.
Avatar f tn m 21 years old, and I also take YAZ which I heart can cause heart attacks. Should I got to the doctor? Would I still have pain the next day?
