Common Questions and Answers about Prevent acne after waxing

acne

Avatar f tn You might want to try an after waxing antibacterial formula? I'm not sure I would use soap though, it is pretty drying on your skin.
Avatar f tn So I wax my upper legs and i get these little bumps, they are pinkish but not very dark in color. I don't know if this started before or after I started waxing but I know before I started I put some clean & clear on there I believe I had some leg acne? Or this may be the same thing. I suspect it's either acne, ingrown hairs, or some bacteria got into the exposed pore after waxing.
Avatar f tn Folliculitis and ingrown hair are common even after waxing. If you still want to go in for facial waxing ,then apply cold compresses(ice cubes wrapped in a towel) on the rash and take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or claritin. You can also apply calamine lotion on the rash. It will help in soothing the skin. A mild corticosteroid cream will also help. Also you can go in for laser hair removal which causes permanent reduction of hair and does not cause folliculitis also.
Avatar n tn The recipe contained brown sugar lemon juice and water. I waxed around my chin area and upper lip. After waxing within the 3 days after I developed red bumps in those areas. I am not sure if you can consider it rosacea or not. I have had acne prone skin for my whole life but recently got over it, so I am not stressed and worried as my skin is no longer clear. The bumps are very close together and feel very rough, they are also quite sore.

Avatar m tn really bad breakouts starting red, some have white heads that pop eventually...first I thought that waxing causes it and stopped, but nothing helps...no systems, nothing....I haven't had any amounts of stress, no real change in diet, I do take birthcontrol pills every couple of months, but break outs started before i started on them...I don't know what to do, it looks horrible....
Avatar n tn m a 29 yr old with pcos since 2001 and only ever sufferred from pelvic pains, irregular periods and acne. However, for the past 12months I have noticed hair on my tummy, chin and neck! I have tried all sorts to control this. Unfortunately, every birth control pill to regulate my hormones has just caused me more pain in my breasts n tummy, severe mood swings and serious anxiety even the lightest doses.
Avatar f tn ve always had bad acne, some weight issues, depression and excessive hair growth, but I never knew what it was until now. I'm fair skinned, and my hair is thick and black and there is so much of it! I'm so embarrassed by it. I could shave in the morning and come back home after school and shave again. I started shaving my arms, legs and bikini line around 12 and now it's exhausting and unbearable to keep up with.
Avatar f tn after waxing i got a reaction red bumps in my face.. what can i do to get red bumps go away?
610184 tn?1225612790 Hi, You should avoid using a deodorant directly to your under arm skin, avoid shaving or waxing the area for some time. These could be the cause of your symptoms. Try to avoid sweat accumulation at the sites and use a powder. Keep the area clean and wear lose, comfortable clothes. Since when have you noticed the lesion? This could be some insect bite, eczema or bacterial skin infection or dermatitis.
Avatar f tn About 3 weeks ago i noticed a small painful bump on the front of my pubic area. thinking it was an ingrown hair, I put acne med on it and it shrunk to almost flat with no pain, but i can still see some skin discoloration there. Also, I noticed a couple of little bumps in the crease of my leg. They are slightly darker than flesh colored. I think they are ingrown hairs because I put Ancne gel on them and they seem to be getting smaller after a couple days; they are not painful.
Avatar f tn After taking the Morning After Pill in June, I noticed a significant amount of facial hair growth as well as more/longer hairs on my back. These hairs are light colored but fairly long and are more pronounced than common 'peach fuzz'. My question is will they 'go away' with a little time or should I wax my face? Will waxing cause a regrowth and will it be darker hair that will regrow? Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn Regarding the bump, it looks like follciulitis after waxing or a small boil caused by a bacterial infection and this can be transmitted. Ask her to keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.
7988724 tn?1400967191 Has anyone made that decision to go get waxed and be done with it since it might be too difficult to shave after a certain point. If so what was your experience like? Did they do okay with you being pregnant? Did it last long enough?
Avatar m tn Anyhow, 2 days before my exposure, I had a Brazilian waxing for my back and shoulders. I developed only a light rash after the waxing. However, 3 days after the exposure, I developed a rash on my back that is still there until today (after 9 weeks) along with an itchy skin all over my body! I got an itching sensation in different areas of my body including feet, legs, head, hands, arms, and of course back and shoulders although only the back and shoulders area were waxed!
Avatar f tn m not sure if there is anything medically that can be done to prevent the hair growth, but i would suggest facial waxing. It doesnt hurt and you can usually get a wax for under $15.

Avatar f tn I have never had anything like this until about 4 weeks ago when this area became inflamed and red. It appears dry sometimes, and slighty burns. It also looks like it the little bumps are filled with something, but they aren't acne as far as I know. Any help would be great! Thank you.
Avatar n tn try to wax the hair out in a single strip as multiple strips may injure the skin more. After waxing apply ice(wrapped in a towel) and some calamine lotion on the skin which helps in soothing. You can also take some over the counter anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen after waxing. However, the best method of painless hair removal is by laser treatment. I would advise you to consult a dermatologist/cosmetologist and discuss this option with him. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
