prevacid with zantac

I've raised my head at night. I haven't tried prevacid or prilosec. My doc prescribed me zantac in august so I've continued using it. I may try one of those to see if I get any relief because the zantac really isn't working.

Hi, have you ever tried Zantac? Take the Zantac 150 (or two 75's) in the morning and before dinner at night, or before bed, whichever you prefer. I have had heartburn forever and I tried the prescription meds, but I feel the Zantac works the best. But 75 is not enough, make sure you take 150 mg. twice a day. Also, you can supplement it with Mylanta or Maalox liquid if it's really bad. I'm not saying this will be a miracle cure, but it's worth a try.

My daughter age 15 was diagnosed with GERD after several months of pain and testing. She has been on Prevacid and Zantac for a month now. She has been pain free since starting her meds. Although in the past month she has gained 10 lbs. Has anyone else suffered from this? We eat a mostly vegetarian diet. She swims a hour 4x a week. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Is it okay to take Prilosec? They said Zantac was okay, but not to take Prevacid. I bought Prilosec and want your opinions on it.

s really bad and none of those help you can see if your doctor is ok with something like prevacid or prilosec.

I had it really bad with this pregnancy and my first... my first everything stopped working so my doctor prescribed me with a very high mg of zantac and this time around my doctor put me on a very high mg of prevacid.. the only thing that ***** about the prevacid is that you gotta take 30 mins before breakfast and it makes you nauseous but it works all day long.. for sure talk to your doctor cause what they can prescribe works 20x better then what you get over the counter..

In July i was having some swallowing problems or thought i was and they did an EGD and found nothing but a VERY tiny hiatal hernia. My stomach lining was nice and pink. I had been taking prevacid for two weeks prior to the EGD due to the trouble swallowing NOW i want to stop taking the prevacid and every time i try i get really sick. I get weak, nauseaus and for a day or two i literally go to the bathroom constantly and have loose yellow stools with stomach cramps.

s what I meant. I meant Prevacid. Mine was put on Zantac first and was then switched to Prevacid and that was better. The Zantac only helped for like a couple of weeks and then went right back. Well, if they have tried all of that, then maybe a GI specialist is the route to go. It sounds like your doc has tried everything. And maybe your doc is right. Maybe when Julian starts solids, it will help. I hope so.....for both your sake. I know it's hard....Just hang in there.

Um o cant remember if this is fact bit i do believe it is not ok. But double check. They usually say just drink milk. I forced the acid up n out then drank milk....that usually helped.

Last monday we took him to the doctor again and they said he was fine, and would outgrow it. They gave us the option of putting him on zantac which we have done. For the first few days he wans't getting sick at all, now he is back to getting sick 5 to 9 times a day again. We haven't changed his diet, he drinks soy instead of regular milk(they thought it could have been a milk allerrgy). My biggest concern is that he will get dehydrated or cause damage to his esophagus.

I'm 33 weeks and have had heartburn since week 16. I take two 150mg Zantac daily. Along with tums for breakthrough. My physician told me it was completely fine. I also work with gasrtoenterologist and they recommend the same thing. Ask your doctor if it's ok for you to take that. It has been a life saver for me. Hope you get some relief soon!

I am on Warfarin and apparently, according to the pharmacist (not the Coumadin Clinic) there can be an interaction. There was also no warning on the box. I transitioned to Zantac from Prevacid because of concern that the Prevacid might be contributing to my arrythmias. I am off of the Zantac for a day or two to see if it makes a difference in my INR.

Is it safe to take 60mg of prevacid in the morning and 20 mg of prilosec in the evening?

I take an extra strength zantac when I get up at midnight. The relief lasts about two hours then I wake again with my stomach burning so carafate. The carafate helps sometimes but not always. What can I do to stop this night time burning. Thanks for any help.

Prevacid, Nexium, Protonix, Aciphex, Zantac, and Pepcid are all used to treat reflux. You can ask you doctor who will know best which one is least likely to cause you dizzyness.

I was hoping there was still a pediatric GERD forum... I have scanned posts and most seem to be adults. Anyone out there with a baby suffering? Your posts make me sooo sad for the babies who suffer with this. I can't even imagine what it must be like to go through that and not know what's wrong, why you hurt, etc... My daughter is 5 months old and has silent reflux. She has been on Zantac since 4 weeks old, but it just wasn't doing enough.

I had indigestion so bad with the acid I started vomitting and it would actually wake me up at night it was so bad. It got to the point I couldnt eat anymore from the acid and vomitting. They finally put me on protonix and now I'm doing doing much better again. Any of those are safe to use...but ask your doctor. The prevacid or protonix has worked best though. It really *****!

Tums, milk, I'm on medicine because mine was bad before I got pregnant. Talk to your dr of you have tried over the counter and it hasn't worked.

I've had to tale rolaids and or tums due to heartburn.....I did it with my daughters pregnancy and had no issues with her......pregnant with another girl and I've had to take them to help again.....
