) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid. While we noticed an decrease in symptoms for the first 3 weeks, this past week they have comeback with avengeance, along with anxiety, tearfulness, and a general "mopy-ness". We are upping his Prevacid to 30 mg. If there is no improvement we go back to the GI Doc next week. Any advice? Anyone been through anything like this? Thanks.
That is probably the most common cause of chronic constipation in children. I have a neice who was chronically constipated for a couple of years. My sister finally took her to an allergist and she had allergies to dairy, wheat and eggs. Once my sister removed those foods from her diet her constipation cleared up. Her colon was really stretched though (still is) so she has to either be on Miralax or eat a lot of apricots/prunces all the time to help her go.

s wheat has been genetically altered and is very different from the wheat 2 generations ago) and a chapter in the book discussed reports from people that had experienced reductions in GERD symptoms after eliminating wheat. I have never had any issues whatsoever with glutten intolerance so I was skeptical but thought what the heck and gave it a try. After 6 months I now have zero GERD issues too - no heartburn, sore throat, indigestion, etc.
People of all ages (including infants and children) can get it and may have green and/or mucous in stools, foul smelling stools, diarrhea, etc. (I had this at age 50 at the same time my mother, 81 at the time, had it....so I have read a lot about it and gone with my mother to multiple doctors. )

I have just started takeing care of my mother in law who is in stage 4 breast cancer and her dr gave her Morphine SO4 IR 15mg one tablet every 3 hours and Morphine SO4 ER 30ENDO one tablet every 12 hours and I am confused on how to give them to her, she says I can give them to her at the same time and I am worried about it causing an overdose and I am having a hard time reaching her dr for instruction on how to give it to her, do i give her one first and then wait a few hours to give the other
t know about the Prevacid, but you should have your testosterone checked. My husband fell in his early fifties, was a body builder and avid runner. When he fell he broke his back in 2 places. He was diagnosed with Osteoporosis, they started him on Testosterone shots (his was low), and within a fairly short amount of time, his bones were strong again. He has to take the shots for the rest of his life.
i have had bright red blood in my stool for a few days now but very little to no pain, could it be from my taking prevacid?
I have had ongoing mysterious symptoms for about a year. After a virus I had in April I started vomiting every morning like a pregnant woman, was dizzy and lightheaded all the time, etc. I could barely eat. The vomiting tapered off and ended around October, but I was left with the lightheaded feeling and would get horrible gas pains , so bad I couldn't move, and I also had more mild nausea a lot of the time. At the same time, since probably July I have felt the need to eat almost constantly.
t tell if we are dealing with behavioral issues or not, because he will go a month without vomiting and then go for 2 mos vomiting more than twice a day. When he is in a cycle of vomiting, he throws up sometimes more than 4 times a day. Worst times seem to be in the morning and at bedtime. So, he throws up in his bed quite a bit too. He has GERD. He has been tested for gastroenteritis, had done an upper GI, a CT and also endoscopy with normal results.
