I never seemed to do well on it years ago and I did better with premarin though I had lots of headaches. I had my hysterectomy uterus and ovaries removed in 2012. I took just premarin until 2015 and then stopped. I quit the estradoil and earlier this week I went back to my old Gyn and told him about the symptoms I am having. Insomnia is the worst, anxiety, depression. He put me back on premarin .625. I have been taking this for three days now.
MY FAMILY PHYSICAN PRESCRIBED PREMARIN TO NO AVAIL, THEN A PRESCRIPTION FOR AN YEAST INFECTION TO NO AVAIL, SENT TO A GYN PHYSICAN, SAID I HAD DERMATITIS PRESCRIBED CLOTRIMAZOLE & BETAMETHASONE TO NO AVAIL, DID A BIOPSY NEGATIVE RESULTS, THEN PRESCRIBED CLOBETASOL, HAVE USED AS DIRECTED ALSO TO NO AVAIL. I AM AT MY WITS END AS WHAT TO DO NEXT----------THE BURNING/REDNESS IS OF THE VULVA AND DOWN THE THIGHS IS EXTREMELY PAINFUL...........ANYONE/ANYBODY HAVE HAD THIS?
As an alternative to vagifem, you can get prescribed estring. The other alternatives are creams--Premarin and Estrace vaginal creams but use them under prescription.

I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...

I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago. I was prescribed Premarin daily which I took for the next 15 year until the scare of it being direclty involved in the cause of some breast cancers. Did the blood test route, etc., took whopping doses of Viatmin D and got put on Premarin, the lowest dose. I did not do well on that. I became actually worse, emotionally and it didn't help the sweats, irritability or anything. My doctor told me to try Estroven, and it's better, but I still feel like crap. Hello: hoping somebody can help me. I have been on Premarin.625mg for 7 months and did very well. Before that, I had tried everything else with very little improvement. Before Premarin I was having hot flashes, anxiety, and terrible insomnia. After the first few days of taking Premarin, I began to notice great improvement. My hot flashes went away and insomnia disappeared. I had a few bumps along the way but then everything balanced out. Now, the old symptoms have returned with a vengeance.
