I never seemed to do well on it years ago and I did better with premarin though I had lots of headaches. I had my hysterectomy uterus and ovaries removed in 2012. I took just premarin until 2015 and then stopped. I quit the estradoil and earlier this week I went back to my old Gyn and told him about the symptoms I am having. Insomnia is the worst, anxiety, depression. He put me back on premarin .625. I have been taking this for three days now.
Hello: hoping somebody can help me. I have been on Premarin.625mg for 7 months and did very well. Before that, I had tried everything else with very little improvement. Before Premarin I was having hot flashes, anxiety, and terrible insomnia. After the first few days of taking Premarin, I began to notice great improvement. My hot flashes went away and insomnia disappeared. I had a few bumps along the way but then everything balanced out. Now, the old symptoms have returned with a vengeance.
I dont have my ovary's. I have been on Estrogen Premarin for 2 months now. Just trying to get the right balance I need since I've been up with bad night sweats and hot flashes. This pain was just one I never felt before. I never had any pain after having my kids. The only time is when I had endo and adneomyois this past year.
Did the blood test route, etc., took whopping doses of Viatmin D and got put on Premarin, the lowest dose. I did not do well on that. I became actually worse, emotionally and it didn't help the sweats, irritability or anything. My doctor told me to try Estroven, and it's better, but I still feel like crap. I don't sleep well at all, I am irritable and snappish and that is NOT my personality. A friend told me she was in a similar state and took bio-identicals.

My doctor, who is a OB/GYN, preformed the surgery and after placed me on Premarin. I was worried after finding out all the health issues around premerin, especially the blood clots, since my mom died of that several years after her hysterectomy. I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...

and can be purchased at retail pharmacies with a prescription. There are also synthetic forms of estrogen that can be just as effective. A couple that come to mind are Premarin and Enjuvia that are made of conjugated estrogens.
Unfortunately, HRT is very much trial and error. What forms and doses work for one woman may be a miserable failure for another. I personally found generic Estrace (micronized estradiol tablets) to work better for me than the patch.
I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I don't know if I should just try nothing for now.. I had a full hysterectomy.. I was good while I was on premarin.. Somebody please help...
