Avatar n tn I was only taking the pill for seven days before having sex, which it says it's effective after that. but you are scaring me with saying you got pregnant while breastfeeding because alot of people seem to eventhough LAM is supposed to be effective bc!
192291 tn?1345403735 It is possible. But also remember that Breastfeeding can delay your period also.....
192291 tn?1345403735 it works sometime but not good enough to rely only on that.
561393 tn?1320966415 typically it is just fine for you to continue breastfeeding while pregnant, you may need to take extra vitamins and up you calorie intake even more than a typical pregnant women, so you can provide for both. since you do have history of MC I would definitely talk with your Dr as he or she may want to keep a close eye on your iron levels and any other levels that maybe effected by breastfeeding!
Avatar f tn I breastfed my son until he was 11 months and I got pregnant again when he was almost 9 months. I didn't have any problems. He was nursing mostly in the morning and at night and maybe once during the day by that point as he was eating more solids. Once I became pregnant my milk supply changed a bit and he also didn't like the taste too much. I also noticed he was starting to spit up the milk after nursing. We slowly weaned and one night he took a bottle to bed instead of me!
Avatar f tn Me and my partner want to have a brother or sister for her but my periods haven't started yet so I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice or stories to tell if they have been in a similar situation to mine or has anyone gotten pregnant while breastfeeding and had no period. I love breastfeeding my little girl and want to continue till shes 1.
3930380 tn?1357890713 I was breastfeeding my son when I got pregnant, he was 7 months old when I got my first period, the I didn't get it again till months later, I got my period when he was 12 months old and got pregnant, I didn't know that I was pregnant till I was three months pregnant because my periods were irregular.....
3930380 tn?1357890713 You can definitely get pregnant while breastfeeding. It being a birth control is a common misconception. However I have had very unregular periods after having kiddos. And before mine were always clock work.
5727805 tn?1378196652 My supply took a huge hit when I got pregnant while nursing and I really wasn't able to nurse and be pregnant. A friend said her dr recommended to stop nursing so her body could focus on being pregnant. Talk to your pediatrician and OB - go with what they recommend.
Avatar f tn Just be prepared to switch to formula (or whole milk depending on baby's age) if you do dry up later in pregnancy and keep an eye on baby's weight and wet diapers to make sure she is getting enough. Also eat eat EAT! While pregnant and breastfeeding, you need lots of calories! As well as water, stay hydrated.
Avatar f tn I just talked to my midwife about breastfeeding while pregnant this morning and she said it is perfectly fine. She said people who don't know the facts think you need to stop, but that is not true. Personally I am breastfeeding my 22 month old and I am 14 weeks pregnant. If she doesn't self wean I'll be tandem nursing them in March! Good for you to be educating yourself and not just doing what others say. You are being a fantastic Mom and meeting the needs of both babies!
Avatar n tn Anyone else still breastfeeding a little one while pregnant? I read I could loose my milk completely. I was hoping to tandem nurse for a little anyone have any advice?
Avatar f tn You can breastfeed while pregnant. The milk will turn thick and colustrum like after a while but still fantastic for baby. I've heard that some babies really love the ticker milk too. I would advise you to tell your OB or health care provider that you are going to continue to breastfeed during pregnancy so that they can better advise you on your health and nutrition requirements throughout your pregnancy.
