Common Questions and Answers about Pregnancy weight gain calculator chart

pregnant

Avatar f tn I am 23 weeks now and am at 172. The calculator stated I was over weight to begin with. Is the Calculator right? What is normal?
Avatar f tn Even I had the same concern regarding my weight gain. I was 143 lbs before pregnancy and it was going at a steady rate when after 25 weeks (current) I entered in my app as 160 lbs and it says excessive. My doctor said its normal because of the baby bump. So, I think it is fine. I am not concerned with weight now.
10389360 tn?1410823968 t use a BMI chart while you are pregnant because you naturally are going to gain weight while pregnant, so it is not your "true" weight. If you want to get a more accurate BMI result, use your pre-pregnancy weight, although BMI is a terrible way to measure normalcy - obesity since everyone is built different.
Avatar f tn 14+4 I've been really up and down with my weight. I gain 5lbs then I lose 4lbs then I gain and lose the same 2 lbs. This is my second pregnancy with my son my body did the same thing and by the end I think I gained under 12lbs.
Avatar f tn It bothered me so much I asked my doctor about it and she said that according to my chart I have been good at maintaining my weight and not too worry about it. I've gained 17lbs and I'm 21w5d.
Avatar f tn This app says i haven't gain enough weight even though I was over weight when I got pregnant. I am 31 weeks and have only gained 1.5 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight. During this pregnancy I've been sick a lot. Since I am overweight my docs don't want me to gain a lot of weight anyway. This app doesn't account for everyone's personal medical circumstances (overweight/underweight).
Avatar n tn I wouldn't listen to the weight chart thing, I'm nearly 35 weeks amd ever since a set up this app it has been telling me av been gaining too much weight, av never worried as think it is probably better to be gaining to much than not enough.
Avatar f tn I've been having such a hard time maintaining a healthy weight gain throughout my pregnancy.. I weighed 116 pre-prengnancy and the last time I went to the doctor I weighed 141!!!
Avatar n tn I'm 19, 5"3, and weigh maybe 89 Ibs. I'll be brief. I have a lot of responsibilities and haven't been able to maintain a diet stable enough to gain weight (I can't gain weight off of unhealthy junk food for example. And I can't eat 3 large meals a day or it will disrupt my digestive system- I have to multiple medium sized meals each day for my digestive to function properly). Any advice on weight gain?
10947 tn?1281404252 Thanks for all of the great information on the BMI Calculator. I have been using an online BMI calculator from a weight loss website called http://www.FitClick.com. The BMI calculator is a great way to calculate your body mass and percentage of fat and jump start your workouts to lower your body fat and/or increase your muscle size. Breaking it down for people looking to enhance their weight loss is a great idea; it helps me comprehend the topic a little better (which is good right?
Avatar f tn Hey I just found the calculator: http://www.babycenter.com/pregnancy-weight-gain-estimator Looks like I'm normal so far...
4165941 tn?1353988628 I was 160 pre pregnancy, Whats the normal weight gain, or the rate at which were supposed to gain.
Avatar f tn I really wouldn't worry bcc I'm only 13 weeks and I've gained 5. Just as long as your not over eating u will be fine. Just be attentive and don't let it get crazy. Good luck hun !
Avatar f tn Mine says the same thing but I didn't even start to gain weight until I was like 26 weeks so I say I'm just catching up
676912 tn?1332812551 I posted a question not that long ago about not gaining weight. I'm starting week 18 today and I still have not gained a single pound. I'm not complaining about it too much since I am a little overweight to begin with, but my concern is the baby...is it ok for her for me to have not gained weight? Is she gaining as she should be even if I haven't gained weight?
Avatar f tn Good to know I'm not the only one!
Avatar n tn I guess it's different for every person. I guess some gain more weight earlier in the pregnancy and other put on all the weight later on. I'll be 20 weeks on Monday and so far I've gained 8lbs. My concern was that I wasn't gaining enough bec I'm carrying twins and I'm 5'2. Ob doesn't seem concerned about the weight at all at this point. I read that even with twins for my stature I should gain anywhere from 35-45lbs in total. We'll see.
Avatar m tn I nned to gain weight.though I am within normal range (BMI CALCULATOR) i still love to gain say 25lb.
Avatar m tn please my bmi , the calculator below says i am underwight and i need to gain weight, my weight is 60kg and height is 1.9m,,,https://y2calculate.
1820608 tn?1317229265 It's definitely possible. Ovulation though on a calender or calculator is nothing more than a guess at best and you could ovulate sooner or later than it shows. To show it accurately you need to chart your BBT or use OPK's. Are you trying to get pregnant?
Avatar f tn And I'll add, one reason diets don't work very well is that calories isn't really the most important factor, how well you digest and metabolize what you eat is. It's like anything else -- the faster you utilize food and the faster you get rid of what you don't need the less weight you'll gain -- it's when food sticks around and converts to unburnt sugar that we gain weight.
Avatar f tn BMI is a useful way to determine a healthy weight. You can find a BMI calculator and other tools for determining a healthy weight on the CDC or NIH web sits. But healthy weight is only part of recovery, as I'm sure you know. I hope you're working on the other aspects, from good nutrition to the mental side of EDs and monitoring for anorexia sequalae.
1857863 tn?1321448966 Lol :) I was 130 before I got pregnant now I'm 155 :( I don't even look like I've gain any weight because all the weight I've gain it has gone to my thighs, my face & my butt. plus I'm pretty tall.
Avatar f tn I'm 16 weeks and still under my pre-pregnancy weight (only by 2lbs). My midwife assures me I will pack on some pounds soon. I'm sure you will round off those numbers later on.
Avatar f tn It's ok. Everybody is different. I'm 5'3 and 150 pounds and I lost weight my first pregnancy. Around 10 pounds. And now in 11 weeks with my second and have lot 2.
1642895 tn?1314664412 I dont believe in the weight gain chart on how much you should gain or shouldnt gain. When i was pregnant i had ALOT of cravings...sometimes to the point of tears if i didnt get it. I agree you should try and stay away from really salty foods, its ok to have some sodium though. My doctor never got on me about how much weight i shouldve gained or shouldnt have gained. As long as the baby is healthy, thats all that really matter. Talk to your Dr. about this weight gain!
Avatar f tn This app is a very basic guideline but fails to take into account that every pregnancy is different and some women need to gain more or less weight to maintain a healthy environment for your baby! Don't take it to heart some women have more blood or fluid or other circumstances that make them gain more that will all (or almost all) be flushed out shortly after baby comes!
