Avatar n tn Look up the distribution of weight for a healthy pregnancy. The weight that your baby needs is about 26 pounds. Within that is the weight of extra blood, amniotic fluid, Breast growth, the baby, placenta etc. I have a goal weight by week 40 that I've talked to my OB about. I'm 20 weeks right now and we have a plan to gain 1 pound a week.
Avatar n tn for a time, it was the most widespread medication given in the United States to lose weight, and was the main treatment used in eighty Weight Reduction Medical Clinics in California. Unfortunately, it didn't work: None of the mainly female patients seeking treatment, it turned out, were suffering from Fröhlich's syndrome.
Avatar f tn I had my first baby in 09 and that really affected my weight.I had lost most of my pregnancy weight, but after a month or two it started coming back.I dnt eat very bad and I consider myself to be pretty active. I really think it was the birth control Implanon that caused the weight gain. Considering that I got it a month after giving birth. I went up to the same weight I was while I was pregnant! So embarassing. I walked and ate well. Nothing seemed to help.

She can walk but can't walk up or down the stairs or sit in a car without difficulty or fear of falling down.

Avatar n tn You can retain water if you drink too much, and this will devastate those who weigh themselves often and feel they are not losing weight. If you find this occurring, please try to avoid using any diuretics to correct this problem. Measuring your daily water intake until it becomes habit, avoiding salt altogether, and washing canned vegetables (sodium used as a preservative) will enable your body to correct itself.
Avatar f tn If this is your first child don't expect to be back to post baby body right away it takes your body some time to heal and get back to normal. This is my 3rd and after my 2nd even fat distribution changed.
385161 tn?1270084818 it is well known that fertility meds can cause weight gain. I'm a little chunkier too this pregnancy (currently 126lbs. I was 112 with my 1st pregnancy and delivered at 136lbs and have never quite lost all the weight from my first pregnancy) but I know it is from my diet and failure to working out enough, not the pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I seemed to develope my Ataxia after my children were teenagers, so I never was pregnant when I had symptoms. I wish I could be more help first hand. If you are not using a walking aid (cane or walker) maybe now if you are feeling that could be helpful, ask your doctors about them.

Avatar m tn It really all depends on different factors like, body type, hormone changes, natural fat distribution, stress level, and genetics. If your mom or grandmothers gained weight in their tummy you probably will too and it can be the hardest to get rid of. I do understand your frustration, though. I gained 20 lbs and it all went to my flat little tummy. I now feel 6 months pregnant when I look in the mirror.
Avatar n tn Anyone told that their placenta blood distribution to the baby is a bit low? 0-4 is low and I'm at 3.33. How to improve it?
361454 tn?1312058456 The only ones that hurt a little is the progesterone one (IM) that you have to do after your retrieval and if you get pregnant at least until week 10 of the pregnancy. I did not gain weight during the stimulation but I know everyone is different. You want to watch out for a sudden weight gain since it can be a sign of Ovearia Hiperstimulation syndrome. I hope this helps, good luck!
Avatar n tn I usually keep young women on replacement until they are done with reproduction to avoid hypothyroidism during pregnancy. If you are done with reproduction, then one way to test is to cut the tab in half for 5-6 weeks and recheck the TSH to see what the requirements are - if TSH ok then stop altogether and recheck 5 weeks later. By the way, 112 is a medium dose -- average for females. Ok to take with chromium -- as you are doing (a few hours apart).
569980 tn?1228333085 Maybe you could find a website that shows how pregnancy weight is distribution to show her that though she is gaining weight that it is not all her. I am not sure what your situation is but if you can help her work out a few times a week and just eat as best as you guys can that should help too. Best of luck! Unfortunately pregnancy is all about weight gain and selflessness....in the end it will all be worth it. I hope this helps and the advise from the other ladies too.
Avatar n tn Hello, First, any woman with an absent period should have a pregnancy test first and foremost. Other causes of absent or infrequent menstruation are thyroid abnormalities or increased prolactin levels. Also, excessive weight loss or physical stress can result in absent or infrequent menstruation. The most common reason women have infrequent menstruation, or anovulation, is due to the Polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Avatar f tn And don't forget, when you were pregnant, lots of pressure was brought to bear on the lower back not to mention the compensation that was made by the rest of your back to deal with the change of weight distribution. Anyway, just something to think about and perhaps look in a different direction.
Avatar n tn , 175lbs) who has been experiencing all symptoms of hypothyroidism (severe fatigue, weight gain, coarse hair/dry skin, development of ovarian cysts, depression and irratability, elevated blood cholesterol level, sore throat/hoarse voice, etc). Avatar f tn As far as cushings syndrome, the symptoms line up except for the weight distribution. The only place I've gained weight is in the waist/abdomen - it's only been a ten pound weight gain, but since I started at 115 pounds it's a bit significant for my build and height. Also, my blood pressure is low and has been since diagnosed with the potassium deficiency about ten years ago. It typically runs 90/60 at the highest.
Avatar n tn The best weight-loss medication program will also incorporate a weight-loss diet and exercise. OK as you see..for a very slight weight (not fat) loss...why take the risk ? and it clearly states..excercise,diet are #1 and no long tern studies have been done..and as soon as you stop..all weight is re-gained..this is junk..stop looking for a quick fix...its not worth the risks..
Avatar f tn I became pregnant before the symptoms were bad and lost weight until I was treated -- the baby grew fine, I guess he got all the nutrients. I told my husband I was just dying. The dr. thought it was pregnancy nausea or the flu but I knew it was something else. Finally they did a simple stool test and had the diagnosis. A stool test is a very simple test where you poop into a container and take it to the lab. Until they finally diagnosed & put me on meds, I was sure I was going to die.
Avatar n tn Ulnar nerve runs a superficial course along the medial border of forearm from medial condoyle. If any where along its distribution it is injured or damaged, it will lead to numbness along its course. Can you check for ulnar nerve? Examine the sensation on the tip of the little finger and also try to cross the fingers (the motor branches of the ulnar nerve innervate the intrinsic muscles of the hand) to test the motor function of the ulnar nerve. What is the result after doing this?
