475489 tn?1223951882 here's some info I found they go according to Development Gestation and conceptions Development This method uses actual developmental stages to divide up a pregnancy. From LMP to 12 weeks the embryo develops all the major organs, becomes a fetus, and the placenta takes over control. From 12 weeks to 27 weeks the fetus continues developing and reaches viability. From 27 weeks on the fetus finishes development and prepares for delivery.
Avatar f tn Oh I remember the early stages. .. went by fast for me too.. now I'm in the 3rd trimester ...
2048779 tn?1330226292 But I have to agree that based on what I know, the surgery probably had no affect on a pregnancy that was in such early stages. I understand your worry, but would bet that all is just fine. I do hope you update this thread though, as I am interested in what your Dr. has to say. Guaranteed you won't be the last person in this situation and this thread could prove very helpful to others.
1748793 tn?1332623603 This time around my husband and I have decided to keep it to ourselves until we are reassured by my OBGYN that the baby looks good and the pregnancy is progressing in a normal way. So it's hard to have this wonderful feeling inside me about being pregnant and can't talk to no one about it. I'm looking for other preggo ladies out there than I can share and compare symptoms aches and complaints.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I am in my first trimester and before I knew I was pregnant I had a transatlantic trip planned for 3 weeks to visit family and friends. With layovers the trip will last about 17 hrs. My doctor said it's fine to fly as it poses no danger for the baby. But of course, as I'm new to this pregnancy thing I'm freaking out about everything. I'll be 7 weeks on my flight to Europe and 10 weeks on my flight back. I had a miscarriage earlier in the year at early stages (<6 weeks).
325477 tn?1250554909 that is why i say 4d ultrasound all the way. you are all going to find that your 2nd trimester flies by so fast that you barely even realize it. then you get to the 3rd and it starts to stall and slow down. enjoy your energy that you have right now and do what you can. think of things now that you would want to really clean or organize because once you hit 33-34 weeks you want to do all of this crazy cleaning that would have made sense to start slowly in your 2nd tri.

Avatar f tn Unless your dr tells you otherwise sex is fine throughout your pregnancy
Avatar n tn I am currently in the first trimester of my second child and feel awful; so drained like my body wants to shut down all hours of the day. I am not being sick but constantly feeling nauseous and hormonal....like all feelings are amplified. I was on prozac to regulate my hormones during PMT, but have been advised by doctor to come off them now pregnant too. I keep having cramps, like period pain but no bleeding - is this normal?
Avatar n tn When I was in the early stages of pregnancy, I only got sick one time, my boobs would hurt one day and then the soreness would go away for a few days and come back. That is pregnancy, everyday you will feel very different.
Avatar n tn Are you planning on giving birth in the US? I would speak to your OB about flying in the late stages of pregnancy.
470885 tn?1326332637 -) Lots and lots of baby dust to those TTC, and all the best to everyone else in various stages of pregnancy, especially those of you who are really in the home stretch!!
6688440 tn?1389635305 Thank you both! My doctor acted like ide made a big mistake but kinda like ' o well! What's done is done is done, huh?', type of thing, which didn't make me feel any better....
1428239 tn?1333460653 This might be helpful for you: The three basic ways to calculate trimesters There are basically three ways of dividing up a pregnancy into the three trimesters; they are by: Development, Gestation, Conception. They give different dates for when the second trimester begins and for when the third trimester begins. Your health care provider might prefer to use the Development method, while another Midwife or Doctor may use the Gestation method.
1310824 tn?1332381229 This uses actual developmental stages to divide up a pregnancy. From LMP to 12 weeks the embryo develops all the major organs and becomes a fetus. From 12 weeks to 27 weeks the fetus continues developing and reaches viability. From 27 weeks on the fetus finishes development and prepares for delivery. Here the second trimester begins at 12w 0d and the third at 27w 0d. by Gestation: With this method you take the 40 weeks of gestation and divide by three.
Avatar n tn Hi there, Can anyone tell me please if I can safely diet in the first trimester? I'm 155 lbs. and 5'3 and I haven't lost all my weight from my first pregnancy. I only would like to lose 5-8lbs. so I can get back to where I was before I got pregnant with my first child. I'm only about 3 weeks along with my pregnancy and I don't want an over grown baby inside me which will most probably result in a c-section, nor would I like the extra weight to carry around.
Avatar n tn When pregnant with DD I had swelling early in my 2nd trimester and through out my pregnancy. My whole body was saverly swelled by the end of my pregnancy. I am scared this is happening so soon. Did anyone else have swelling this early?

1666434 tn?1325265950 After having a loss back in October, it's a great feeling to be at this stage of pregnancy and actually making it to this point. Only 10-13 weeks left. I am getting Braxton Hicks like normal, just my body preparing itself. I have gathered everything I think I will need for afterbirth and for before.
760797 tn?1303268140 yeah MH says "congratulations you're in the second trimester!" in your day-by-day pregnancy guide when you turned 13w BUT it doesn't show 2nd until 14wk on your ticker... I considered myself 2nd halfway through the 13th week because I think, by days, that's when it converts... but I'll be celebrating 2nd trimester on MH when my ticker changes over tonight to 14wk LOL.
170623 tn?1242667663 I started cramping at 4 dpo and it lasted until I was like 12w...They came and went but at first, it was a constant at 4dpo. I never had the weird taste but I did go through the light-headedness... It all sounds very very normal...hang in there!
Avatar f tn For a third of women they started in first trimester, for another third in second trimester and for the remaining third they started in teh third trimester.
Avatar n tn Posted By Shea on November 03, 1998 at 15:24:09: At what stage of your pregnancy does breast tenderness and frequent urination kick in? I am in teh 1st trimester of my pregancny and am experiencing these symptoms. I thought these thigns occurred later in the pregnancy.
Avatar n tn My ob/gyn said that it wasn't a big deal and my specialist said that I would need to wean myself down during the last trimester. I'm only taking them when I really need them, but I'm very nervous about taking it at all. I drink only one cup of coffee a day bacause I read that it restricts the flow of blood to the baby and that a baby can't metabolize caffeine like an adult. I'm wondering if coffee is so bad, then how can the dr.s be so non-chalant about oxycodone.
Avatar f tn Cramping in the first trimester is very common. The uterus is preparing itself for the big stretch! As long as there is no blood then you are probably just fine :).
Avatar n tn This can cause damage to you, as you know, and the baby is at risk of damage if glucose levels are uncontrolled, especially during the first trimester when initial development is happening, and during the last trimester when the placenta needs to be well-nourished by the small blood vessels in your body in order to sutain the larger unborn baby. Most doctors now recommend that their diabetic patients try to have good glucose control for a period of about 3 months before getting pregnant.
