Avatar n tn Recently while speaking w/another mommy, she suggested that I should pump while breastfeeding. While the child is on 1 breast, pump the other. I haven't tried but it was highly recommended.
Avatar f tn I am totally against breastfeeding. I wasn't breast fed and I came out perfectly fine. Is it really that big of a deal? I thought about pumping but I hear thays time consuming and very painful.
Avatar f tn Some people have pregnancy symptoms and some don't- there is no specific difference in the signs and symtoms of pregnancy when breastfeeding. Some mothers report a decrease in their milk during pregnancy or that their babies lose interest in breastfeeding, but again, there are no specific signs. Breast feeding can suppress ovulation therefore preventing pregnancy, but it is not always effective.
1130975 tn?1260767910 I am currantly breastfeeding my 6 month old baby girl and having signs of pregnancy. If I was to take a test and it was negative would my breastfeeding be the cause of the result?????
640548 tn?1340556955 Mikaleen, I think it is amazing that you are breastfeeding your 22 month old, and congratulations on your new pregnancy! You are an awesome mom for weighing out your decisions. Since you are obviously very aware of the benefits, imagine all of that doubled for mom! Mom burns up to 1000 calories/day (instead of 500), moms uterus shrinks back twice as fast, with two times less bleeding!
Avatar f tn And thanks to the latching difficulty my nipples were getting so much abuse. Breastfeeding shouldn’t hurt and you should re-latch if it hurts after the first 20 seconds. I was re-latching several times every session and I’m sure that is what helped save my nipples in the long run. Also expressing a little by hand before feeding (just to make the boob pliable) made latching a lot easier since I could compress my areola better than when they were hard and full of milk.
175662 tn?1282217256 Yes, you should be waking her to feed at LEAST every 3 hours as young as she is. Don't wait until she starts crying to feed her, early signs of hunger like rooting are best time to feed, When my babies were that young, i would almost always offer the breast immediately upon waking. My youngest had a few issues at birth including low blood sugar, 18cc's of amniotic fluid that was suctioned out of his belly 18-20 hours after birth and then he had jaundice.
521037 tn?1212279053 A little bleeding or spotting may occur, due to implantation of the fertilized egg. Some women experience no early symptoms of pregnancy during the first few weeks, while others may experience all of them. A woman's breasts usually seem larger and feel tender as the mammary glands prepare for eventual breastfeeding. Nipples begin to enlarge and the veins over the surface of the breasts become more noticeable. Morning sickness (i.e.
Avatar n tn I also know that it is ENTIRELY possible to get pregnant while breastfeeding and BEFORE your AF comes back. I was breastfeeding EXCLUSIVELY--hadn't even put a bite of food in my first DD's mouth at 5 months old. She was nursing two or three times in the night also. Well, one day I wondered why my stomach looked so much fatter... found out I was 4 months pregnant with DD #2!! My period had never come back after giving birth to DD #1! So my first two are only 15 months apart.
Avatar f tn The first few days of birth, no mother but those like my self who decided to continue to breastfeed throughout her pregnancy, has a milk supply. The first few days your body makes what it is called colostrum, it's just a few drops with each feeding but it's all your baby actually needs. That's why the body naturally makes it. Your milk supply will come in as long as you continue breastfeeding, if you continue to supplement with formula is definitely a down slide for your production.
208686 tn?1293034103 I read it before I had my baby and then again while I was breastfeeding and anytime I had a question. As far as the food goes that is just something that you will have to experiment with. Different babies, different aversions to foods and drinks. If you will just be pumping a few times you could always just get the Medela handhelp pump. It works really well and if you are only using on occasions it is cheaper than the motorized pumps. I had both. Good luck and remember to just relax.
Avatar f tn It's really not that complicated and I never was really in any pain from breastfeeding. It depends on the latch and the sensitivity of the woman. I breastfed my first son and now my second son and he's going on 5 months. Www.************ is a GREAT resource. I would begin reading now to calm your fears. Good luck!!!
Avatar f tn The only thing I've ever been told not to eat a lot of while breastfeeding is chocolate because too much can make your milk bitter and to limit caffeine.
Avatar f tn anyone familiar or heard, know, experienced taking subutex while pregnant? i am now on 1mg per day and there is limited studies. please help.

4628530 tn?1369112686 (Most likely won't take steroids while breastfeeding). I've dealt with this without any meds until now, so I may do so for a while longer. I hope this information can help somebody in the future.
659957 tn?1224857787 First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy!!! Secondly, I have given birth to 2 babies while on suboxone. With the first pregnancy, I was told to wean off of the Sub- bad idea. I ended up going back on pain pills (yes, while pregnant), but THANK GOD I soon found an awesome doctor who agreed to put me back on the Sub. for the remainder of the pregnancy. I was able to get by on only 1 mg. of Sub. a day during that pregnancy. I gave birth to a full-term, VERY healthy baby!
172023 tn?1334675884 Research has determined a possible role for food allergy prevention strategies in high-risk children, including maternal food avoidance in pregnancy, breast-feeding, maternal food avoidance while breast-feeding, use of hypoallergenic formulas, delayed introduction of allergenic foods and probiotics, noted one expert.
Avatar f tn I have been extremely tired and starting yesterday it became painful for my daughter to nurse. I know that nursing doesn't stop pregnancy. My DH and I don't use anything, we leave it all in God's hands, so if is possible. My real question is if anyone has gotten pg while nursing how did you find out and what were your symptoms. Any advise would be helpful. I did take a test last Thur. neg., but dr thinks it could have been implantation, so to early to tell.
Avatar f tn And thanks to the latching difficulty my nipples were getting so much abuse. Breastfeeding shouldn’t hurt and you should re-latch if it hurts after the first 20 seconds. Avatar m tn All I can tell you is that for me and my baby there were zero problums after birth, but like I said before there was an issue after I stopped while breastfeeding. My doc said there is more of a transfer from breastmilk than in utero. But it seems like others have heard something else. I think after birth IF there were to be withdrawls it would show up within 12 hours. What you going through is SO common.
1328841 tn?1315687416 i would get a little breast soreness every once in a while and then usually never start. But in March i started my AF it was horribly painful. Then in April i had AF on the 9th. Also horribly painful but it started the same time as the month before. My thoughts were that i was regulating. Which would be wonderful because then we could try to predict my ovulation times. So i tried to figure it out and came up with somewhere between the 20th to the 28th.
