pregnant

Avatar f tn Sorry no piercings or tattoos while pregnant, many say not to while breastfeeding too but I got my nose pierced and 2 tattoos while breastfeeding. Wait until after you have your baby and go to someone reputable and make sure they use pre sterilized needles and tips. Dont be afraid to ask first and ask to see what they are doing and using on you.
Avatar f tn I just talked to my midwife about breastfeeding while pregnant this morning and she said it is perfectly fine. She said people who don't know the facts think you need to stop, but that is not true. Personally I am breastfeeding my 22 month old and I am 14 weeks pregnant. If she doesn't self wean I'll be tandem nursing them in March! Good for you to be educating yourself and not just doing what others say. You are being a fantastic Mom and meeting the needs of both babies!
561393 tn?1320962815 typically it is just fine for you to continue breastfeeding while pregnant, you may need to take extra vitamins and up you calorie intake even more than a typical pregnant women, so you can provide for both. since you do have history of MC I would definitely talk with your Dr as he or she may want to keep a close eye on your iron levels and any other levels that maybe effected by breastfeeding!
Avatar f tn I never got to breast feed my daughter because whe was in the nicu for a whole week and i never got a chance for her to get my milk to come, anyways ive heard that breastfeeding can cause miscarriages or something like that because it can cause contractions or something im not sure, but i would ask your doctor and a breastfeeding consultant just to get better information for the health of your pregnancy, and congrats on that new baby on the way
8395984 tn?1400469103 They certified in these such things, not just common breastfeeding experiences. I am sure you could possibly find a specialist who can better direct you in breastfeeding while having a piercing.
Avatar n tn I am estimated between 5-6weeks. I had a miscarriage in January and was not expecting to get pregnant again so soon. I have a 2 year old so it's been a while since my last term pregnancy. We are still currently nursing and I am wondering if that could be why my breasts are not hurting now? I also don't have any other signs of pregnancy that I've noticed. Can this be normal?
Avatar f tn As far as I know if you're breastfeeding its pretty much the same medicine thats ok for pregnancy. I know you can still breastfeed if you have a cold and it shouldn't hurt baby.
Avatar f tn I'm 27 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby and am still breastfeeding my son. He is 18 months old now and for the last 6 months I've just nursed him twice a day (bedtime and in the morning). Does anyone have experience breastfeeding late in pregnancy? My son could easily decide he's done before the new baby arrives but it's been something I've been thinking about.
Avatar n tn The biggest factor is whether or not you are breastfeeding. You can get pregnant while breastfeeding; however, if your baby is less than six months old, you have not had a period, and your baby is taking only breast milk and not other foods or formula, breastfeeding can be around 98% effective as birth control. After six months, or if you have had a period, or if your baby is eating other foods or formula, breastfeeding cannot be relied on as a method of birth control.
Avatar n tn ve had no signs of pregnancy, havent had a period for at least eight years, no bump, no sickness, absolutely nothing, but did an ultrasound and found out. What my concern is, is if the baby will be healthy or if the pregnancy should be terminated? I've heard lots of bad things about diet pills and pregnancy. I also spoke to my OBGyn's nurse and she said that may be a big concern. Can you help me with anything?
1209036 tn?1299178657 To answer your question, YES it is perfectly safe to go on birth control pills while breastfeeding, HOWEVER, you can not take pills that contain estrogen. There are pills call "mini-pills" or "pops" (progesterone only pills) such as camilla and micronor that are considered safe during breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about it. Some docs will give you a script straight out of the hospital, others will make you wait until you have your 6 week post partum check up.
Avatar f tn 25 weeks. 15 weeks to go! I'm having a boy as well and my family will even out. 2 boys and 2 girls. I didn't have any problems breastfeeding and I hope I don't have any with this pregnancy.
1841589 tn?1319711519 As long as you are having a healthy normal pregnancy you can continue to breastfeed through the whole pregnancy. Some children will wean themselves due to changes in milk though. I am 14 weeks pregnant and happily nursing my 28 month old. Good Luck.
Avatar f tn m wondering if I am now, Ive been having hot flashes, irritable.. Wondering if there were any EARLY signs of pregnancy outside of missed period or positive test. Im 5 weeks postpartum, Friday, and breastfeeding, so no period to even answer that It would be at least 3 or 4 weeks ago that this couldve happened, thats how early of signs Im lookin for. Just a question, even tho it may seem silly. :) Thanks.
384896 tn?1335294331 The american college of obstetrics and gynecology recommends progestin only birth control while breastfeeding such as depo provera and minipills. Progestin birth control may actually increase your milk supply where as birth control pills containing estrogen have been shown to reduce your supply of breast milk so try to avoid those. So, stay away from those. Another option is LAM, lactional amenorrhea method: Breastfeeding doesn't have to be a hindrance to birth control.
Avatar n tn ask your doctor because there is a medicine they can give you to start o'ing. conceiving with one fallopian tube isn't impossible, it'll just take a bit more time! (And I was O'ing while breastfeeding with no periods) Anywho, I am sorry for your loses, and I can only imagine the stress that comes with it! But do talk to your doctor. They can refer you to a RE would can help you get back on track!
Avatar f tn So i understand that i may not get my period while breastfeeding and I am planning on doing it for about 6 months to a year depending on how things go. what im worried about is getting pregnant again so soon. my husband can pretty much get me pregnant by just looking at me, will i know when im ovulating? if i did get pregnant quickly would it be bad that the lining didnt shed for so many months?
Avatar n tn 5 months and then we switched to milk because I had no supply left and she was super hungry. Some women nurse throughout pregnancy and some kids are fine to dry nurse for a while, mine just wasn't.
Avatar f tn I am trying to ease my mind and figure out how common it is to miss your period after having your period while breastfeeding an infant. I am breastfeeding a 4 month old, I had a period when she was 2 months and 3 months but now I'm a week late. I have taken 3 pts so far and all negative. how big are the chances that I'm pregnant again? I did start exercising over the last month, and I also starting pumping to stock up on breastmilk. Could that cause me to miss my period this month?
Avatar f tn What are the odds of getting pregnant while breastfeeding? Anyone have this happen to them?
Avatar n tn I was wondering if there was an online source on the infants symptoms of a mother who is breastfeeding who has Post Pregnancy Thyroiditis. Or even if there is an informative source of accurate information on Post Pregnancy Thyriditis. I am looking for information to assist my doctor and I in working through this disease. Thank you!!
Avatar f tn m really scared to take it while pregnancy becuase it poses a greater risk of PPHN (Persistant Pulmonary Hypertension in Newborns) and I just can't risk that. I seriously need to be taking something but my famiyl and I have agreed that I only have 12 weeks left and they will just deal with my moodiness and stuff until then so we don't take any chances. I plan to tell my doc that I want to walk out of that hospital with a script for Zoloft.
997993 tn?1290751148 But not all women can become pregnant while breastfeeding. Some can with no problem, but not all. I did extensive research on this a while back because I wanted to get pregnant again. Anyway, for some women it is easy to do without any problems. Some women have too low hormone levels to sustain a pregnancy. I know that is the case for me. I have timed things right for the past 3 months and not gotten pregnant. I know my body very well, as I have tempt my BBT.
