Common Questions and Answers about Pregnancy signs cervical mucus

pregnancy

Avatar f tn My husband and I are not currently trying to conceive, but we are using Natural Family Planning to avoid pregnancy. I have a very regular, very predictable cycle. I understand what signs and symptoms to look for, I check my cervical mucus daily, and I take my basal body temperature at the same time every morning. According to what I've read, it is normal for a woman to go through a "dry" spell just after her period.

Avatar f tn cervical mucus (CM, for short), egg white cervical mucus (EWCM, for short), and fertile-quality cervical mucus. Cervical mucus certainly gets plenty of attention in TTC circles, and for good reason. Cervical mucus plays a fundamental role in the TTC process by nourishing and protecting sperm as it makes the long, arduous journey through the female reproductive tract to meet the egg. So, the more familiar you become with your cervical mucus, the more likely you are to become pregnant.
1357016 tn?1277298456 t get the egg white cervical mucus that is needed to help one achieve pregnancy. I know some women that stay dry, dry constantly, but there is a simple fix for it. They do sell lubrication that will give you ewcm. Lots of lubrication can actually kill sperm but there are a few that actually allow sperm to thrive and live longer! A couple are called Preseed and Conceive Plus. I know many women who use preseed and get preg within the first two cycles.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have a question regarding missed birth control pills. I had intercourse on a Saturday, and missed 2 birth coontrol pills on the following Wed and Thurs. I usually ovulate on Tues/Wed. It is now just days before my period is supposed to start (approx 4-5 days) and my breasts have been extremely tender, my cervical mucus has increased, and I've been feeling very bloated - much more than usual. I'm curious to know if this is just hormone imbalance or signs of pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Dont know if you are saying you are late for your period or your period has been gon for 3 days. discharge is normally cervical mucus but it can be indication to other things. If your 3 days late you should take a test. you see this substance 3 days after your period is done then its a good chance it is cervical mucus.
Avatar f tn Sperm can live a few days in the best cervical mucus, being fertile cervical mucus, even then, having sex 4 days before your ovulation date isn't as good as 2 days or a day before, can you have sex closer to friday, or is today your only option?
4641167 tn?1357922386 It can, but there is also lots of other determining factors. If your cervical mucus is/was sticky when you and your hubby were together, sperm do not live in that very long as it is harder for them to get through, it is very sticky for them too. The cervical mucus that the sperm like is more of the consistency of egg white (they live longer in this CM) and they really like the watery mucus as they seem to be able to swim a little faster in this.
1875504 tn?1321793788 I'm pregnant and my discharge comes and goes. Some days it's way worse than others.
Avatar f tn No you can't really rely on cervical mucus as an indicator of pregnancy. I know some women (myself included) did have an increase in discharge but it could just be a normal thing. Take a test if you are late for your period. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I lost my mucus plug at 37weeks. Cervical exam at 37weeks+3days an I was 3cm dilated.
1497548 tn?1288967522 basal body temperature (BBT), cervical mucus, and cervical position. There are books that can provide info on how to chart these signs and what the signs mean for fertility. One book that many of us use in this community is "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. Charting can prove very helpful, and would've at least told her if a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage) actually occurred. There are at-home screening tests available.
Avatar f tn they can be signs of pregnancy but they could also be sum affects from clomiid.im not actually sure to be honest, but my fingers are crossed for you. Avatar f tn What should my cervical mucus look like in the first weeks of pregnancy? My husband and I are ttc and I ovulated on June 29,30th and July 1st. I'm 8 dpo and I have swollen and sore breasts and I've been peeing much more frequently the past 2 days. My cervical mucus is a whiteish color and the consistency is creamy/stringy. I've never been pregnant before so not sure what to look for.
Avatar f tn Evening Primrose Oil or EPO helps women to produce more fertile quality cervical fluid also known as “egg white cervical mucus”. This type of cervical fluid is fertile, thin, watery, clear and “stretchy” and easily aids the sperm to swim through the uterus and into the fallopian tube, and to the egg.
395568 tn?1234346978 discharge in a very long time.i do however have all the other signs which include enlarged breasts, high temperature, correct cervical position and texture, mood swing etc. in the absence of the discharge, does it mean ovulation does not take place at all? will greatly appreciate responce.
358971 tn?1330888975 During pregnancy there are surges of hormones that may cause the amount of cervical mucus to increase and then decrease. Many women that have never really paid attention to their cervical mucus now notice it every time they get dressed and undressed as it is noticeable in their panties. Other women report that they do not notice any cervical fluid while pregnant. Again, there is no normal or abnormal in this sense as each womans body responds to pregnancy and the surge in hormones differently.
Avatar f tn its due in 4 days...
Avatar f tn thanks you for your reply i have done alot of research and have learnt alot about cervical mucus but i havnt seen any mucus long and streatchy like goo, which makes me think im not ovulating. is it ok to check your cervical mucus or should you wait for it to just come out naturally, and is drinking lots of water help? i have cervical mucus just not the streatchy stuff.
518733 tn?1333017015 As long as there is no pain or itchiness involved, it is reasonably safe to assume that what you are experiencing is just increased cervical mucus that many women produce during pregnancy. Your body has to create a mucus plug to seal the uterus once a pregnancy has been established. Increased cervical mucus is something that can be experienced during any trimester, or in many cases, all of them. Most women complain of an increase again however, during the last month (or so) of their pregnancy.
Avatar n tn How are you tracking your ovulation? Opks, cervical mucus, temps, anything? If not, I suggest start doing that so you know for sure when you're ovulating and hitting the right days! And did your doctor run tests and suggest the above medicine? If so, I would trust him/her, and try it! It can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive so don't stress!, Let it happen and relax, enjoy your partner, and it will happen!
1040416 tn?1257956505 Are you seeing any other signs of ovulation like increase in cervical mucus, temp, etc? Usually when women have anovulatory cycles they are highly irregular where their hormones peak just enough to get a period x number of days later, but normally when this happens the cycle is drawn out and there are several times where it appears the woman may be ovulating etc. Also if the bleeding was irregular it might be considered breakthrough bleeding rather then a period etc.
