Common Questions and Answers about Pregnancy miscarriage rates by week

miscarriage

Avatar f tn All kinds of numbers and miscarriage rates are running around out there after a heart beat is seen, I have seen from 5 to 10% quoted. It sounds like you are doing all the right things and things are going great. Hope this helps, not sure there is an answer.
Avatar f tn I visited my OBGYN on 2/18/08 for first routine OB visit. I was slightly concerned since I had been spotting for 5 days - started out brown and light pink, and now sometimes has a little bit of stringy red in it(also, I noticed a faint foul smell to this bloody discharge when I changed my pad). By my LMP (12/20/07), I should be 9 weeks today.
Avatar f tn I've just found out that I'm 5 weeks pregnant at 46!!!. I'm delighted and so is my husband but I'm absolutely shocked to be pregnant at all (thought it was menopause) and very worried about the miscarriage rates for this age group, which I've read is as high as 50%. I don't smoke or drink, I watch what I eat and am taking preg vitamins. All of my blood tests were great and this is baby number 7. Others are between 27 - 6 yrs.
Avatar f tn So I went to Dr's last week for my 10 week check up and fhr was 171.!!! I'm just nervous bc I've been reading some things that say where some people went back at 14 weeks and didn't hear a hb. Should I worry or am I out of the danger zone.?
Avatar n tn I have had one missed miscarriage where I lost the baby at about 8 weeks in Nov 2008, a chemical pregnancy that resulted in a natural miscarriage at 5 weeks 2days in Jan 2009. I am pregnant again. This time my quant was neg. for pregnancy at day 31 since LMP, after not getting a period I went back to get another blood test at day 39 LMP, my quant was 64, then 48 hours later it was 201, then 4 days later 1798.
1102290 tn?1278499953 Great stats! I've googled a few different sites and it's amazing the conflicting info that is out on the internet. All I know is that when the nurse heard my baby's HB, she said it was in the perfect range.
541609 tn?1273879848 You usually have it as a child and have immunity to it (same chicken pox) It may increase miscarriage rates (very early on) by 1-2 % (so very small chance) as a more developed fetus it may cause fetal anemia (easy watched by a doctor and treated after birth) It did not give statistics on that just said it may.. so I'm guessing it is also a small percentage. It is also going around the schools here.
10947 tn?1281404252 Hello All, We'll soon be introducing a new feature for our expecting moms. The Pregnancy, Week-by-Week application will allow you to read all about what's happening to your body and to your baby during any given week. It'll track where in your pregnancy you are and send you emails to let you know when you've started a new week as a reminder to read the new information for that week.
Avatar f tn in my case, my RE requires an u/s every week post transfer then after 7-wks u/s i was transferred to by ob/gyn doc and though i was expecting another u/s at 8-wks, i was told i will not need to have it again until 12-wks. not having experience being pregnant before i thought this was all normal. it turned out the baby died shortly after my last u/s at 7-wks and i was carrying it until 12-wks when i was scheduled for my next u/s. at that time...
Avatar f tn After you see the heartbeat, the risk of miscarriage drops to approximately 5%, so long as no other complications are present and there is no vaginal bleeding. You can Google miscarriage rates by week also and it will give you some good info. Good luck!
782720 tn?1236125785 If you read the literature, you will see studies showing an increased risk of miscarriage associated with low heart rates, but that has not been my experience. I hope you have another scan coming up soon, if the heart rate rises into the 160-170 range within the next few weeks, I bet you will do OK. I'm pulling for you! Good luck!
Avatar f tn Here's my story. I took a bhcg test on June 1st and results on June 3rd showed Negative for being pregnant. I started taking Provera on June 3rd-7th. No period after 10 days. On June 17th, went to dr and had Positive pregnancy test. My doctor scheduled US on June 25th, we seen no pregnancy. She said it was too early. On July 2nd, another US and we seen fluid and Uterus open around 12mm.
Avatar f tn Depending on how far along you were, it might be horomones left over from miscarriage. Test again in a week or go get a blood test. They'll probably do 2 tests to see if numbers are going up or down.
Avatar m tn But there is no way to precisely date the beginning of a pregnancy from an ultrasound from the 22nd or 24th week of pregnancy. By now, the margin for error in dating would be a couple of weeks plus or minus. All those later ultrasounds can tell you, given the differences in growth rates in babies, she could have conceived any time in late June through late July. Did she get an early ultrasound, such as in her 7th or 8th week?
Avatar f tn I am running through my 7th week of pregnancy. I went to my doctor yesterday. After performing outer and vaginal USG he said the fetus has no heartbeats. Ideally it should develop heartbeats at this time. He has advised us to wait for a week and then again go for a check up. Me and my husband are very stressed and sad regarding the issue as I had one miscarriage before this too. All we need is advise and much more blessings.
Avatar f tn / we planned the first pregnancy and while I was pg he didn't want it and put me through hell. Now he's doing it again.
2118793 tn?1342449463 Ive heard you are more fertile after a miscarriage. I'm sorry to hear about your loss and I hope your next pregnancy is a healthy smooth 9 months.
Avatar f tn I googled miscarriage rates - at age 48, the chance of m/c is 50-75 percent. On your other issues, I believe only your dr will be able to adequately answer them w/authority. With miscarriage rates this high, chances are that if there's a chromosonal abnormality, the body will miscarry it. Now women 40+ have a greater chance of a normal pregnancy than in the past - that much I know.
Avatar f tn So i have 2 boys i remember their heart rates being 150 or under. Im 10 weeks now hoping for a girl the heart rate was 184. Anybody have girls that had high heart rates?
Avatar n tn If that bleeding was implantation bleeding there should be enough hcg in ur blood for the test to show up positive by now. Try testing in another week :) good luck and I'm so sorry for ur loss.
Avatar f tn It has been linked to higher miscarriage rates, as well as increased risk of pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes and preterm birth. Doesn't mean any of these will be a problem for you, you just have a slightly higher risk. I was very depleted of vitamin D when I had my miscarriage, not sure if that's what contributed, but I took a supplement to boost it before this pregnancy and I'm fairly high now, so supplements seem to work well.
Avatar f tn I was worried sick for that whole week that I was going to have my third miscarriage but by the next ultrasound at 6w5d, it was 125bpm. It eventually got as high as the 180s.
Avatar n tn The miscarriage rate is very low, given the age of the donor, likely not greater than 12%-13%. After you reach 13 weeks, it drops to 2%-3%.
