Pregnancy exercise first trimester

Common Questions and Answers about Pregnancy exercise first trimester

pregnancy

Avatar f tn I feel awesome and had an easy pregnancy with my first and so far again with my second. Definitely exercise! I even was going to the gym with a large belly in my first pregnancy. People would stare and sometimes comment but I really didn't care. I was being healthy for both my child and myself. As long as you are hydrating and not over doing it, you will be fine. I did treadmill, eliptical, leg/arm machines at the gym. It doesn't take a ton of time to stay fit.
Avatar f tn Yea i had it all through out my first trimester and now i am on my second and still a problem i cant keep anything down, but try to stay healthy exercise when you can and eat fat free diet it helps, good luck
Avatar f tn The key is to listen to your body and stop if you feel any pain. I ran until about 30 weeks and did sit ups through the first trimester and feel like that has been a large part of my complication free pregnancy (so far at least). I am 38Wks+2.

1472764 tn?1287588186 With this pregnancy I have lightened up on my exercise only because I miscarried before in October of last year. So for the first trimester I took a very light approach and only walked. Now that I am well into my 2nd trimester I am using an elliptical but not overdoing myself. It certainly does help increase my energy and helps with leg cramps too.
Avatar f tn What are some safe exercises to do in the first trimester? I want to stay healthy without overdoing it as I am diabetic and classified as a high risk pregnancy. I'm 8 weeks in. Helpful tips please?
2066536 tn?1354241604 I swam from ~14 weeks until the week I had my daughter with my first pregnancy - it was great exercise that I could pace to how I was feeling that day. It works all muscles concurrently and the buoyancy was great for not feeling heavy/cumbersome. This time, due to time/schedule constraints, I have been doing more walking and using a bike trainer (turns a bike in to a stationary bike).
Avatar f tn I used to do a similar style of circuit class but once I found out I was pregnant., my doctor said to stick to low-moderate intensity exercise particularly for the first trimester. To be honest I've been too tired to even think about doing those classes!
Avatar n tn They usually say not to lift over 10 pounds the first 3 months are most critical, but as for exercise if your a runner then run but don't start doing anything you don't normally do.
Avatar f tn How much exercise is good during the first trimester I'm 6 weeks and I want to make sure this is going to be a good pregnancy with a healthy baby to show for it.
Avatar f tn ( Enjoy it girl while you can!
Avatar n tn My doctor recommended no excise during the first 3 months, after that depending on your pregnancy and how its going they will let you know what's okay to do or not..
571042 tn?1271447141 If I am just not up for it I do an video work-out at home for 2nd trimester pregnancy. It is actually pretty good. You get cardio, weights, core and yoga in the video so I can go for as long as I want. Each of the weekdays I also try to throw in some free weight lifting if I can. Like last night I did about 5 minutes of side abdonmial work and shoulder work. That is about it. I enjoy the working out....I have read it can help your mood so I am all for that.

1714215 tn?1334713869 You should be ok, but like Petite said you should consult your doctor before doing any serious exercise during pregnancy just to make sure it's OK. I know that I was walking about 2-4 miles a day in the weeks leading up to labor with my first child..mostly because I couldn't sit still, lol.
