Avatar f tn I'm almost 36 weeks and I feel like crap! Anyone else the same week as me feel like this?
368785 tn?1270432283 m 35 weeks with my first child, and I was wondering if any moms out there could tell me what contractions feel like. While I was loading the dishwasher today, I started to feel a sharp pain behind/to the left of my bellybutton. When I put my hand on my stomach it felt a lot harder than it usually does, but it only lasted for a few seconds. This happened three times for less than ten seconds within a ten minute period.
Avatar f tn The way a contraction feels is different for each woman, and may feel different from one pregnancy to the next. But labor contractions usually cause discomfort or a dull ache in your back and lower abdomen, along with pressure in the pelvis. Contractions move in a wave-like motion from the top of the uterus to the bottom. Some women describe contractions as strong menstrual cramps.
338830 tn?1229999478 I was wondering what contractions feel like. For the past two days I have been having these menstrual crampy feelings. They seem to come and go. Like lastnight I was on the couch and they kept coming and going. The ones lastnight were accompanied by a very bad backache. UGH. Do contractions feel similar to menstrual cramps? If not what would you describe them as feeling like. I was just wondering bc if these are contractions, I shouldn't be having them as I am only 26 weeks. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Ive also been experiencing what I think are contractions but not sure as this is my first pregnancy. Can any tell me what contractions feel like? Im afraid im going to go into labor and not know it.
Avatar f tn t had any bleeding or anything like that. I was just wondering what to look out for. Can anyone describe what contractions actually feel like and how to differentiate between other aches and pains?

Avatar f tn Contractions feel like cramps that get worse n worse. U can feel them bc they tightened up for seconds to minutes then release. Then do it all over again. If u put ur hand on the top of ur belly which is ur uterus u can feel them tight n release. Braxton hicks will go away if u lay on ur side, take a shower, or things like that. They dont get stronger n stronger. So hope this helps.
603411 tn?1220978808 I agree, it sounds like bh contractions and i wouln't worry unless they become regular (6 in an hour) and really painful. Your babies are also probably running out of room in there and causing pressure on all your organs and ligaments which can cause pain and discomfort. I know twins can come earlier than a single baby so maby mention it to your doc next time as at this stage in your pregnancy and with twins you should be seeing your doc every two weeks.
8480294 tn?1406317697 I know exactly how u feel. It feels like its taking way to long. And every time I get contractions it hurts so bad but I get all excited!
Avatar f tn I'm a ftm. And have been experiencing some pain. What do contractions feel like? And what should I expect?
Avatar f tn Mine feels like a ball of pressure tightening up in my stomach and my belly gets rock hard. They could start for you any time.
Avatar f tn t make it to the bathroom fast enough and it already trickles all over my legs. I feel like breaking down and crying. This pregnancy has been so hard. My others were a breeze. I loved being pregnant. Now I just cry all the time. My hubby doesn't understand so i can't talk to him.
Avatar f tn Most people say contractions feel like period cramps, but I have to disagree. I think they feel more like cramps you get when you are trying to hold in your poop until you find a bathroom, just more intense. I think too many people focus on timing contractions. Until they begin to make you cringe and hold your breathe, there is no need to time them and can put a lot of unneeded pressure on the mother.
Avatar f tn "Real contractions" feel like...well, let's put it like this. Have you ever had a stomach bug? Do you remember that moment before you finally "let loose"? You know, the agonizing cramps that have you sweating and wishing you could just die? That's really the only way to explain it. Back labor feels pretty much the same way, but in the lower back. They will get stronger with time and won't let up by resting or changing positions.
1901977 tn?1333991726 So I'm feeling a little sheepish asking this question, but this is my first pregnancy and the only time I've ever seen labor or a woman having contractions is on TV, which I would guess is not like the real thing. So how do you know when you're in labor? What does a contraction feel like, and how do you recognize it? Just curious, and wondering how I'll know when the time comes.
Avatar f tn today when i woke up this morning, i did not feel like my normal bubbly self. i just feel weird and "off" nothing hurts or anything, except ive thrown up 3 or 4 times other than that nothing. ive had a few contractions, but nothing too serious. idk has anyone else felt like this? is it a sign of anything, good or bad??
349859 tn?1257790973 Exactly what do BH contractions feel like? This is my 5th pregnancy so u would think I would know, but honestly...I don't recall ever havin BH contractions. I am 29 wks & I will get a tight feeling in my lower abdomen that lasts for maybe 10-20 seconds. This may jus be McKenzie balling up or sumthin. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!!
1023501 tn?1254833158 Contractions feel like major menstrual cramps, which usually start with aching in the back and moving around to the front of your stomach. The pressure gets tighter and tighter and once it peaks, it starts to relax. If you have back labor (which happened to me during my first labor), you might only feel cramping and pains in your back and they never come around to the front.
467126 tn?1283144858 My experience is that its really uncomfortable until its real and then it HURTS! I got tightening in my abdomen, my whole belly gets as hard as a rock, my "down there" area feels like its going to fall out and for those few moments i feel like i cant breathe (even though i can). But i do know that when i was in real labor it started this way and then it got worse and worse, the "not breathing" feeling got longer and i felt like i was constipated as all get out...
