Avatar f tn I have tried monitoring cervical mucus and we seem to be timing sex correctly for when mucus would indicate pre-ovulation and ovulation - so I guess my question is, will this eventually work or should we be doing more? (I live in a big city where it's impossible to get an OBGYN appointment within a reasonable amount of time - so I have to wait another month just to get in with a nurse practitioner - so I'd love some answers / tips now)- thanks!
Avatar m tn It just means your body is adjusting to the hormones of pregnancy. Count your pregnancy as beginning on the first day of your period in March (that is when doctors begin the count, the first day of bleeding of your last period). Get an ultrasound now, and ask the doctor not to use the first day of your period when determining your estimated due date. Ask him or her only to calculate based on the crown-to-rump measurement of the baby and its developmental markers.
Avatar f tn HI and thanks for using the forum. An ovulation tracker would be a good way to start. Ovulation can occur anywhere between Day 11 and Day 21 of your cycle depending on the length of your cycle (Day 1 being the first day of your last period). You are most fertile during ovulation so during this time you should have sex daily or every other day. You could also try OPK's (ovulation predictor kits).
Avatar m tn From the ultrasound, they should also be able to give you an estimated due date. You can count back on a calendar 266 days from that date to get to an estimated date of conception. If you get an ultrasound and the doctor or the tech says "You're 7 weeks pregnant," just keep in mind he or she is not saying you are 7 weeks from conception.
Avatar f tn My due date is may 25. My ovulation date was sept. 1! My last period was August 18, & that's what the doctors base your due date off of. They probably just told you your ovulation time, but regardless pregnancy is always based on your period. Don't over think it. Your due date is correct.
Avatar f tn Doctors calculate pregnancy using a 40-week calendar, though from the date of conception, pregnancy is only 38 weeks long. They go back and start the count on the first day of your last period. This is the way doctors have dated pregnancy for a long time, certainly from before the invention of ultrasounds, because the first day of a period is a noticeable signal and known date, and ovulation is hidden and happens on a date not usually known.
Avatar f tn Actually cervical mucus probably isn’t the most reliable indicator of pregnancy. So if you are trying for pregnancy then ovulation predictor kits which are readily available in the market can be used. Regarding the ideal time for confirming the status of pregnancy by urine for pregnancy test(UPT),the most accurate way to test for pregnancy is to wait until after your period is due. First appearance of pregnancy hormone, HCG, due to implantation occurs 6-12 days after ovulation.
Avatar f tn But I've been sexually active every day. I took first response pregnancy test , but came out negative. I know its early to test, but I could not wait. I'm going to take it again, if I have missed period. however, I was wondering if anyone got positive result 10 days prior to their period. thank you.
Avatar n tn (usually 24, but this month 26 due to stress) I went through Googles like crazy and tried every single ovulation calendar there is and all of them pointed my ovulation between the 20-26th of March. So we did it on the 20, 21, 22, took a break on 23 and 24 and did it again on the 25. I wanted to do it again on the 26, but my hubby can not even spell the word SEX anymore.
Avatar f tn How do you know for sure that you are ovulating? I use the ovulation predictor kit and get a positive about the exact same time every month, but that just means there is a surge, not necessarily that you are ovulating, right?? I know I do ovulate bc I've gotten pregnant 3 times, but after each m/c it took me nearly a year to get pregnant again. So how would I know if I'm actually ovulating each month? I do get the pain each month around the time I get my surge.
Avatar f tn But as I said, you can't know how the doctor got his or her estimate of your due date (giving a range is rather unusual) and if it was simply counting on a calendar rather than measuring the embryo, it is not necessarily a definitive. You need that next ultrasound.
Avatar f tn How early in the pregnancy were you given the due date? Was it from an ultrasound or a little wheel or a calendar?
Avatar n tn You might find it interesting to get some graph paper and start keeping a chart of the calendar date in relation to your cycle date. Label across the top, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. (the cycle days) as headings, and under the headings such as at the "1," write what day it is when your period begins, i.e., 8/12 or whatever, and keep filling in dates under the 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. headings until your next period comes. Then list ITS date as Day 1 on the next line.
1884694 tn?1320988055 thanks so much!!:) so now i am beginning to wonder if the fertile days on my app are off. lol I can tell you this, during the time I was supposed to be fertile/ovulating according to my app I sure was "in the mood"...I mean I guess maybe I thought I was ovulating and I REALLY wanted to get at it and make a baby so I was so into the BD at that time...but I really was in the mood and wanting it besides that we're TTC:) So is there any connection in being horny and ovulating??
Avatar n tn It might be off a little, unless you know exactly the date you conceived, you still never get an exact date. Baby will come when it comes.
Avatar f tn July 4, 2011 Possible Dates of Conception: June 30 to July 8, 2011 Due Date: March 26, 2012 (40 weeks)
Avatar f tn Yes, I had one in my sixth week to confirm pregnancy and they have me a January 25th due date. I had another one during my eleventh week and they said the same thing, January 25th. I explained my situation to my doctor during the eleventh week ultrasound, letting her know that I wanted to be absolutely sure of the date of conception. She said according to my LMP and the confirmation with the ultrasound, conception looks to have been May 4th. I've been reading a lot on pre *** also.
Avatar f tn I looked at my period calendar and my ovulation date was march 3rd
263950 tn?1221594291 // there is another link to the same page and it will help you will info you wanted to know about ovulation and other thinks your will need to know (im found it very usefull)
Avatar n tn The worst of it is on the ovulation day. the next day i am better. however between ovulation and my period i have mild pain. more like the feeling of pressure being applied to much to my lower stomach. Between my period and ovulation I have no pain. I go to see the GYN in 3 weeks. I am going to ask him for a D and C. From what I have learned so far is that it could be mild endrometrosis and that is why i have not been able to concive either.
Avatar m tn By conception calendar going off my due date everything points to my ex i was also given the due dates of 19th 22nd and then the 24th for a second time. My question is.. Is my baby my ex bfs. everything leads to that but want another opinion too?
413852 tn?1317312312 I have a medical wheel that will tell you the ovulation date. or you can go to the pregnancy site and put in first day of period and it will tell you that date also. If you want... email me your first day period... and I will let you know the O date... I wish you the best!! I cant wait till you get pregnant...I will keep my fingers crossed for dust>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>catch it.
Avatar f tn Thats usually a couple of weeks before the first day of your period. I found out by googling ovulation calculator/calendar, and that helped me out alot. Also, go to, and use their due date calendar, that can help to. If you haven't already i would suggest taking an HPT, or going to get a blood test. Best of luck to you!
1112961 tn?1266343440 I had what i thought was a normal period on the 3rd of October but was unsuccessful at concieving that month. I thoughti had symptoms but then realized it was probably all in my head. Took pregnancy tests and they were all negative =( I felt like it took forever for my next period to come but finally came on the 18th of November. Now you guys must know that i have irregular periods.
Avatar f tn If you are due April 16, you would have conceived around July 24, if the due date is accurate. (At what point in your pregnancy were you given this estimated due date by the ultrasound tech? If it was past your 12th week, there begins to be a margin for error of a week or more as time goes on.) Also, some women ovulate earlier or later in their cycles compared to average.
Avatar f tn Maybe, keep positive but don't over try cuz that just gets disappointing if it doesn't...keep things spontaneous and unplanned and it seems to happen better that way!
Avatar f tn *yesterday was my ovulation date
