Pregabalin tolerance

Common Questions and Answers about Pregabalin tolerance

lyrica

Avatar f tn I have found numerous posts on tolerance. And as you can see even some of the litature discusses tolerance. So I do beleive as with most medications, your body can build a tolerance to Lyrica. In CP sufferes I don't think it has a thing to do with misuse, abuse or drug seeking behavior. It's just our bodies building a tolerance. I hope this information was helpful.
Avatar f tn Muscle weakness, pain ,burning pain and fatigue are few of the common symptoms of fibromyalgia. Medications like Duloxetione, pregabalin and Milnacipram have been approved for treating fibromyalgia.Duloxetine, Lyrica, and milnacipran are medications that are approved specifically for treating fibromyalgia. The goal of treatment in this condition is to improve sleep and pain tolerance. Medicines should always be used along with exercise and behavior therapy.
570190 tn?1216923314 I am struggling bad here. I am not feeling relief for nerve pain in my back anymore with the meds! I am currently only taking neurontin for pain. I was tired of taking narcotics due to the side effects. Plus I have 2 young children that need be to be coherent! Anyways, I have been on neurontin for a month and a half now. I went and saw the spine specialist and I explained to him that I must be building a tolerance to the neurontin seeing that it wasn't working for me.
901222 tn?1399142874 I was in the same boat and I don't know if this will work for you but it did for me. I got on lyrica 100mg. It's non narcotic and helps withdrawal. I think it's actually for fibromyalgia or nerve pain not really sure but I got shot in the face and jumped a year later and they hit me in the jaw with a sledge hammer and it works good for me.
Avatar f tn I am taking percocet 10/325 just once a day and already I have seemed to develop a tolerance to it. Neither ibuprofen nor acetaminophen help me. I have young kids and am pretty much alone so I can't take narcotics during the day. I just saw the surgeon 2 days ago and there are no overt signs of infection. I'm just wondering if this pain is normal and if there is anything I can take or do in the meantime. Are heating pads okay? It seems to hurt more when I am cold.

Avatar m tn The only anti anxiety medication iv been on is pregabalin, was on it for over a year but it didnt really agree with me.im currently taking fluxoteine 20mg x 2 a day and cinerazine.Im looking for a anti anxiety drug to help stop this dizziness that iv had for over 2 years,im not looking for a "fix" but something to help me while i battle this anxiety and agoraphobia.Have you ever been on buspar?
Avatar m tn To have withdrawal symptoms for any medication, you first have to have developed a tolerance to that medication. This takes time. Tolerance is defined as by decline in efficacy, meaning that a dose that was effective for a long time stopped working, and an increase in medication improved the situation. Tolerance takes time. Perhaps you are having a side effect to the medication??
Avatar m tn I'm 21 and male. I was having arm pains which was caused by neck pain for bad posture on computer desk. So I went to the GP (general medicine) and he said the pain is for the neck, and it will go away and asked me to do some static neck exercise and swimming and prescribed 'Pregabalin m-75' to take for 1 month and stop.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Hi i wondered if anyone could explain there experience of Pregabalin (Lyrica?) i have been on Gabapentin for the last 3 months with only a little success (the twitches have reduced considerably) but no relief pain. Now the Dr is going to swap me to Pregabalin which has to be done slowly to switch from one to the other, so this will start as soon as I'm home from holiday. I wondered if anyone had done this and what there experience of the drugs are?
Avatar m tn no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.
Avatar m tn I have been on MS Contin, and Percocet for about 3 years, and over that time I have gotten increases to where I am now which is 300MGs MS Contin and 60MGs percocet. My question is,if I take my meds as directed can I keep my tolerance where it is?Or is there a way to keep it from going up?Maybe taking a little less once in a while? I don't want to go any higher on the dosage, what I am on now makes certain activities difficult as it is.Thanks for any help.
Avatar f tn At least once a year we lose control and have to stop because of the tolerance increase. 10 days ago we both stopped taking between 4-5 40mg OC per day. Kratom is the easiest way to stop, and people in other countries have used it for centuries. It's legal, and it works, and it's the Creators gift to heroine addicts. Look it up on U-Tube. Tastes like mud but it makes you feel normal without any withdrawal symptoms. I gotta go so good luck bro, may Yahweh be with you.
Avatar f tn This past weekend we were discussing (not arguing) and the topic of tolerance came up. I said that these pills should never have been given for long term pain management because there is no way to help with the tolerance and the constant need to have more to achieve the same level of pain management. He says that is NOT true. He believes that if it is truly only being used for pain and not for ANY kind of high then you dont build up a tolerance.
Avatar f tn Ive been on pain meds for 5 or so years, and am curious if anyone else who has taken them for that long, has experienced them 'not working' anymore? we build our tolerance, and eventually its not the same. does that mean its time to stop taking them b/c they arent working like they used to? or wein down to get tolerance lower? does this get to a point where regardless of how hight the dosage, there comes a point where they stop working all together?
1218873 tn?1300091216 Anyway just before we went, I had an dr. appointment. In short he is changing the Gabapentin to Pregabalin which he is asking my GP to over see when I'd returned from holiday. Also did a blood test for sarcoid, as I have had eye problems, he felt this was unlikley but wanted the test done. If that is negative he is refering me to a specialist for botox which will help the TN pain. So I have returned to find a letter from my GP to go and see him as soon as I return from holiday.
3122908 tn?1342154651 I can guarantee not only will your pain come back, but you will so miserable! I take its cousin, pregabalin, for nerve pain in my back, and occasionally I run low on them and you would not believe how many aches and pains a person really has until they quit a drug to help all that. It is a fairly mild drug, however, so it's not like you won't be able to function, you just won't be a happy camper.
983008 tn?1329925830 t spoken to my Dr yet as the surgery has been shut over Xmas and I did expect evrything to calm down since increasing the Pregabalin, am currently visiting my lovely stepdaughter for a few days (sitting with my feet up and playing with her laptop) I am seeing my neuro in a few weeks but am wondering if I should visit my Dr again as at this rate I doubt I will be back to work next week - the Hospital did mention putting me on a steroid drip and then changed their minds - is this the way forward?
Avatar f tn I have recently seen my Neurologist, who has confirmed I am suffering with Anxiety and has suggested I go on a drug called Pregabalin and he has said it will help my sleep problem. My question is has anyone had any experiences with this drug, if so comments very welcome.
1452289 tn?1285614948 hi i suffer from chronic back pain and foot drop which results in chronic pain in my hips and legs, ive been on oxicontin 10mg 2x a day and tramadol 300mg 2-3x a day + ibruprofen paracetomol amytripiline and pregabalin for nearly a year. ive been asking for my drs to switch up my medication for a bout 6 months as this conconction isnt working but they tell me there is nothing else for me to try, ive also been on fentanyl patches before.
Avatar m tn So my GP prescribed me static neck exercise, swimming and prescribed to take Pregabalin-M 75 (Pregabalin-Methylcobalamine tablets 75mg) For 1 month and then stop. I took 5 doses yet. But I'm having this following side-effects - dizziness, sleepiness whole day, lack of interest and and concentration, bad mood, sexually charged dreams, erection problem and lack of libido or interest in sexual desire. I have a high libido by default. But I'm not feeling it since I took the medicines.
1253197 tn?1331209110 I was on 1800mg a day and put on a stone over 4 months! I have now swapped to pregabalin and I am beginning to lose the weight. I changed drug because the Gabapentin was not controling my symptoms enough nothing to do with the weight gain, I am now on 400mg of Pregabalin and I am try to lose the weight I have gained so far I have lost half a stone in about three weeks. I know that there are many people who feel that Pregabalin also makes them put on weight.
Avatar f tn Has your doctor tried opioid rotation to manage your tolerance? This is a common technique to manage opioid tolerance, and one is usually able to lower the equal analgesic dose of pain medication because of a phenomenon known as "cross-tolerance." Ask your doctor about opioid rotation. I've been managing my pain medications this way for over 20 years.
