lyrica

Avatar m tn i am on 185 mg of venalfaxine i have been on 50mg of pregabalin twice a day before that 25mg twice a day since 21st may feeling not to well tummy trouble and so weak how long will it take to work thankyou
Avatar f tn Xanax), are Buspar (buspirone) or another one that is fairly new is Lyrica (pregabalin). These do take time to work (several weeks) so they need to be taken on a regular basis. Maybe your doctor will feel more comfortable prescribing one of those. Increasing your dose of Savella will not help with anxiety. It is more for depression and fibromyalgia.
Avatar n tn I read about it and it appears it is not an SSRI. Did you have a specific reason for going on Lyrica?
Avatar n tn Lupus and Lyme disease are 2 disorders that should be investigated, as is fibromyalgia. I agree that merely prescribing pain killers is not the way to proceed. Good luck in getting to the bottom of this.
Avatar f tn t sleep for pain im exhausted along with depression and fibromyalgia. what should i do ? neurologist given me pregabalin and tried lamotrigine bot they don't work.
1039200 tn?1314912008 Has anyone heard of Pregabalin (lyrica) for bipolar or anxiety? - my doctor wants me to try, but I have not heard about it before and would like to know if anyone here has tried it or knows anyone who has. Is it used as a mood stabiliser? - I can't find it on the web site ILADVOCATE recomended me a long time ago, does this mean it's not a mood stabiliser or just a new brand?
Avatar m tn This is true of gabapentin and pregabalin which were originally invented for seizures. Pregabalin is similar to gabapentin but has less side effects and often people who can not tolerate gabapentin benefit from pregabalin. However it is more expensive. The same is true for medications such as amitryptiline, which was originally used for depression but is now a mainstay of treatment for neuropathic pain. However, it has several side effects and may not be used in patients with heart problems.
Avatar m tn Most of us cannot prescribe or advise (we are not physicians), but I am aware of seemingly countless medications that are available. Those medications fall into "classes." Your Pregabalin is an "anti-seizure" medication which has been found to lower the nerves' ability to send pain signals -- that's why it's helpful to a lot of people with back/neck/nerve pain. Another class of medications are the "opiates" (like morphine, hydrocodone, codeine, etc.).
Avatar f tn s an opiate or not. I have not looked into this but I will. If I discover information that indicates you may develop a tolerance I will re-post on your thread. I hope you will be able to control your pain soon. Please keep us updated and let us know how you are doing.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Anyway just before we went, I had an dr. appointment. In short he is changing the Gabapentin to Pregabalin which he is asking my GP to over see when I'd returned from holiday. Also did a blood test for sarcoid, as I have had eye problems, he felt this was unlikley but wanted the test done. If that is negative he is refering me to a specialist for botox which will help the TN pain. So I have returned to find a letter from my GP to go and see him as soon as I return from holiday.
Avatar n tn I saw a rheumatologist, he diagnosed it as post-traumatic arthralgia and gave me Voltral(diclofenac) and Zeegap(pregabalin) for 2 weeks. I want to know its reversal ttime and precautions to prevent it from aggrevate.
Avatar f tn Prozac (fluoxetine) and Lyrica (pregabalin) (Moderate Drug-Drug) MONITOR: Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. MANAGEMENT: During concomitant use of these drugs, patients should be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS and respiratory depression.
Avatar n tn my daughter has had 2 surgeries for pituiatry tumour, radiotherapy, she still has remnant tumour, (Acromegaly) but also has facial ear and neck pain, which prof says is because tumour is pressing on trigeminal nerve, tried amytrplin, never worked, 3 weeks ago prof put her on Pregabalin, small dose then up to 300 a day, within a few days of upping the dose, she has been in more pain than ever, crying, agitated, and said she thought she had pain before, but now this is unbearable, they have told
Avatar m tn Other drugs like gabapentin, pregabalin, amitryptline, carbamazepine are also effective and are relatively safe as compared to nortryptline. For more information visit http://www.drugs.com/nortriptyline.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nortriptyline http://www.patient.co.
Avatar f tn Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.

Avatar n tn Please ask your doctor about drugs such as Gabapentin or Pregabalin, because I heard that some women have found relief with these type of meds which target specifically neuropathic pain. Best wishes and I hope that you'll feel better soon... P.S.Most women have one breast lower than the other, its very common. The breasts are rarely exactly symmetrical.
1252153 tn?1269094321 can anyone tell me what Lyrica is and Savella, in england Lyrica is a company who make a drug called Pregabalin, thats what i am on now, been back to doc 2day and he has give me a larger dose of pregabalin.
Avatar n tn I am happy to address the issues that you pose, although it is important that you recognize that my impression is based entirely on the information you have provided in your posting and is by no means a replacement for an office visit with a neurologist. Avatar f tn The information you all have provided here is greatly appreciated and not to mention very informative. I'm working on learning everything I can to help two people actually. They're a couple so it's very hard. But I know there are problems with addiction for both of them. I figure the more knowledge I have the more prepared I will be. I have one of them willing to talk to me tonight. He knows what I'm going to be talking about and I'm so surprised he said ok...

408795 tn?1324935675 Although not as specific, it contain much of the same information and is readily available to the patient and the doctor. This information label was given to me by my GI to read and discuss regarding issues related to anger and depression and the potential for needing an AD sometime during trt. I would hope all doctors discuss this prior to trt, but this may not be the case. I'm also curious what "psychological evaluations" are being done.
Avatar n tn I've been taking 150mg of diclofenac (split over 3 times a day), 600mg Tramadol ( again split up 3 times a day), 450mg Pregabalin (split up twice a day) & 60mg of dihydrocodine at night for about 5 months. I stopped taking the Tramadol 1 week ago and am having problems sleeping. I want to stop taking everything else., What symptoms am i likely to have if i just stop taking all these tablets in the morning.
Avatar f tn There should be a prescribing information sheet included with a prescription medicine that will list known side effects.
