I assume you are talking about an Epidural Steroid Injection. There are several theories on how this injection actually works. The steroid is injected directly into the part of the spinal column that is called the epidural space, not your nerve. This is thought to aid in reducing this inflammation.... which is often the source of nerve pain.

I have had the symptoms since March 09. I am taking Lyrica (Pregabalin). and Cesamet. They seem to be working more or less. Sometimes I top off the the pain medication by vaporizing bud. Lyrica is used in the Treatment of neuropathic pain in adults. Cesamet is synthetic THC. It's a nasty thing to have. I believe that the problem is the pain. Kill the pain as much as possible so you can do physio and keep moving. The worse time for me is the morning and then very late at night.

Did you see a doctor and get a nerve test. Yhey place small injection like probes under the skin and send tiny shocks where they have placed them on your legs , feet and legs? To see if it is caused by the brain or you may have something in the spine wrong sending the wrong signals to your leg. Most likely a herniated disc. Slipped disc!

can anyone tell me what Lyrica is and Savella, in england Lyrica is a company who make a drug called Pregabalin,thats what i am on now,been back to doc 2day and he has give me a larger dose of pregabalin.

The only anti anxiety medication iv been on is pregabalin,was on it for over a year but it didnt really agree with me.im currently taking fluxoteine 20mg x 2 a day and cinerazine.Im looking for a anti anxiety drug to help stop this dizziness that iv had for over 2 years,im not looking for a "fix" but something to help me while i battle this anxiety and agoraphobia.Have you ever been on buspar?

I'm 21 and male. I was having arm pains which was caused by neck pain for bad posture on computer desk. So I went to the GP (general medicine) and he said the pain is for the neck, and it will go away and asked me to do some static neck exercise and swimming and prescribed 'Pregabalin m-75' to take for 1 month and stop.

Hi i wondered if anyone could explain there experience of Pregabalin (Lyrica?) i have been on Gabapentin for the last 3 months with only a little success (the twitches have reduced considerably) but no relief pain. Now the Dr is going to swap me to Pregabalin which has to be done slowly to switch from one to the other, so this will start as soon as I'm home from holiday. I wondered if anyone had done this and what there experience of the drugs are?

no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.

Thanks for that, Tuck. I've had a look through PubMed database to see if there have been scientific studies specifically on the question of tolerance, but without joy. As far as I can tell, the main assumption/claim is that because pregabalin is not known to be metabolically active (ie, the liver and body don't metabolise it into other molecules) the patient shouldn't develop tolerance. I am now a bit more sceptical of that claim.

There are a host of other medications that have shown benefit to patients including primidone, gabapentin/pregabalin, benzodiazepenes, and some anticonvulsant drugs. Topamax is one of these anticonvulsants. Some of the adverse effects associated with topamax include paresthesias (numbness/tingling), somnolence, dizziness, and risk for kidney stones. Anyway just before we went, I had an dr. appointment. In short he is changing the Gabapentin to Pregabalin which he is asking my GP to over see when I'd returned from holiday. Also did a blood test for sarcoid, as I have had eye problems, he felt this was unlikley but wanted the test done. If that is negative he is refering me to a specialist for botox which will help the TN pain. So I have returned to find a letter from my GP to go and see him as soon as I return from holiday.

t spoken to my Dr yet as the surgery has been shut over Xmas and I did expect evrything to calm down since increasing the Pregabalin, am currently visiting my lovely stepdaughter for a few days (sitting with my feet up and playing with her laptop) I am seeing my neuro in a few weeks but am wondering if I should visit my Dr again as at this rate I doubt I will be back to work next week - the Hospital did mention putting me on a steroid drip and then changed their minds - is this the way forward?

So my GP prescribed me static neck exercise, swimming and prescribed to take Pregabalin-M 75 (Pregabalin-Methylcobalamine tablets 75mg) For 1 month and then stop. I took 5 doses yet. But I'm having this following side-effects - dizziness, sleepiness whole day, lack of interest and and concentration, bad mood, sexually charged dreams, erection problem and lack of libido or interest in sexual desire. I have a high libido by default. But I'm not feeling it since I took the medicines.

I was on 1800mg a day and put on a stone over 4 months! I have now swapped to pregabalin and I am beginning to lose the weight.
