The gabapentin is because 600mg is the maximum allowed dose of pregabalin (in Australia), and by taking gabapentin at night I can squeeze a few more hours of lower pain out of the day. Gabapentin's only real side effect has been a little queasiness. Unless you have one of the severe reactions like rash - and that one is a major warning - giving either one of the two drugs a month or two is probably a good experiment.

she has had severe pain in her joints as well as a lot of pain in her hands and arms...no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.

My reasoning is that since most side-effects diminish over time (eg a month or so), the human body must be adapting to the pregabalin in some manner. The scientific literature about pregabalin is largely silent on whether this can also happen with the main-effect of pain relief. I'm pretty sure that my condition isn't worsening at the moment, although it is a possibility. Anyway, it is a sunny day here, so I'm off to walk the dog.

I think I have fewer side effects with pregabalin (Lyrica). Like I said, I couldn't take more than 300 mg of gabapentin at a time, without getting dizzy, no matter how slowly I increased. I take 100 mg of Lyrica (=~ 1200 mg of gabapentin, I think!) + 300 mg of gabapentin at the same time w/o getting dizzy.
