For goodness sake did someone invent that term that never went through this surgery. ITs deep pain just like after surgery, I will even admit it mat be phantom limb pain but it hurts so bad I can't work I am about to loose my job because the pain and exhaustion are casusing me to miss constantly. I have heard that Lyrica actually worse that Gabapentin for the weight gain. I have gained a bit on the gabapentin too, but my mother was on Lyric and gained 30 lbs. in a VERY short time. you might want to reconsider it. I donèt know if it is a body type and condition that causes the weight gain, but I have heard it alot from people on Lyrica. Just check it out Pat, and see what your Dr.

Hi, Yes, I had the same thing... almost like a "phantom pain" when folks lose a limb.. It did go away finally but as Ireneo said, keep a watch on it. Mine finally did go away but it took more than 3 week. I understand it takes longer to heal on the inside than on the ourside..

i've had Keinbocks Disease for over 10 years now, have had 4 operations each one worse than the last but nothing seems to be working. I have been on Lyrica for about 5-6 months (at 600mg/day for around 4 months) for chronic pain in the upper back - T5. Lyrica is my only prescription pain relief. It has worked quite well until recently; as some of the last remaining side effects have faded away, so too has its effectiveness. Through some experimenting with dose I have found that decreasing my dose to 300mg/day leads to a marked increase in pain, particularly in places that were free of pain *before* I had ever tried Lyrica.
