Did the anxiety start while you were on the prednisone or after you stopped? im going to be having a fess surgery and my dr prescribed prednisone on july 1,08 4 pills a day for 4 days and then cut back by 1 pill a day,but it makes me so nervous because i have bad anxiety he said i could take a half a dose so i have been taking 2 tablets aday today is my 4 thr day im wondering how i will tapeer off that cant reach dr till monday my surgery is wed.

I am concerned with the last month which will be 1mg every other day.
So far it seems I am just one of those people that do better dropping .5mg at a time. Now that I think back I should have been dropping.
My 70 lb 12 year old golden retriever has a skin condition and was on Prednisone last year for about three weeks. She broke out with the same rash a few days ago, and (stupidly) instead of taking her to the vet, I gave her the same dosage of medicine that we had left over from the last time. t experience withdrawal, prescribed me a Medrol dose-pack and the muscle relaxant cyclobezeprine (Flexeril). Other medical/psychiatric conditions I have are hypothyroidism and bi-polar disorder/depression for which I take levothyroxine (Synthroid), divalproex (Depakote) and bupropion (Welbutrin).

I'm taking Prednisone for buzzing in the head/ear and it stops it. I was prescribed 1 20 mg tblet per day for 5 days. The awful buzzing stopped for 3 weeks after I used it for 5 days.Then it started again. So I went to ER and they said I had so much wax in my right ear that it was impacted and covering my ear drum so they cleaned it out. I had no buzzing for two days; also they prescribed the Prednisone again for 5 days. I took ONE AND REALIZED IT WORK IMMEDIATELY. The awful noise stopped.
Ok so I went off of iv steroids and now have 2 weeks of prednisone to take and this is my 2nd day. I feel a crawling sensation on left side of face. I feel like the tip of my tongue in tingly, I am seeing stars every now and then and some stomach pain. Just need reassurance this is normal? I thought I was supposed to have energy but it 5pm and I'm tired. I dont like this feeling.
I have available about 10 1 mg xanax so I am going to do the best I can with what I have. I have read horror stories about withdrawal and I have a highly stressful job, also due to the benzo addiction I have brain fog and make silly mistakes, I feel shame at work. So does anyone have any ideas on how to make this manageable? I want my life back and I want to be able to function.
Usually Prednisone raises glucose levels, not lower. One thing to note is if you have been on Prednisone for more than one month, it is important that you do not stop it "cold turkey." This can cause an acute withdrawal reaction that can lead to a crisis situation - you can mess up your adrenal gland where adrenal exhaustion can lead to hypoglycemia. You'll need to travel outside of your area for an evaluation by an Endo. Mine is 50+ miles away one-way.
