Avatar n tn Corticosteroid medications such as prednisone do have many possible side effects. Increased heart rate, sweating and nervousness are fairly common with these medications. Other common side effects include difficulty sleeping, vertigo, increased appetite, indigestion, and mood changes. The prednisone should be out of your system a couple of days after your last dose. You should consult your physician as soon as possible if you are still experiencing these symptoms.
Avatar n tn Those sound like normal side effects of prednisone. Nasty drug but can save a dog's life. My golden has been taking 50mg daily for 2 months and the side effects are horrible.
980510 tn?1282010946 I've taken Prednisone for years with no side effects, so I can't answer on a personal level, but if your neuro told you to stop it if you got any of the listed side effects, then I HIGHLY recommend that you stop taking it, and CALL HIM IMMEDIATELY and let him know what your reactions were. It'll help him treat your condition better.
Avatar f tn Hi, Thanks for responding but this didn't really answer my question. I am being treated for the headaches & ear pain w/ the Prednisone. I am wanting answers on what could be causing my headache & ear pain. I am aware of the side effects of Prednisone.
Avatar n tn Has anyone had the unfortunate side effects form Zithromax that causes heart racing and palpitations and did they go away on their own or require treatment.
Avatar m tn I woke up this morning worried about side effects and felt like my heart was racing and going to beat out of my chest. I took 2 xanax (which I've been taking for years) and feel like I'm calming down, but I'm worried this racing heart is a side effect or if it's just my anxiety of taking the new medication. I want to get my life back but I think I'm afraid even this won't work. Would appreciate any advice or feedback.
Avatar m tn The next night i felt palpitations and my heart racing extremely fast which made me think i was dying so i called 911. They ran a few ekgs and blood tests and nothing was found. They also gave me a 30 day monitor to calm me down that i had to wear around. Whenever i had symptoms i would press a button and record. I constantly felt like i was dying and racing heart but according to the montitor it was always anxiety.
Avatar n tn My guess is that what you're experiencing IS from teh prednisone and should dissipate in a few days. I've been on prednisone quite often in my life and I also experience the same thing sometimes - my face will get beet red, feel hot to the touch (but I'm not running a fever) and will feel tight and dry.
Avatar f tn was red and flushed only on head neck and face.....nowhere else......was told prednisone side effect....but being riddled with panic disorder I checked latuda site......rare but deadly side effect called nms...neuropaletic malignant syndrome.....symptoms are. Excess sweating,Bp changes, heart beat changes, rigid muscles confusion, fever, breathing changes......says if have any of these to call needs treatment in hospital......is this thing I'm going thru nms?
Avatar m tn I tood prednisone 20mg for 2 days and began having anxiety symptoms, I was feeling jittery, felt like like I was dying, having right side pain by breast and top of rib cage, right leg pain, I just felt terrible, my bp began to become elevated, heart racing, crazy thoughts going through my head.
Avatar f tn However not ALL people experience side effects from this drug. But yes indeed this med can cause anxiety, agitation, heart racing, insomina, weakness and the list goes on....Just research this drug and you will see. And if does have lasting effects on SOME people. Even after taking it a lot of people on this same site have experienced on going side effects that get better with time. I am going to post my personal story below.
Avatar f tn t been getting better I was given the prednisone. My first full day taking it was today. I felt my heart racing all day, had no appetite, and my head has hurt. I have been tired yet I cannot sleep.. I don't know what to do or who to go to because the doctors here have not helped much. I just want energy back again so I can exercise and travel! Do you have mono? Were your symptoms similar to mine? Thanks for the reply.
Avatar f tn I am also diabetic @ bood sugars are higher than usual is this a side effect of prednisone, have 3 more days on prednisone should I stop?
505094 tn?1240317431 re confused and fearful. Have you looked up the side effects of progesterone? I was on that years ago and couldn't tolerate it, but for the life of me I can't remember what happpened. Like you, I too have been on loads of meds. In your place I would ask as much as you can during your biopsy, and would also bombard your PCP with questions. He or she should be guiding you through all of this. The stress factor makes things incredibly worse.
Avatar n tn Yesterday, my heart was racing abnormally. I had a dry mouth and my arms and legs were shaking, I had irregular breathing, and I could feel every single heart beat in my chest; even the skipped beats. I also felt a little nauseous. At first I thought I was just a bit happy to talk to a person I hadn't talked to in a few days, online, but it didn't stop like how it usually is when someone's nervous.
Avatar n tn I've been on armour about a week and half for my hypo and have just recently started to feel some side effects. I've started getting some pains in my chest, it feels like it's right up under my heart, mostly during the night or in the morning. They don't really last long but I definitely notice it when its there. I am also very aware of my heart beat, even though it's not racing and at a normal rate, around the time these happen.
1460967 tn?1512401138 Just wondering?? I feel like i'm super depressed and extremely moody and the only change that i can pinpoint is the nuvaring! I am 4 months pp but I dont feel like that is the reason i feel like this!! I have always been on the pill and thought I'd try something new??? Also my breast have gotten much much larger im having pretty bad cramping randomly lower abd and have noticed iv been having lots of leg cramps! I definitly dont think its a clot or anything!
1744910 tn?1314199685 I had 5 days of IV solumedrol -- in the hospital, given every 6 hours. I had no problems, except lack of sleep, mostly a result of the hospital noise & 6-hr intervals. I will say that my blood sugar went up several times (I'm NOT diabetic), and I got insulin injections when it happened. I was told this is not unusual with IVSM, so if you get put on it, DO ask for blood sugar (finger-stick) testing. I'm not sure how the testing is handled if you are not an inpatient.
Avatar m tn She told me that she had taken the steroid 3 different times for life or death situations and saved her life every time but left her with this crazy side effects. She told me every time she took it, the side effects left her within 32 days exactly but for me it didn't go away for months, and I sometimes still feel weird like the side effects but my aunt said this could just be stress or my mind playing tricks but either way I don't like it.
Avatar n tn I've noticed that after 3 months of daily prednisone that I have developed hair on my upper lip and jaw line. Has anyone else experienced side effects like this? I don't see how it will go away on it's own. How do you treat unwanted facial hair? This is quite upsetting to me. Thanks!
