I know some people have said there are no side effects from Cortef and that it's probably my dose is too low, but I now have at least 10 of the side effects listed on the prescription information website. These also all start within minutes of taking a dose (I'm currently taking 25mg). I get headaches, become extremely thirsty, heart pounding, very dizzy and weak, feel like I'm going to pass out.

I’ve had the most horrible side effects. I already suffer with really bad acid reflux (diagnosed as IBS co they couldn’t find anything else). Well this drug gave me acid to die for – pains in the neck, back, stomach under my ribs; I thought I was having a heart attack!! The acid is so bad at the moment it is making me cough when it hits my throat and the pain – well – and its been 36 hours since I took a tablet. For goodness sake I only took 10 mg and only managed that for 2 days!!!

The Dr put me on Bystolic, but it was samples and there is no information on side effects. I have started having stomach problems and acid reflux lately. Can the Bystolic be causing this? What would be other good choices?

m also a heart patient and have to take a lot of drugs for that condition. Frankly, the chance of even mild side effects of most prescribed drugs for acid reflux are very, very low, and the benefit of them in my opinion strongly trumps the dangers. I'm taking far more reactive drugs for my heart condition. If you look up these drugs you will read horror stories from users. Keep in mind, only the very motivated talk about drug reactions, and you are reading the exceptions, not the rules.

They work but the side effects are undesirable. I chew gum a lot and that helps. But I need more. Please advise.

My question is, would the increase in acid reflux and stomach pain be a likely side effect of the doxycycline. I know doxycycline can cause acid reflux or stomach pain right after you take it, but could it cause it many hours later? What about the itchy bumps on my arm? I know doxycycline can make your skin sensitive to light, so might that be a skin reaction caused by it?

I started taking omeprazole for acid reflux but stopped it after reading about the side effects,anemia as it takes out vitamin b12,broken bones as it takes out calcium and a risk of severe cold infections as it takes out vitamin c.A local doctor links acid reflux with anemia,so I started taking multi vits with iron and the acid reflux disappeared.

Its a mild case of COPD and was prescribed Combivent as needed, I recently started having a burning in my left side lung, my pulmonologist felt it was acid reflux, I had no other acid reflux symptoms besides the burning throughout the day. but, that might also be because they had more serious complaints (to them). And I do think it is very possible that acid reflux is the culprit. Try treating that (pepcid) and see what happens. Wondering if you have come under more stress lately...which can contribute to or cause acid reflux. You also might experiment with a stronger Vyvanse dose. You can go higher then the recommended dose. Hope this helps.

I'm wondering if the medications for gerd and acid reflux can cause high bloodpreasure and palpatations. i suffered with acid reflux for years and then i got on some prilosec and my symptoms went away but i started getting bad head aches and it felt like my heart was skipping so i went to the doc and he said i had high blood preasure but my colesteral was good. I then changed my diet and wheened myself off the prilosec and all the symptoms went away.

HOLY COW! Started taking Protonix for my acid reflux and it worked great. Problem is my prescription insurance has run out so I now have to purchase Zantac or Prilosec OTC. Anyway...I started with Prilosec (omeprozole) and all was well until day 6 when I developed the worst, constant, headache, skin rash on my arm and blurry vision.

Those sound like normal side effects of prednisone. Nasty drug but can save a dog's life. My golden has been taking 50mg daily for 2 months and the side effects are horrible.
