Is this from the steroids? If so, when will it pass? How long does prednisone stay in your system? I also have a racing heart and feel a little anxious. I am unsure if that is because I feel very hot or if it's just me experiencing anxiety. My face also feels a little tight and is dry.

Regarding the question about the sponges causing cancer...it is highly unlikely. It is theoretically possible that the foreign body has weakened the immune system and therefore increased the risk of cancer but that is not likely.

I believe I've read here that prednisone reduces your chances of SVR because it supresses the immune system thereby undoing interferon's effect. No wonder it makes you feel good.
