I am 24 years old and was referred to an oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth extraction. All four wisdom teeth are impacted, the top two have erupted through the skin, but the bottom two have not come through yet. The oral surgeon informed never once mentioned bone grafting- until I got to the counter and the recptionist was putting together the treatment plan- and then it was mentioned that it was recommended to have bone grafting done after the extraction of the bottom two wisdom teeth.

If there is not much room for the wisdom teeth to come through, they become impacted and can be extremely painful with facial swelling and throat problems. It may be wise to see the dentist or the doctor for an antibiotic as you are having difficulty swallowing. You won't experience facial swelling after the wisdom teeth are removed, but it will take a few weeks for the gums where the wisdom teeth have been extracted, to heal.

Definitely see about having your wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon as opposed to a general dentist. Chances are with a general dentist, the most you would receive as far as sedation would be gas, although some dentists are now using what they call "sedation dentistry" where you take an oral medication about an hour before your appointment to help relax you.

i got my wisdom teeth pulled about two months ago but where my lower left one was removed there is a sharp portrution like a piece of tooth was left in the hole and there is some pain to is this something i should be concerned with.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled over the summer. I was not pregnant but I couldnt imagine not having ibuprofen afterwards. I cant handle vicodin so I lived on ibuprofen. They're is plent of room for them to come in, it's just they really hurt and I was wondering if anyone knew any other remedies to help ease the pain, or how long they will take to come in

After my two top teeth are removed, how long does it take for the bleeding to stop? Is it likely to occur for 1-2 weeks? Will it always be actively bleeding?

I use to be an oral surgery assistant. It's always best to wait for anything since the numbing medicine isn't the best for the baby. If you need it taken out you will need a drs not from your OB. Having an infection isn't good either. Rinse your mouth out with mouthwash to help clean the bacteria. We use to say it's best to wait, but infections always came first to remove.

the symptoms are teeth hurt, vomiting, mucsles hurt in stomach it has been going and going for a week and a half and i know my wisdom teeth should have been taken out about 5 yrs ago. and when i brush my teeth it is a reddish brown color.

It was difficult for me to open my mouth, much like when I had my wisdom teeth removed. When the swelling feeling is not there, I can open my mouth fine with no pain. Some times it is swelling with extreme pain, some times it is just swelling and sometimes it is just pain. The problem is that when I look to see if anything is swollen, it does not look any different than normal from the outside of my mouth but I obviously cannot see my own sinuses or my jaw.

I guess ever since ive been taking prenatals and ive been pregnant my wisdom teeth have been killing me! They were growing before I was pregnant but now im waking up with a sore jaw line and gums. Im not even sure if I can get them taken out while im pregnant. Has this happened to anybody else?
