100% deaf in my left ear. I had my first prednisone injection in my inner ear and started on 60 mg oral prednisone for 10 days and then step down every 3 days for the next 10 days (6/3/2/1). After my second injection on October 26, 2015, I could actually hear words - faint words, but words. I had my 3rd and final injection on November 2, 2015. I am just today finishing up my last prednisone pill.
I'm taking Prednisone for buzzing in the head/ear and it stops it. I was prescribed 1 20 mg tblet per day for 5 days. The awful buzzing stopped for 3 weeks after I used it for 5 days.Then it started again. So I went to ER and they said I had so much wax in my right ear that it was impacted and covering my ear drum so they cleaned it out. I had no buzzing for two days; also they prescribed the Prednisone again for 5 days. I took ONE AND REALIZED IT WORK IMMEDIATELY. The awful noise stopped.

I can hear but, it feel like I have pressure in my ear and as though the right ear only. I also hear slight ringing at times including small clicking noises randomly. I have a 3rd follow up appointment w/ my ENT on Thursday. The 2 hearing tests at this point show loss of low frequency and voices sound high pitched in the right ear.
Should I be going to a specialist? I suggested that I had water in my inner ear but, the doctor will not agree.
s been over a month since I got the tinnitus. I met with my family doctor and took 5 days of Prednisone. The symptom went away for a few days and came back. Did you take any medication for the tinnitus?
sorry it took so long to get back! Actually, at this time, I DON'T have the puls. type of tinnitus I am so sorry to be misleading-I have had it in the past and one of my daughters has had it also. I am experiencing the ringing type right now.One of the times I had the puls.type I was pregnant and the ent diagnosed it as eustactian tube swelling due to pregnancy. The mri was fine, not at all claustrophobic and I tend to get claustrophobic!
I have been prescribed prednisone for a hearing loss issue today. Ive been und since July 2011. I have not yet taken my post tx vl test although all my blood work looks good. I was wondering if anybody has any info on this. I looked on past posts and found it all to be old and not real specific. Thanks ahead of time!!
t exactly explain what happened but instantly prescribed 40mg of prednisone for 10 days and taper off 20mg then 10mg then 5mg for 9 days going half every 3 days. I am on my last day today and I did an audio test at some hearing aid place 3 days ago. Up to 750 hz, I have full recovery but it drops steeply to 65 db for all other higher frequencies.
hey im soldier going through the same thing was shooting m-4 carbine rifle or ar-15 had foam ear protection in but my right ear started ringing which is weird cause i shoot left handed anyway i didnt know that it was that serious and i consume alcohol and fatty foods its been ringing for a 9 days i started taking vitamins and wearing a ear plug my question did i prolonged the situation with what i ate and should i stay away from those foods and some tips to help me
M hearing came back second and was ringing really loud. I remained dizzy for a week plus. The neurologist ordered an eeg and mri after that incident. I get results on 4/3. Meanwhile I went back to the podiatrist and he put me on a walking cast. The prednisone made me feel yucky while taking it and the week after completing the 6 da dose, but thereafter I have noticed an improvement in the face pain stabbing eye, ear, and behind the ear pain, migraines, and the stiffness and dizziness.
I have had tinnitus and vertigo for many years. 7 years ago I was put on prednisone for myalgia pain. My pain went away but it had no affect on my hearing. It did affect my belly....it bloated out like a pregnant woman...lol...I got off prednisone back in january of this year. If you can avoid it then avoid it. If you need it for other reasons and not for hearing then I guess you have to continue taking it until it does not good for you.
A feeling that my face was about to cave in, Vertigo that would keep me in bed for days. ringing in my ear. inner and outer ear infections. blood taste in my mouth. And very hard crystal looking discharging from my ear. Im sure there is more but anyways 7 Dr.s all said, there was nothing wrong. I demanded a cat scan, nothing wrong. Months later my 17 year old son son was reading the cat scan and said, go back and tell them to due another cat scan but check sinuses not a brain scan.
I was prescribed Methylprednisolone (pak) and I've taken 4 out of the 6 pills in the first line so far, two per dose. It was prescribed for ear congestion. Now I'm having joint/muscle pain and muscle weakness.
Is this a normal side effect and not cause for concern? Or should I contact a doctor?
I was on the prescription Reactine and Flonaise, but for some reason the ear and nasal swelling occurred anyway. I dislike the Reactine because it makes me retain water (10lbs) and makes me extremely drowsy because the prescription form doesn't come in non drowsy, and the regular form was no longer strong enough for me.
Being it was in the eveing I went up to Walgreens to see what I could get for a ringing ear. I ended up purchasing some ear drops for ringing ears. (As it turns out I wasted my money).
The next day I went to my GP and he thought I had a hole in my ear and referred me to a local ENT. I went the next day and he checked me out and then sent me for hearing test.
l am sick of going to the docs with my ringing and constantly feeling blocked ear, l have seen 3 different docs and 1 ENT all of which say my ears look fine, they are not fine and at the moment my head is throbbing, my left ear ringing and feeling very pressurised, l feel very down and depressed and worried as in 5 weeks l'm off to europe :( This is supposed to be the holiday of a lifetime with my fanily and all l can think of is what is going to happen with my ears, can anybody help me?
I did a bunch of research on google about ear ringing and I see all these horrible stories about tinnitus and how it can put such a big impact on someones life. I'm just so worried, like I said it's really not bad at all during the day it's almost like it's not there, it seems like only at night when I cover my ear on a pillow or something I can hear it the most. Thank you.
