Avatar f tn There can be neurologic and non-neurologic causes of hand and foot pain. Some causes of pain in the hands and feet are not neurologic. For example, arthritis often acts up with excessive activity and cause become transiently more painful than usual. Certain viral infections can cause pain in several joints at once; this is usually transient and resolves once the viral illness resolves.

Avatar f tn I have also been having transient back pain. I went to the Urgent Care yesterday and they prescribed me Prednisone and a muscle relaxer, which I am quite nervous to take. I started the Prednisone today. I have had my blood tested many times and I do not have diabetes or HIV. Most doctors have been putting it off on my anxiety, but I am not convinced this is all in my head. Please help!
Avatar m tn The report read read I have a herniated disk at L4 and l5. I had tried prednisone on two different accounts and it made no difference. I had tried chiropractics for 5 weeks and made no difference. I have an epidural done last week($500 no insurance). my leg is still gos numb but there is now less pain. I also take 1800mg of Ibuprofen and 50 to100mg of Tramadol a day. I have been off my feet and out of work 4 weeks.
Avatar f tn Ive had 5 surgeries on my back and neck.It did relieve certain symptoms and a lot of pain, but other issues remained and continue to progress and get worse.. Im afraid to go to my upcoming neuro appt since the last time the dr, just made fun of me. and didnt even bother to give me the benefit of the doubt and do an MRI.
Avatar n tn I am not qualified to comment on treatment for the thoracic injuries, however there are leg exercises that are very helpful in the lumbar injury, which causes the buttock pain and leg pain. A professional physical therapist will be a worthwhile investment, even if not covered by insurance.
Avatar m tn I resently injured my low back cycling and after the low back pain went away I ended up with pain on my right SI joint and sciatica in my lower leg. It's been almost 2 weeks and since then I've had a chiropractic adjustment and a course of Prednisone. I'm still in pain and unable to run or cycle. Walking is difficult. My doctor thinks my glute and piriformis muscles are overly tight and clamping down on my sciatic nerve, but no amount of stretches or muscle relaxers help.
Avatar n tn He is still having the sciatica pain running down his left leg and left hip over a month later. At his 2 week check up the Dr. put him on the 6 day pack of Prednazone. It has now been over a month and he is still having the same pain as before the surgery. At his 5 week checkup the Dr. put him on Lodine which is an antiinflammatory drug. So far, no results. Is this normal or does it sound like the surgery just didn't work? We are so discouraged.
Avatar f tn In the last 3 months I have had charley horeses in my right calf at least3 times a week.Along with sharp pain in my foot and going into my lower back. But the past couple of days its going into the groin area. Its beginning to hurt to the touch. Avatar n tn I went through treatment ( 3 injections in my back) over 3 weeks. My back pain is gone, but weeks later, I developed this leg and foot pain. I returned to my neurologist and was told I will have some pains from time to time. This pain has gotten progressivly worse. Last week, I returned to my General practice Doctor to start over because the pain is becoming dibilatating, he took blood and put me on prednisone. I don't know where to go from here or what to do.
Avatar m tn Recovery after such procedure takes time (three to six weeks) and as everyone is different it may vary as well. Most of the times, one may experience hand and leg pain during the recovery period. However, essentially you should avoid lifting heavy objects, bending, twisting and excessive exertion for the first three weeks. It is not like that you restrict all activities but you should gradually increase your physical activities over this period.
Avatar f tn Plus I have this aching/burning pain in both my upper legs and hips. I am taking muscle relaxers and ibruprofen and nothing is helping. The doctor mentioned an MRI after the weekend if I'm no better. The aching across my legs is driving me nuts, I can't sit still. I feel like a little kid with "growing Pains" I'm really only comfortable standing or walking. Ideas, suggestions?
420469 tn?1217647363 I have a lot of the same terrible pain mostly from the Kreme down to the toes feel swollen achy deep pain pressure helps but only while applied knees lock in place very stiff thighs muscles are very fatigued like extremly tired weak I get dizzy also I can not stand for long in one spot while working due to severe pain in legs then if I walk the whole shift once I stop end of shift when I get in car I can barely walk from pain when I try to stand if I could I would crawl instead of walk on my le
Avatar f tn Hi there, My first thought is that it's the sciatic nerve being pinched or irritated in some way. Before I had my hips replaced I had pain that would start in my, um, rear end, shoot down the back of my thigh, SKIP my knee area and continue down the back of my calf. After the hip surgery the sciatic pain disappeared. My guess is that the hip pain was altering the way I walked, sat, stood, etc, which can easily lead to pain elsewhere in the body.
Avatar n tn About 6 months ago I started having pain in my upper arms and across the back of my neck and shoulders. It was like a really bad stiff neck. Approx. 3 months ago the same type pain has occurred in my upper legs as well. In both areas, I am experiencing muscle weakness. If I try to lift or pick up something over my head, it is very difficult. After sitting or sleeping, the pain and stiffness is very bad. After walking the pain and stiffness decrease. I am a 55 year old female.
Avatar f tn The prednisone made me feel yucky while taking it and the week after completing the 6 da dose, but thereafter I have noticed an improvement in the face pain stabbing eye, ear, and behind the ear pain, migraines, and the stiffness and dizziness. Also the fatigues has gotten better. I am noticing more of the symptoms are starting to come back.
1166205 tn?1263076852 I too think that I may have Lupus because I often get a butterfly rash on my face and I read that was a sign of Lupus and I am no expert so maybe I don't know, plus my doc said it wasn't Lupus but I'm starting to second guess him. I told my doctor about my stabbing pain when I take a deep breath and he witnessed the pain it causes me first hand but he wasn't too concerned and I haven't had that pain since I was put on Prednisone. Thinking maybe I need to get a second opinon.
Avatar f tn Rash just where heat was applied. After two days of prednisone very itchy and swollen. Is it normal to get worse before better? When healing is it normal for patches to become darker ?
Avatar f tn Search the net for GERD, Apple Cider Vinegar and you will see folks describing what you mentioned here - except for the jaw/leg pain. That may be a coincidence. And when you say you feel it at rest, that points to anxiety which works with GERD to make you miserable. Any health food stores (like Sprouts) or vitamin shop will carry it. You can even order it online, it's really cheap. Get the original one by BRAGG - they advertise that it has the "mother" in it.
Avatar f tn This discomfort is almost constant and seems to be getting worst - although my increased worry about it could be playing a role in how I am perceiving the pain. My question is, has anyone else had leg pain/discomfort that became almost constant and lingered for months? I wish everyone on this site well as I know how challenging it is for many of us to make it through each day!
Avatar f tn His internal organs have all come forward and are pushing on his lungs and heart. He is otherwise healthy, runs, jumps eats drinks and eliminates. I am just nervous about the prednisone. Thanks for any advice you might have.
Avatar f tn The pain is also present in my right hip and partially down my right thigh. When I put weight on my right leg the pain becomes worse. Sitting and lying down can be uncomfortable at times. Certain movements also seem to make it worse.
Avatar f tn m feeling a little better about the high dose all at once.
Avatar n tn I have a had a high sed rate for 12 years and pretty much only leg pain up until this past year. Now I have lots of hip and shoulder, facial pain. My white blood count is also low. I am 33 my doc said that this is very rare for some one my age but he was very confident that this is the right Dx.
