20793681 tn?1556071128 If I stand it will go to 110 and when I walk upwards of 125 and the highest it has gotten is 160. When it gets really high I feel some slight pressure in my chest. If anyone has a premature heartbeat or skipped heartbeat you get this build up of pressure before the weird beat. It feels like that yet the pressure stays sometimes. Last week I had some pain and pressure in my chest that lasted about 4 days. Now it is just the pressure and only every now and then and slight.
Avatar f tn If you answered no to either of the questions above, I think it is important that you get the tests to check for potential damage from a stroke and talk with your doctor about starting blood pressure medication. The blood pressure medication may help your symptoms as from the info in your post, it seems that your symptoms are related to the increased blood pressure over the past 5 days. Please keep us updated on how you are feeling. Take care.
Avatar n tn All clear. I am a diabetic and have been running very high blood sugars when I have been on the many antibiotics and Prednisone. I am now experiencing some neuropathy in my hands and feet - do not know if it is related to my mysterious condition or a result of the long periods of high blood sugar. Would appreciate any input. Thanks !!!!
Avatar n tn If you are taking steroids (ie prednisone) for some of those conditions, it can cause or contribute to the high cholesterol, insomnia, and high blood pressure. It can also contribute to the fatigue. Your disease and the prednisone as well as other medications can lower your immune system.
Avatar f tn I've been on Prednisone on and off for the past few/couple years because of GM; been on it all, high and low dosages. I also struggle with my weight, it's been up and down, usually I've gained weight on the Prednisone (up to 20ish lbs) but luckily, I've always very easily and quickly dropped all the weight gained once I'm weaned off of the high dosages.
12602759 tn?1426187969 Since that spider bite she has had a headache everyday, blood pressure 157/88 and her hep c got worse. Can MRSA cause her hepatitis get worse, and what about constant headaches every day. Help please. They do not offer treatment at this prison.
Avatar f tn Some of the uses of prednisone include treating autoimmune disorders, skin diseases, disorders of the endocrine system, exacerbations of multiple sclerosis, respiratory diseases (such as acute asthma exacerbation) and rheumatoid arthritis. Prednisone has many different side effects associated with its use.
Avatar n tn I recently was diagnose with autoimmune blood disorder in which the Pneumonia and the Flu vaccination triggered the disorder, now various medication was prescribed for this problem. Prednisone was one of the medication prescribed, but I've been off that med for almost 2 weeks. I was aware Prednisone making my Blood Pressure and Sugar erratic. I'm currently taking NPH insulin at 50-100 units per day.
Avatar f tn and the prednisone actually raising or lowering the blood glucose because then it is high or low and those numbers will effect you. Does that make sense? What I do know is that if those are accurate readings, you may no longer be pre-diabetes but may have diabetes. What is your A1C? What do you do to treat your pre-diabetes; what is important is to lose weight if you need to, lower carb intake and get regular exercise. 215 is definitely in the zone where complications begin to form.
923318 tn?1334369286 I can now move around without pain everywhere. My lifelong high blood pressure is suddenly gone and the blood pressure is now strangely low, so I quit taking my high blood pressure medication. But the high heart rate is still there and it's wearing me out. And the chest pains are scary. I also have weird flashes of heat and feel like my body is crashing. I sweat profusely, wet all over, and then it passes. (I'm past menopause.) Anybody have a clue what is going on with me?
Avatar n tn The fish oil you are taking is great for cholesterol and will also help lower high tryglycerides. Oh yes, on your lipid and blood panel. Did you have high insulin along with high tryglycerides? This is sometimes an indicator of insulin resistance, and that can mean blood sugar instability, thus, possible palps.
Avatar m tn Blood pressure is ALWASY near perfect....it won't move 3-4 points either way. With the internet people like me think we are doctors but of the research I've done I would agree with the Aldosterone issue also. If I eat anything that is high in potassium I suffer dearly for most of the day and potassium is in everything. I just have to make sure that what I eat is low in potassium. If I am able to get this Aldosterone issue under control will I be able to eat bananas again?
Avatar n tn re experiencing could still possibly be related to the course of steroids (although still not very likely) - in that use of prednisone can raise blood sugar and elevated blood sugar can cause blurred vision, although usually in both eyes, not just one.
Avatar f tn Symptoms of premenopause are irritability and mood swings, hot flashes, night sweating, irregular periods, decreased blood loss during periods, dry vagina, breast heaviness and tenderness and joint and muscle pain. Treatment is by hormone replacement therapy. I feel that an evaluation by a gynecologist will be helpful. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn my blood sugar is at 12.
Avatar f tn In the middle of April,I experienced low grade fever, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, tingling and numbness of my feet.My doctor did not know the cause of my symptoms, thinking it is from a virus and gave me some antibiotics and medications to decrease my pressure. He thought that numbness is due to B12 deficiency so he gave me the vitamin.I felt no relief.
1523893 tn?1301579774 Sumana is right that Prednisone will cause fluid retention. It can also cause a temporary rise in blood pressure and blood sugar levels. These side effects can easily contribute to development of all the symptoms you describe. I'm surprised you didn't mention any nausea, heartburn or insomnia. These symptoms are all often near the top of the complaint list during steroid treatment.
Avatar m tn moon face, high blood pressure, profuse sweating, irratibility, inability to deal with stress, and that is not including the side effects I get to look forward to in the next 10-15 years. I hate it so much that I have started weaning myself off of it with out my Dr's guidance. I just can't take it anymore! The imuran was working really well but they had to suspend it for a while because of adverse effects.
Avatar m tn Thanks.
696538 tn?1229392554 Can anyone tell me what is the purpose of the Cortisol Bind Glob (CBG) blood test? What exactly is it measuring? I took the test and although my cortisol levels are below normal (2.5), the CBG was high normal (ref range: 19 - 45 mg/L -- mine 45). Vitamin D below normal too ( was 19 but has come up to 29). My ACTH was a low normal (I recall 17 - doctor said he expected it to be high) and my DHEA was below normal (< 15).
915119 tn?1341948989 if your blood pressure is too high it restricts the blood vessels and can stop baby from getting enough blood and oxygen. if it gets extremely high it can cause seizures. are you seeing spots or having blurred vision? I agree with bjbbeauchamp, try nor to stress! and if it goes up any more then go to L&D! its better to be safe than sorry! I have had HORRIBLE swelling in my legs for months now, but no protein in my urine until the other week.
Avatar n tn I am 35 years old and never thought I had HIgh Blood pressure until recently. As I am into my higher studies, when visiting the doctor for a fall, they told me I had high pressure readings of 160/110. My pulse was also high, ( I was diagnosed with tachycardia some years ago which was again put down to stress.) They put it down to anxiety and stress, and gave me atenenol 25 mg. Since then I have developed a fear, and my pulse raises whenever the doctor checks my pressure, and my pressure is high.
Avatar f tn 2wks tomorrow since surgery and still have tingle in feet and hands, and blood pressure still not going down, was 146/97 today. I just dont understand to be like 97/72 up till i fall asleep for surgery and to wake up this high, and stay that way. Dr says he dont know what to do next, what it could be. I know this cant be good to go on now with this high of blood pressure and nothing done about it. I dont know where to turn to next.
