Avatar f tn When i went to bed last night i checked my heart rate and it was below 60. When i got up this morning it was the same thing and all throughout the day it was the same as well. I have had a headache all day and it will not go away. It is in my eyes and face hurts. I am cold and tired. I am on the following medications. Robaxin for my back, prednisone for my back, z-pack for a sinus infection and that is it.
Avatar m tn I am an avid runner and I have noticed and extreme increase in my heart rate while coming down and off of pred while running. My heart rate will stay up near it's max high 170 to low 180 for much longer than it should. I am unable to sleep at night after an intense run...prior to prednisone my runs would have no affect on my sleep and my heart rate didn't concern me. I am guessing the increased heart rate may be due to my body not making it's own cortisone..or enough of it yet?
Avatar f tn The next morning I took 1 zithro along with my blood pressure meds chlorthalidone shortly thereafter my heart rate was 113 but no other problems I called my dr he told me try and relax later that night heart rate went to normal visited my new dr did blood wk everything normal except thyroid overactive wondering if the meds the steroid, zpack, and blood press meds could have caused this reaction
Avatar m tn Prednisone can definitely cause an elevated heart rate on it's own. Biaxin can also cause heart palpitations in some people. But that being said, a resting heart rate of 90 is considered to be within the normal range and anxiety can definitely drive it up. Try to stop checking your pulse, that can make mine go up for sure. I did the same thing after taking an antihistamine and got all upset and mine went up to 120.
20793681 tn?1556071128 I could barely walk my heart rate ws horribly high and I could barely breathe and very fatigued. When I went for treatments they put me on antibiotics and prednisone 50mg to take for 6 days. Then I followed up with my regular doctor who put me on more antibiotics and prednisone of 40mg and then to taper down.
Avatar n tn I am currently only on Flovent and Flonase and they added 25 mg of Atenelol to lower my heart rate which was still occasionnally running in the high 80's and lower 90s after getting rid of Mucinex and taking prednisone. This treatment has been successful so far. Is the asthma causing the tachycardia or vice versa? Will this eventually go away? I have recently been cleared for mild exercise again - will this help the tachycardia? Would weight loss help as well.
Avatar f tn Have had two by-pass surgeries, one heart attack and valve replacement and now in CHF. My EF was about 35% but dropped to 23% after a reaction to prednisone taken for a allergic response to the dye used in heart cath. My problem seems to be my normal heart rate is running about 60 to 63 going up to about 70 when exercising (little treadmilling) My meds are 50mg cozaar...
Avatar n tn My 70 lb lab mix is on Prednisone and doxycycline because he tested positive for heartworms. He has had excessive thirst peeing and panting, increased respiratory rate and heart rate .I'm concerned about this but the vet says it's necessary in order to prepare him for the immiticide injections. Anyone have a similar situation?
Avatar f tn I had my first (undiagnosed) episode of POTS that caused me to pass out about six years ago after a course of Prednisone for poison ivy. At the time, it was misdiagnosed as some type of odd reaction to prednisone and my adrenals. I just recently had a second episode And was admitted overnight to the hospital. I passed out at work and then they discovered the heart rate in the 150's. It was officially diagnosed with a suspected onset after a sinus infection.
1166205 tn?1263076852 Do you think the Prednisone would mask my SED rate? My doc took blood bout 2 months ago and he said it came back with no inflamation but it surprised me because I forgot my meds on day and by evening I was about in tears. I am just so confused with all this, I'm sure a lot of people are but it's so frustrating not knowing...ugh!!!
Avatar n tn 0.37, 3.69). The mean birth weight and gestational age were lower in the AZP group (2,995 g vs. 3,252 g [p = .001, difference of mean: 257, 95% CI: 106.3, 408.1] and 37.8 weeks vs. 39.1 weeks [p = .001, difference of mean: 1.3, 95% CI: .5, 2.0], respectively). The AZP group had more cases of prematurity (21.4% vs. 5.2% [p < .001; OR 4.0; 95% CI: 2.0, 8.06]) and low birth weight (23% vs. 6.0% [p < .001; OR 3.81; 95% CI: 2.0, 7.2]).
446896 tn?1237802742 Moments later my heart went into a more dangerous arrhythmia called atrial flutter with a high rate. They brought the crash cart in and prepared to shock my heart(cardioversion) but luckily I returned to atrial fib. The next morning I woke up with a normal heart rate. All my test were normal, including my EKG and echocardiogram. I was sent home and continue to have chest tightness but am certain it is associated with the ongoing episodes of crippling panic attacks.
Avatar n tn The exertion in the coughing action causes his SpO2 level to drop drastically(below 70%) and heart beat rate also increases. No one believes him as the literature shows that prednisone is supposed to help with IPF. His doctor said that he can not stop the steroid abruptly so he needs to continue the dosage 10mg per day. He is reluctant to continue this treatment. Glad to know that someone has the same coughing experience.
Avatar f tn The Dexedrine and prednisone might be making your heart beat faster. Along with the antibiotics, you might want to see how well you do off the medication for a short time and boost your immune system with vitamins, instead.
Avatar m tn I am a 26 year old female and for the past 48 hours I have had a heart rate of between 115-149. and blood pressure fluctuating from low to high. I have not felt dizzy but at time short of breath with not really chest pain per say but can definitely feel my heart beating hard. I had an allergic reaction about a week and a half ago and was given prednisone upon leaving the ER, told to take 2/day for 5 days which ended on sunday 11/20/16.
1284766 tn?1272809789 I've been so frustrated over the past few weeks, so if anyone can offer any insight I'd be extremely grateful. I've been on Plaquenil (200 mg) for my lupus since 2004. At that point I had a normal heart rate. About three years ago my heart rate started to increase, my doctor said between 88 and 100. These last few months my heart rate has gone up even more, up in the 110's and 120's.
Avatar f tn sed rate and CRP test. You need to call your MD and tell them about you still having pain. Discuss repeating sed rate or increasing prednisone. you can go blind in both eyes from giant cell arteritis (also known as temporal arteritis). Avatar f tn Hi I know this is not an eye forum but I thought some of you folks might have some info regarding prednisolone... I have heart failure due to chemo which I had for cancer at age ten. The heart is being treated well as I'm on heart and blood pressure meds. Iv recently had a re activation of toxoplasmosis in my eye for which I was put on prednisolone. I started by IV 300mg for three days at the hospital, then put at 50mg for 7 days, 40mg for 7 days, 30mg for 7 days...
Avatar m tn As far as the diagnostic journey goes, I thought I had a torn rotator cuff and strained muscles in my side and legs. Had tingling and numbness in my left arm and shoulder. Had an EKG, ultrasound of my heart and a stress test. Docs told me it was nerve damage. Had and MRI of my shoulder, and everything was perfect there, and had a full physical from two different docs (my PCP and his PA) and everything was normal.
Avatar f tn I have Adrenal Insufficiency...having a real rough time, rapid heart rate, short of breath, sweats, etc. I am on prednisone. I am interested in finding information on what diet would be good for this condition. My cortisol levels are quite low.
Avatar f tn In addition, Prednisone can also CAUSE anxiety, panic and depression since it alters the hormones and neurotransmitters of the brain. It's little wonder why none of these doctors you mention want to take responsibilty. Don't blame you for standing your ground and seeking relief anyway possible.
Avatar n tn m concerned about what the beta blocker will do to my blood pressure/heart rate as they are already low, and also how my asthma will react. At this point, my asthma, which had been under control for years, is out of control. I have an appointment with a specialist, but that's still a ways off. I'm currently taking 20 mg/ day of prednisone, and it's reduced the attacks and the severity of the attacks, however it's as low as i can go without consequences.
471161 tn?1317190950 I was in th hospital for four days in December with a high heart rate and low sodium and low potassium and then back in in January with high heart rate and high sed rate. If I got out of bed to brush my teeth the niurse would run in to see if I was ok because my rate would go up to 160 that easily.
Avatar f tn I was given 50mg prednisone at the ER on Sunday 3am, following a delayed reaction to penicillin. I proceeded to take 50mg daily until I started feeling horrible (today) I asked the pharmacist and she told me to stop if I felt palpitations and high blood pressure which is exactly what i felt. I noticed now 14hrs later my rash is coming back and i feel my throat pulsating (not sure if that's from palpitations of carotid artery) or if i'm closing up again, slowly?
1284766 tn?1272809789 Just wanted to let you know that I got my echo cardiogram today, as well as the results of my 24 hr heart monitor, and everything thankfully looked fine. Both the cardiologist and my pcp think that my high heart rate was caused by extreme stress and anxiety, and that it's not the medicine. My rheumy didn't necessarily agree, but he seems to think it's highly unlikely that the plaquenil is causing the tachycardia.
