My son had to take 30mg of prednisone and the azathiorprine for months, as it takes awhile for the azathiorprine to kick in. The DR also told us he may never fully come off the prednisone. Zac also get rashes from the azathiorprine. He is only 9.
m 29 weeks pregnant tomorrow ill be 30 weeks and yesterday I had an asthma attack the doctor gave me prednisone to take for 5 days once he let me go home.
My period was supposed to arrive on 9/15 but is still not here but i have been nauseous all week and getting pretty bad cramps, could this be from the prednisone or should i be more worried about possibly being pregnant? Has anyone else had this issue concerning prednisone? And if so should i go see a doctor or wait it out?
About a year and a half ago, I had a severe asthma episode and coschondrits for the first time. I was put on a 2 week coarse of Prednisone along with ibuprofen. By the end I had developed an issue swallowing pills. Even my small thyroid ones felt like they got stuck. Then it progressed to coughing up small hard bits of food, severe reflux, etc. After too much testing, the problem mostly resolved except for lingering occasional esophageal spasms and the thought that some was just hypersesivity.
i have asthma and i am pregnant.. it was getting so bad that i could not do anything without getting out of breath and having to use my breathing machine all the time...the doctor prescribed prednisone and just recently heard it could have harm to the baby.. it was a 20 mg tablet twice daily only for 3 days? i had bloodwork done and they said it came back abnormal. i go the 14 to have an ultra sound and then the 15 to have a second ultrasound at uav?
I am considering just staying on Prednizone for a little while longer and getting pregnant, and then going on cellcept. I have been on cellcept one week tomorrow, and think it would not be too late to discontinue (after talking to my doctor again) since I am also still on 40mg of prednizone every day. Do you have any opinions about cellcept and pregnancy?
I would not be concerned about someone taking prednisone having sex and passing it to their partner. Are you allergic to prednisone for why you are asking?
I was diagnosed with GM last year and only just recently found out I'm pregnant. I was on prednisone for about 4 months but stopped about a month before I discovered I was pregnant. My doctor has also discouraged me on continuing any antibiotic for the inflammations I was having. So now I'm drug free.
As for the symptoms, the inflammations did go a bit worse at the beginning, but now it has been 3 weeks since I had one, so I guess that's an improvement.
They started me on 40mg and the pain and bloating was extreme. They dropped me to 30 two weeks later and then I was on 20 for a year. Now I am on 10 every other day plus methotrexate once a week.
Is it common to get/still have extreme bloating? After meals I bloat out to looking as if I were 4-8 months pregnant. My physician is surprised by this and the only help he offered was to prescribe 2 folic acid tablets daily instead of 1.
for 8 years or so. However, I am hoping to get pregnant and so my Dr. slowly weaned me off the imuran and now I am on prednisone 20mg. My last dose of immuarn was tuesday--25mg (down from 100mg). Now my dr. wants me to wait 2-3 months to start trying to get pregnant! Does anyone know anything about that--that it takes 2-3 months for imuran to get out of the body? Has anyone had any experience with trying to get pregnant and/or having a baby with AIH and being on either of these meds??

I was diagnosed with GM in October 2010 and was 5 months pregnant at the time. I think if you really want another baby you should'nt let this disease deter you from your dream. In my personal experience there were several times I was in pain and had to go the breast specialist to have the abscess drained with a needle. Granted it was'nt the most pleasant experience but after it was done I was fine.

My daughter has to be on it for a week because of severe hives..She is only 7 weeks pregnant.. Just wondering if there should be any concern,,it's a low dosage and hoping she comes off of it this week.
In 2006 we concieved our first child and i was taken off the Prograf and put on Prednisone for the first half of my pregnancy and my liver enzymes were stable...i think i was on about 10 mg? Not sure cant really remember...In my 2nd half of pregnancy i stopped all meds and my enzymes stayed normal! I had a rather normal pregnancy but at 36 weeks we lost our babygirl in the womb....she was stillborn, they never found a cause so i of course blamed myself and my AIH.
I heard RAI can increase the effects on her eyes due to the increase in hormone surge I read that taking prednisone can help decrease the inflammation that may be caused. Has any of you taken prednisone after getting RAI. I just would hate to her her eyes get worse, even though I read studies that say they may get worse before getting better.

has anyone ever see a pregnant woman get her first flare up while pregnant? Why would they suggest prednisone for a pregnant woman? Is this safe at all? Is there anything natural that can help?
I am wondering what kind of results has anyone had from the prednisone and how soon you may have noticed a difference. My biggest problems have been the shocking pains, tickling skin, and numbness in my hands. The numbness in my hands doesn't feel so bad as it did earlier today, usually it feels as if the circulation is being cut off or tightness.

I only use my ventolin rescue and prednisone when I have an attack. My asthma is very bad but I have been getting by without the advair. Maybe you should talk to your ob. No controller inhaler is safe during pregnancy.
so I will keep on pushing. With some luck my own immune system will keep getting better after 9 months of prednisone and maybe the outbreaks will get less numerous. Is it common to get 2 outbreaks per month?? Thats 24 PER YEAR!

I was borderline needing it but ended up not, however one of my friends had terrible asthma flare ups while she was pregnant and her Dr had her on it. Her and I are both nurses and comfortable with the idea of taking the prednisone while pregnant. It's definitely one of those where the benefits greatly outweigh any potential risks.
Anyone taken prednisone while pregnant? I am 16w and have low platelets. I am really worried about the side effects. Mainly excessive weight gain and mood swings.

To have you on prednisone and Symbicort sounds like overkill to me, since they are both steroids. Since nothing is working try another doctor.
