m not getting any better and the worse thing was it become pneumonia and the doctor put me on zithromax for 7 days but unfortunately the fever is still there and I was confined in the hospital twice and I undergo bronchoscopy and thoracoscopy and the diagnosis was nonspecific interstitial pneumonia but still I have a fever and night sweat at night.
and next day had shortness of breath......back to er got prednisone,and levaquin...went to work and ppl are freaking that rather I'm sunburned or Bp was high.....turned out Bp was high 152/102 ...was red and flushed only on head neck and face.....nowhere else......was told prednisone side effect....but being riddled with panic disorder I checked latuda site......rare but deadly side effect called nms...neuropaletic malignant syndrome.....symptoms are.
During the last 2 months and still now I suffer from high fever (around 100.76 Fahrenheit), I take daily around 4-5 tablets of Paracetamol and alike to lower the temperature, It is very difficult.
Recently while I was on vacation I took 5 days Prednisone (from 5 capsules on the 1'st day down to 1 on the last day) and I felt great, I assume I would also feel good if I take 1-2 Prednisone capsules daily till end of treatement.
Still didn't ask my doc about that.
I just went to the doctor very sick with congestion, fever, cough, nasal drip, sinus pressure. She told me she thought I might have COPD, and if things did not clear up she also gave me a prescription for Prednisone. I told her I do not want to take it, but she gave me the prescription anyhow in case I needed it.
I am looking for some information myself as to what is it supposed to do for you.
Symptoms returned following week and was Rx Colchicine for 1 wk. due to NSAID allergy. Echo after tx with Prednisone was normal without any signs of effusion. EKG's, CXR and CT of chest WNL. Currently back on Colchicine as was told that Prednisone burst caused rebound pericarditis. Last WBC (July 30)13.6, absolute Neutros 9.7 (10 days after Prednisone), CRP 1.5, ANA negative, RF negative, CRP slightly elevated.
After the infection was over ,There was no pain or redness in the eye but vision was little fuzzy as compare to my right eye, I went to Opthamologist and she put me on Lotemax drops for 7 days, I used drops and went back after a week and she said, inflammation is still there and she put me on Prednisone 40 mg TABLETS for 4 days with Lotemax eye drops every one hour.
I am really worried as there are lot of side effects of Prednisone, This is my second day on Prednisone and so far i am good.
On 3/22 I had a recurrent perineal abscess rupture and went to the doc. I had a low grade (99.2ish) fever and my left inguinal lymph node was slightly swollen and tender. I attributed this to the infection I had.
He looked at it and said it didnt need to be lanced. He also wasn't too concerned with the low fever and lymph nodes. He prescribed Bactrim DS (I was given the generic form) for 10 days.
I dutifully took the pills 2x a day. The entire time I had a low grade fever.
I have had a chronic pattern of elevated wbc and neutrophils for 5 months now but only slightly elevated over those 5 months, however symptoms have increased and having extreme lethargy, night sweats and now daytime sweats and weakness. Most recent labs now show higher WBC 21 (range 4.5-11)and neutrophils 78 range (42-75) and low lymphocytes 13 (range 20-51). My doctor has me on 10mg of prednisone but he doesn’t feel the prednisone would increase my labs that much. Please help.
I just want to feel better and like myself again. I am studying abroad currently and I have been missing various activities and travel opportunities due to my constant fatigue, swollen glands, eyes, face, and ear ache- I have been dealing with this for so long, I hope this helps but I don't think the side effects are worth it if they occur.
I took my daughter to the er for strepthroat and when the doctor was nearly done with her I told him my throat had been a little sore he looked and said its a little red but I had no other symptoms but was going to treat me as if I had it as well we both rec predisnol and 2 antibiotics and a presc for the z pac. We both left d hosp got mmeds and took the 2.
His blood sugar was very low(40). The vet said to treat the symptoms and put him on Prednisone, 5 mg, twice a day. While it seemed to improve his blood sugar(I tested his blood), he had periods of excitement and heavy panting for hours. I was concerned about heart attack and I cut his dosage to 5mg three times a day, then 2.
After a month of so, he started to develop a severe cough. Dry, but with almost every breath. This continues today, after 4 months.
I have vasculitis for over a month now and the prednisone is not helping much. The flares occur almost every week. I had some blood work done and the only ones that came out abnormal are: ASO 800 iu, ESR 100mm/hr, Monocytes .11 (limit is .7)
Now my question is, can this be caused by HIV 7 years AFTER a possible infection?

For the past 6 years or so, every time I have a fever, within 2 days I break out in a rash all over my body. Each time it occurs, it covers more of my skin than the previous time. The first day it starts to show, it barely itches. The second day, it becomes nearly unbearably itchy. If I scratch, or my clothes do, after a few second that area will sting and burn. The burning and itching is also triggered by heat and warm moisture.
ON JUNE 25,2012 I STARTED C/O OF JOINT PAIN, FEVER,HAIR LOSS AND FATIGUE. I AM FLARING AND BACK ON PREDNISONE. I AM 67Y/O AND HAVE RA AS WELL. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH LUPUS 4 YEARS AGO.
Things were all looking good and she was feeling well with the steroids, but one and half weeks’ time, she is again feeling bad, with 99.5 fever, and now the pain has shifted from Left to right. (initially it was all in the left). She cannot do much work and is very depressed. Doctor says her last blood work looks good but this was like 6 days ago, from that we are going to do another blood test tomorrow to see if things are bad.
Your son’s fever and “breathed” (breathlessness?) remain unexplained and, if either persists at this time, is worrisome and worthy of further investigation. If the fever persists, the mottled skin could be a sign of bacterial infection and, possibly also an explanation for the shortness of breath. However a more likely explanation for persistent fever with shortness of breath, would be pneumonia.
If your daughter is a child then the possibility of rocky mountain spotted fever, Kawasaki disease and scarlet fever are there. Rash in all these involves the palms and soles and is a red, shiny rash. Investigations and blood tests are needed to confirm the diagnosis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist.
The GP that put her on it is giving her prednisone to make her feel better but as soon as she goes off of it the fever and pain come back and she is having awful effects of the prednisone. Pleas help!

My wife has a history of ulcerative colitis. After a remission period of over 8 years, she started having diarrhea a couple of months ago and at first we thought it was nothing (we had almost forgotten the UC). This kept progressing until she started getting fever.
